Apocalypse Forecast

The delicate porcelain cup was placed in front of Elisa.

She reached out to pick it up, the cup’s wall was icy cold, feeling no heat at all. Yet the crimson wine inside seemed to contain a terrifying heat, making one’s scalp tingle.

In the silence, she sighed softly, ”To be honest, I thought you would stall for time.”

This was the last thing Elisa wanted to see.

According to the rules, in each round, if both parties pour wine for each other, Huai Shi could very well dawdle and slack off during his turn. What’s wrong with taking half an hour to mix a glass of wine? Is perfectionism not allowed?

As long as he dragged it out long enough, the effect of the Wounds Passing Curse would be naturally nullified.

But Huai Shi’s speed was beyond her expectation.

In less than two minutes, pouring, heating, and mixing were completed in one go, delivered right into her hands. It was as if he was eagerly awaiting the second round.

Huai Shi shrugged, observing her expression: ”If I can’t make you concede honestly, you would certainly have other tricks up your sleeve, wouldn’t you?”

”How annoying, Miss Huaizhi, you’re making it sound as if I would cheat.”

Elisa smiled mysteriously, lowered her head, looked at the porcelain bottle in front of her and the glass beside Huai Shi, and asked curiously, ”Why are there two glasses?”

”Drinking alone seems rather boring, doesn’t it? Accompanying a guest for a drink is a unique expression of intimacy in Yingzhou.”

Miss Huaizhi pinched her own glass, wittily asked, ”Though it might not seem reasonable, would you refuse, Miss Elisa?”

”Of course not,” Elisa replied openly, ”With such a beauty accompanying me for a drink, who would choose to refuse?”

No more words.

She picked up the glass in her hand, and drank it in one gulp!

Then, she felt a splitting headache.

Her body involuntarily twitched, her legs went weak, almost unable to stand. The palm holding the bar left a deep imprint in the solid wood.

Pain.

Intense pain erupted from her skull, carrying the impact of hallucinations like something substantial.

It was as if... as if someone had chopped an axe onto her forehead!

Immediately, the terrifying pain spread through her body along with the wine that was heated to perfection, dispelling all the coldness wherever it passed, warming her entire body.

What she swallowed was not liquid, but a strand of fragrant mist with warmth.

It was intoxicating, yet unbearable with the axe blade-like excruciating pain...

Along with the spreading pain, uncontrollable waves surged from her chest. Elisa panted heavily, supporting herself against the bar, the chest beneath her black vest heaving violently, her expression... gradually twisted.

Turned ferocious.

Because of anger!

Solid anger rapidly spread within her body, filling her entire shell, and with the pain and intoxication quickly expanded, gradually eroding her soul.

Causing this rage that condensed into substance to burst from her body!

In the dead silence, vague exclamations came from the audience. All the Chef Demons raised their eyes in astonishment, fixating on Elisa behind the bar.

”How beautiful, she’s burning.”

Huai Shi picked up his glass, casually took a sip, and calmly praised, ”Becoming one’s true self in the fire, Miss Elisa burning is truly captivating.”

Indeed, Elisa was burning.

The rioting Source Substance was tainted by this rage, leaking out in strands from her pores and skin, transforming into crimson flames, enveloping her.

Across the bar, the blazing heat could still be felt.

It was like opening the lid of a furnace.

This was not Huai Shi’s anger, but the anger originally hidden within Elisa’s shell. What Huai Shi did was at most sprinkle a spark.

Caught off guard, it internally ignited Elisa’s rage, shaking her consciousness instantaneously, almost failing to restrain from striking the enemy opposite her!

The sharp hand knife halted abruptly at the last moment.

The five fingers entwined with a black curse carried a faint ferocity and curse, only a hair’s breadth away from Miss Huaizhi’s pupil.

At the last moment, she controlled herself.

Without violating the rules of the Chef Duel, otherwise, Elisa would have been disqualified instantly.

”What intense firepower, someone must have really pissed you off.”

Huai Shi nonchalantly sipped his glass, leisurely raising a finger.

A delicate flame slowly rose from his fingertips.

It was alcohol, the alcohol in Huai Shi’s body igniting under his own rage, quickly metabolizing.

Thanks to the Great Tengu’s brilliance, this newly brewed sake perfectly fused with Huai Shi’s blood, the vitality of the Mountain Ghost flowing within. If consumed alone, it was indeed an incomparably precious top-grade. Not only could it heal hidden wounds and enhance vitality, but its exquisite taste was also intoxicating.

For Huai Shi, it was also an invaluable material.

Aside from it, not much could so perfectly embody his Source Substance. It incorporated the anger from his Source Armament, forming a specially crafted volcano.

If it were an ordinary person, they would have long been turned to ashes by such rage and heat! Elisa merely lost control slightly, almost punching herself.

Her pupils reddened.

In silence, Huai Shi picked up the porcelain bottle to pour her another drink.

The round wasn’t finished yet.

”Continue?” Huai Shi asked.

Elisa did not answer, silently picked up her glass, and once again, drank it all in one go.

The intense flames emerged once more.

Every time she drank, it brought the illusion of her skull being shattered, the pain felt so real, as if someone truly took an axe and severed her neck, taking her head.

In the sweet aroma of alcohol, the fury consumed her, inching her towards destruction.

Conversely, it had no effect on Huai Shi.

His own blood, his own Source Substance, and his own wine... It wouldn’t make sense for them to poison him after coming back from the outside.

Instead, seizing this opportunity, he expelled the alcohol accumulated inside his body, relying on the vitality of grass and wood in the sake to replenish his weakened life force.

Even in a temporarily illusory state, he still managed to recover to nearly his original range through sheer will.

As one grows, the other declines.

Huai Shi pulled ahead by one round!

When Elisa set down the porcelain cup one final time, she couldn’t help but let out a long sigh. After the intense flames were extinguished, she slowly regained her clarity.

The pain vanished quickly, like an illusion.

”I’m actually drunk?” she murmured in amazement.

”Just about, isn’t it? Alcohol and anger both make people lose control, don’t they?” Huai Shi asked, ”Can you continue?”

”Of course!”

Elisa pulled out a handkerchief from her vest pocket, wiped the sweat off her face, fingers, and neck, and after replacing her scorched hair tie, regained her composed demeanor.

Casually grabbing a handful of ice cubes from the nearby freezer, she tossed them into her mouth, crunching loudly.

Finally, the cold stimulation brought her back to tranquility.

The remaining ice cubes were thrown into the shaker, then the ounce glass flipped gracefully in her fingers, pouring in rum, vodka, bourbon, gin, brandy...

Like a global liquor exhibition, dozens of different spirits mixed together in the shaker. Next, the Curse of the Ruler turned into a vortex, harmonizing all the chaotic ingredients.

When they fell into the ice-filled glass, they transformed into a clear and fragrant liquid, no longer showing their bomb-like lethality.

The ring of a soda can was pulled off with a happy sound, and as Elisa tilted her hand, it mixed evenly into the glass.

She drank the remaining half herself.

The empty can was tossed into the nearby trash bin.

And a slice of cut lemon was already tossed into the cup, adding an enticing sourness amidst the bitterness of alcohol and sweetness of the drink.

Finally, the mist-covered liquid was placed before Huai Shi.

The sweet aroma lingered at the tip of his nose.

”This is Loss of Control Wine.” Huai Shi raised his head with a half-smile, asking his opponent curiously, ”Could it be that Miss Elisa harbors wicked intentions towards me?”

”Though you are my type, my principle is never to make a move on a guest, so regrettably, we don’t have the fate that Yingzhou People speak of.”

Elisa shrugged, smiling as she leaned closer, ”Second glass, Long Island Iced Tea, please, Miss Huaizhi.”

This was a super-sized cocktail directly served in a beer mug.

Far beyond three times the volume of the previous Bloody Mary.

Not to mention the terrifying lethality it concealed...

Evidently giving no chance to Huai Shi to down it in one gulp.

”Cocktails should be savored slowly.” Elisa said pleasantly, ”Gulping it down like a bull is too ungraceful. It’s best to savor the bartender’s painstaking effort and design repeatedly.”

”Unfortunately, I’m probably the kind of unwelcome guest.”

Miss Huaizhi shrugged, directly snatching up the beer mug, raising her head, and opening her mouth.

The dull sound of liquid erupted from her throat.

The beer mug quickly tilted, pouring super-sized Long Island Iced Tea directly into her open mouth without any swallowing.

Just like filling a thermos.

Elegantly finished, Huai Shi put down the glass and, right in front of her, let out a satisfied burp, grinning happily.

Elisa looked at him too, smiling even happier than Huai Shi.

”Gotcha.”

In that instant, a crimson hue emerged from Huai Zhisu’s body, spreading rapidly, followed by a faint mist rising from her body.

As if the whole person was shrouded in a thin fog.

Huai Shi stared wide-eyed in amazement.

Breathing quickened.

In that instant, drenched in sweat!

Being the famous ”bad boy’s fun drink,” Long Island Iced Tea may taste sweet and sour, but fundamentally it uses the flavors of soda and lemon to mask its excessively high alcohol content within.

Not to mention the terrifying lethality multiplied by several times caused by different spirits mixed together affecting the human digestive system!

Drinking it in one gulp seemed to avoid the weakening of the Wounds Passing Curse but instead forced Elisa’s alcohol bomb to explode completely from within.

Huai Shi stood dumbfounded, only feeling his vision rapidly darken.
