Apocalypse Forecast

In theory, at this moment, Huai Shi should raise his hands and shout, ”I want a lawyer,” saying nothing more—a word not uttered until Little Amber arrives to accuse you at the Deer’s Sing Hall of abusing my client. I want to file a complaint...

That’s how the usual plot should go.

But the person coming today doesn’t look like they’re inviting him for tea.

Instead, it seems they’re planning to take the opportunity to beat him to death.

Miss Huai Zhi, instantly transformed, still holding a toothbrush and a cup, with the phone caught between her neck and not hung up, emerged from the bathroom to see a monstrous figure towering like a mountain.

And the room in complete disarray.

”May I ask what this is about?”

He sighed helplessly, ”If I’ve offended you somehow, just say so. No need to dig a trench across your mother’s grave like this.”

No response.

Amidst the swirling dust, an iron rod no less than a meter long came crashing down on the helpless and pitiful Miss Huai Zhi!

That was a ’Tento’ with sharp edges!

Although the length is exaggerated compared to an ordinary Tento, with the height and build of its wielder, it looked perfectly natural.

Whether called an iron ruler or a Ryukyu trident, any weapon in the giant man’s hand would become a deadly instrument.

Clearly a weapon meant to capture without killing, yet used mercilessly aimed at fatal spots!

Amid the roaring noise, Huai Shi sighed, raising her eyes.

She looked down at the cup and toothbrush in her hand, stepped sideways, narrowly avoiding the Tento which could split iron, and then took a forward step.

The cup was raised, splashing the mouthwash onto the attacker’s face.

He didn’t look like he had a girlfriend, so Huai Shi, in her magnanimity, washed his face with a beautiful girl’s mouthwash.

In a rush, the monk-like giant man bowed his head abruptly, the bamboo hat blocking all the splashed liquid.

But there was no time to raise his face.

And then he saw a toothbrush still foamy with toothpaste, stabbing straight toward his eyeball.

Swift as lightning.

Amid the piercing whistle, it came within inches.

Eventually, it stopped abruptly.

Suspended before his eyes, Huai Shi’s pinky flicked the handle of the toothbrush slightly, splashing a bit of toothpaste foam into his eyes.

”Wash your eyes, my friend,” Huai Shi retracted her arm, tilted her head, poured the last bit of water from the cup into her throat, and started gargling, gulping down.

The giant monk roared in anger.

His face was an iron blue.

Literally, iron blue.

Soon, his entire being seemed to turn indigo in rage, like the guardian statues in temples, with hair standing on end, hands exploding, and short red hair spreading like fire.

Yingzhou Phylogeny Stigma · Blue Abbot!

”How dare you resist arrest?”

The Blue Abbot roared, ”Then, there’s no need to hold back...”

Huai Shi was dumbfounded.

A mouthful of water was almost spat out.

Never seen such a peculiar thought process.

If you insist on resisting arrest, fine, but exactly who was holding back? Is this some Yingzhou traditional skill, a solo act? Don’t they call this rakugo?

But then, the air was filled with a strange sound.

Invisible power twisted into thick ropes, instantly contracting and trapping Huai Shi inside.

Outside the door, the emaciated sublimator assailant raised his eyes, his lifted hand pulling the source substance rope, and then a blinding electric current erupted from the rope, coursing through Huai Shi’s body.

Numbness.

”Remember, I’m from the Municipal Government Office of the Deer’s Sing Hall, Mitsu Shima Tadakatsu...”

The Blue Abbot grinned and raised his hand, firmly holding the Tento, with a heavy end suddenly ejecting a dark green spike.

Mid-air, his arm suddenly swelled again by a third, releasing terrifying power, breaking the limit, and smashing toward Huai Zhisu’s skull!

At that moment, Huai Shi lowered her eyes and sighed helplessly.

”What?”

Horn Mountain turned back in shock, glaring at his colleague, ”The people from the Deer’s Sing Hall went over? When!”

”Just now,” Maoye replied.

”As part of the Eight Canine Warriors, you just let them run wild?” Horn Mountain was furious, ”This is the Li Jian family! Where do you put the Li Jian family’s name and dignity!”

”The Li Jian family... is there even a Li Jian family anymore? Now it’s just meat on the plates of court officials and samurai.”

Maoye sneered, ”Haven’t you figured it out yet, Horn Mountain? This so-called Chef Demon trial, is just treating us as food to be handled... does anyone care about the name of the Eight Canine Warriors at this point?”

He looked at the iron-blue faced Horn Mountain, shaking his head and sighing, ”Either way, we’re just dogs, changing employers, better learn to read the room sooner, Lord Horn Mountain.”

Horn Mountain’s face was iron blue, and the hand on the sword hilt was bulging veins.

”The so-called samurai should work as cattle and horses for their master... Maoye, don’t you wonder why your new employer prefers a dog that betrays its master?”

”Get out of my way!”

Indifferently, Horn Mountain cast one last glance at him and then pushed past Maoye blocking the road, rushing towards the courtyard where Huaizhi was.

”Too late, they’ve already gone over there.” Maoye shook his head mockingly, ”But that Miss Huaizhi truly is a beauty. It’s understandable why Magistrate Horn Mountain is so worried...”

Horn Mountain’s footsteps paused, his gloomy eyes stared over, tinged with a hint of pity.

Like looking at a fool.

”You still haven’t figured out who you should truly be worried about?”

”Is it the unfathomable Abyss Demon Slayer or the other dogs of your new master?”

Stared at by such eyes, Maoye was dumbfounded.

Suddenly he felt a bit uneasy.

.

Just like Maoye said.

By the time they arrived, it was already too late.

The entire courtyard was in chaos.

Having finally taken a nap only to be abruptly awakened, Zhenxi was sitting on a chair, sipping tea to calm down, while continuous loud noises came from the house behind her.

”Are you okay, Zhenxi?” Horn Mountain bent over, held her shoulder, studying her for a moment before finally feeling relieved.

Maoye was already impatient: ”Where’s Huaizhi? Where’s Huaizhi?”

Zhenxi lifted her hand with a complex expression, pointing towards the inside of the house where the muffled loud noises were becoming clearer.

Horn Mountain and Maoye exchanged glances, their expressions turning more complex.

Entering the door, the increasingly shrill cries could be heard.

”Stop hitting me, I am the Agleam Murder Demon, I admit it, stop hitting me...”

A giant of a man, robust as a mountain, lay on the ground, kowtowing rapidly and screaming and weeping: ”Spare me, Miss Huaizhi, I know nothing...”

Behind him, a half-dead, gaunt Sublimator was suspended from the beam, foaming at the mouth, long unconscious.

”Did I tell you to stop? Continue!”

Huai Zhisu kicked him in the forehead, yelling angrily: ”Do you know why you’re an idiot? It’s because you usually slack off at the temple every day and don’t kowtow, now you have to make up for it, not a single day or person less will do. This is the outcome of slacking off!”

And then, Maoye saw the elite from the Municipal Government Office, known as Iron Reverend, actually continued kowtowing without even furrowing his brow.

Even when the floor cracked, banging his head on the shattered steel and stones, bleeding all over, he dared not stop.

Silence.

In the deathly silence, only the constant thudding of kowtowing could be heard.

Among the loud noise, Huai Shi turned his head and smiled at Horn Mountain.

”You’ve come just in time, we’ve found the true killer of Li Jian Bu Jing! The Weibo name is... cough cough, anyway, just quickly apprehend them.”

As he spoke, he kicked the Blue Abbot beside him: ”Speak, who is the Agleam Murder Demon?!”

”It’s me! It’s me!!!” Mitsu Shima Tadakatsu shouted, kowtowing: ”Quickly arrest me, I confess, I surrender... It was all me!”

”...”

The awkward silence returned.

Horn Mountain and Maoye stood frozen on the spot. Horn Mountain was because he had never seen such a fantastical scene, unsure of what was happening. Maoye, seeing such a fantastical scene, had already started imagining what kind of arrangement his new employer would make of him after witnessing all this...

The only solution left was one.

Maoye instinctively drew his sword, his expression grim: ”You this...”

Bang!

A punch from behind, striking the back of his head.

Maoye fainted on the spot.

Not knowing if it was accidental or intentional.

But that punch indeed made Huai Shi’s eyes light up, the timing and force were just right, perfectly between a fatal blow and Maoye’s limit of endurance.

”Sorry, though this guy is embarrassing, after all, he is a retainer of the Li Jian family... Please forgive any disrespect.” Horn Mountain retracted his fist, raised his hand to grab Maoye’s collar, and threw him out the door.

”Come to think of it, you’ve been disrespectful from the very beginning, don’t you consider cutting your belly?”

Huai Shi rubbed his chin and pondered for a moment, suddenly remembering: ”Sorry, although guests are rare, it’s a bit messy here, and I haven’t cleaned up. Could you please wait at the door for a moment, I’ll make you some tea...”

”Tea is not necessary.”

Horn Mountain indifferently glanced at the two unsightly fellows at Huai Shi’s feet, ”But what I’m more concerned about is, what exactly have you done?”

”Did what a good Samaritan should do,”

Huai Shi shrugged, his five fingers spread open, strands of Apocalypse fell from his fingertips: ”You see, sometimes, to make people confront reality, all it takes is a nightmare.”

”...”

Horn Mountain said nothing, his brows gradually furrowing.

Not knowing what exactly should be done.

Whether to apprehend this arrogant person on the spot, or pretend nothing happened... But either way, the Deer’s Sing Hall probably wouldn’t let this go easily.

While he was contemplating, the phone in his arms suddenly rang.

After he answered, his expression slightly changed, and soon, he hung up the call.

”Miss Huaizhi, Lord Inugami requests your presence.”
