The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1150: Chapter 1150: A Little Horn (Part 4)

Whenever the old emperor thought of that top scholar, he got angry.

He had absolutely no desire to marry off his precious daughter to a scholar from a poor family, but unfortunately, his daughter’s destiny was too...

She had lost five fiancés in a row; it was undeniable!

As for the fate of this top scholar, he’d already had it checked. He was a man of tough destiny, born under a star that killed his father, leaving him with no family. Even his mother was almost killed because of him.

Two people with tough destinies might just cancel each other out.

But who would have thought this scholar would be so disrespectful, refusing so openly in front of numerous officials instead of agreeing first and later finding an excuse to refuse? How disrespectful!

Since he disrespected My Majesty, let him feel the wrath of the Emperor!

The old emperor got furious and ordered the scholar to be thrown into the heavenly prison. Despite this, he was more worried as this scholar was their last hope; if it didn’t work out, they would have to proceed with the marriage alliance.

”What’s so good about seeing a girl from the countryside,” the old emperor took this opportunity to put down a half-eaten pastry, feeling as if eating one more bite was painful.

The young girl wouldn’t let him off, ”Father, does it taste bad? Why did you only have one bite?”

Indeed, it tasted bad!

Very bad!

But the old emperor was too embarrassed to say so, unwilling to hurt his daughter’s filial efforts.

She was a princess, and she personally cooked, showing her filial piety moved heaven and earth.

The old emperor sighed, picked up the pastry again with a forced smile, ”It’s delicious, very delicious.”

The young girl: ”If it’s delicious, then have more.”

The old emperor smiled bitterly, ”Alright, alright, I’ll have more. It’s just that I ate earlier, and I can’t eat much right now. I’ll leave it here, and I’ll finish it when I’m hungry.”

The young girl squinted her eyes, ”I’ll watch you eat it, Father!”

Seeing that she wouldn’t leave, the old emperor thought for a moment and said, ”I promise you, I’ll allow that village girl into the palace. Prepare yourself.”

”What should I prepare?” The young girl asked with innocent eyes.

The old emperor took a deep breath, ”The scholar refused the marriage in public; you need to dress up and outshine that village girl!”

”Can’t I outshine her without dressing up?”

The old emperor: ”...”

Seeing her father’s troubled expression, Her Royal Highness Princess decided to be merciful and not make things difficult for him anymore, waving her hand, ”Then I shall take my leave.” He passed the Scholar exam, and soon he would go to the prefectural school for his studies, spending less time at home.

Someone took advantage of his absence to break into his house for theft. His widowed mother discovered the thief and was nearly silenced. Just then, a girl with a machete rushed in to save the widow.

Counting it, this girl was his mother’s savior.

She was a daughter of a hunter family, naturally strong, straightforward, and lively. After long acquaintanceship, the top scholar developed a secret affection for her.

When heading to the capital for examinations, he mustered courage and confessed that if he could make it to the top of the list, he hoped she would marry him upon his return.

And the girl agreed.

”Had I known, I would have proposed before leaving for the exams.” The scholar smiled bitterly.

”How strong is she?” The young girl suddenly asked.

The scholar was stunned.

He hadn’t expected Her Royal Highness Princess to focus on Lady Wan’s strength.

Recalling how he once sprained his foot and Lady Wan carried him easily, he blushed a little.

”Hey, the princess is asking you a question. Why are you silent again?” The little palace maid urged.

The scholar quickly replied, ”She goes hunting up the mountain with her father and can carry three wolves down by herself.”

The little palace maid exclaimed, ”Who are you fooling? How is that possible!”

The young girl narrowed her eyes, her previously listless eyes now gleaming with interest, ”I, the princess, want to meet her.”

”Princess, do you intend to blame her?” The scholar hastily knelt, ”I said those things only to prevent the princess from investigating further and to spare her. I didn’t expect...”

”I, the princess, am giving you and her a chance.”

The scholar looked at her in surprise.

The young girl stood up, dusted off her skirt, ”I, the princess, have a fine bow. There are few who can draw its string. If she can pull the bowstring, I’ll grant her a favor.”
