Chapter 1782 - 1782 Unique Fighting Style

1782 Unique Fighting Style

Sam didn’t wait there for long.

Merc king came to him within a few minutes. So, Sam and he started walking into the clan grounds slowly. Some guards who couldn’t fathom their strength came at them hoping to stall them. Of course, they are all taken down in a matter of seconds.

Followed by the guards even the clan members coming to take down the two intruders only to fail.

Sam is walking as if he already knew the in and out of the clan. He is taking a route that Shijin already revealed and he made his way to the room kid is locked in.

When he reached the corridor in front of that room though, someone is standing there with their hands crossed.

Sam sized him up and recognized that this is the guy that Shijin talked about.

“Whoever you are, get lost right now. I am bound to the clan grounds and this room. So, I won’t chase after you and kill you, if you escape right now.

If you are too stubborn to do that and still come at me, I will kill you in the most painful and gruesome way you can imagine.”

Sam shook his head.

.....

“Why is everyone I am facing always have something like this to say? Anyway, let’s get out of here. I don’t want to harm the kid inside. We won’t be able to fight to our fullest here.”

As he spoke, he jumped out of the corridor and into the open area at the front.

The old man hesitated a bit. He looked at the Merc King that is still standing in the corridor.

“Don’t worry, he won’t touch the kid. If even takes a step forward from that spot, I will kill him myself.”

Merc King frowned. He looked at Sam in surprise and wanted to ask if his mind is alright. If they could find a way to take the kid away without having to deal with too much resistance, they should take it. After all, their final goal is the kid.

He doesn’t know if Sam is just saying that to reassure the old man, but he didn’t dare to take that chance. He knew that if Sam really wanted to kill him, he would die on the spot.

The old man looked at Merc King for a moment and jumped out of the corridor.

For some reason, he felt like he could trust Sam’s words and got prepared to fight him.

As soon as he got ready, he didn’t wait anymore. He disappeared from the spot and appeared in front of Sam in a flash. He threw a straight punch to sam’s face.

Sam caught the fist that came at him and he succeeded in stopping it, but he was surprised because the force that came from the fist didn’t stop with just that. It started flowing through his body and it tried to disrupt his energy circulation.

This is actually one of the oldest tricks Sam came across in this world. But he hasn’t seen it since he leveled up. It is indeed a fine technique honed to perfection. If Sam’s energy control is not at his level, even if it was slightly worse, he would have fallen for that hit.

The old man is also a little surprised, but he didn’t show it on his face and didn’t stop his onslaught.

He started throwing rapid punches.

Sam started using both of his hands to block them and every punch has that residual force that tried to disrupt his energy. His control is good enough to stop it though. He managed to hold out better than he expected.

But soon, the old man started using his legs.

Sam who got used to the pattern a bit, suddenly saw the leg coming at him.

He used his arm to block the leg once again. This time the force came at a very different angle. It is not exactly powerful, but it is concentrated and the motion of that force is also a bit different than before.

If the punches tried to resist energy circulation, the kick tried to cut off the stream immediately. Sam still kept on blocking as he saw the punches and kicks flying at him. He didn’t use his elemental energy though.

He just used his physical prowess to see what this old man can do.

Within another two minutes of blocking, the fighting style changed a bit. Sam blocked a punch from the old man who followed up with another punch. But this time when he tried to block it, the old man slipped to the side and caught hold of Sam by his arm.

He threw him over and tried to throw Sam over on the ground.

Sam didn’t fall through. He slammed his legs and managed to regain balance. But from the impact on the legs, he could feel the disruptive energy waves coming off. Even the old man’s throws and slams are very aligned with his technique.

This technique is very similar to the ripple style, but this is more concentrated and the force is not just moving in a ripple and wave fashion.

If not for his delicate control, Sam might have already been defeated. As the fight went on, Sam kept on getting this energy movement and the disrupting force all over his body. The Old man is a bit frustrated as he looked at Sam’s movements.

Sam might look like he has been on the losing end. But in fact, he is perfectly composed and everything is within his control all this time. He didn’t get injured one time.

He did take the punches, but Sam is negating all the blows seamlessly.

Old man gritted his teeth and took a deep breath.

“You are good. Not a lot of opponents ever held this long.”

“Thank you. You are not so bad either. But if this is all you can do, this wouldn’t be much of a fight.”

“Really? As far as I can see you haven’t landed a single hit.”

As he spoke, he lunged forward and landed a punch again. Sam blocked the punch once again, but this time, he felt something else other than the force that he felt before.

The palm that caught the punch took all the force and energy of the hit. And this time, Sam wasn’t even able to negate the force or redirect it. The energy and force went directly into the palm muscles.

The energy tried to hurt the muscle fibers at the cellular level. Sam felt immense pain in his palm. The pain that emerged from deep within. He could feel that some of his muscle fibers are torn apart.

The old man didn’t want to waste Sam’s daze. He took full advantage of it and threw the second punch.

Sam took the punch in his shoulder. The feathered coat didn’t do anything to resist the energy. To be precise it didn’t work. The force of the punch went through the coat and directly hit the shoulder muscles. Even the outer skin is completely fine.

Only after a few seconds, did a bruise come up on the palm and the shoulder where he took the hit.

Sam immediately changed his fighting style as well. The next kick that came, he blocked it with a metal element fused hand. But to his surprise, the damage he took actually increased.

He groaned in pain as he looked at his arm. He had to remove the fusion and he could feel that the insides of his arm are bleeding. The bruise became darker and darker.

“Seems like you won’t be able to land that hit after all. I won’t hold back anymore and finish this off.”

The old man’s body is covered with spiritual energy. His speed increased by fourfold. Sam could still see him, but even his speed is not enough to match that. Of course, only his normal speed. If he has to match it, then he would have to use partial fusion.

This guy is scary.

Speed is most likely his best form. His fighting style is designed to dissect the opponents bit by bit and take control. Mentally and physically injuring them and taking them down with accumulated damage.

His energy control is impeccable and his physical control is beyond artistic. His combat prowess is genuinely impressive and admirable.

Sam couldn’t help but smile at this.

Of course, since the start, he hasn’t given his all. He is just curious to see how the strongest beneath the Divine plane will do and he got a pretty good gauge of the strength.

The old man didn’t like it when he saw Sam’s smile. He is throwing a barrage of punches from all directions. Sam shouldn’t be smiling right now, but he is doing exactly that. This made him feel a bit vigilant and also made him push even harder.

Only in the next two seconds, no matter what kind of attack he threw, he couldn’t land it.

Sam also stopped moving back. He just halted in his tracks, standing there like a pillar. Except for his arms, nothing moved. He is leisurely blocking all of his moves.

The old man felt a bad feeling creeping into his heart.
