Medical and Martial God

Chloe agreed with Ye Xiu. She asked, ”It won’t be long before Spiritual Energy fills the globe. It’s only a matter of time before the three Judicator Families realize their plan has failed. At that point, the three Judicator Families and the Eternal Kingdom will surely launch a global war and attempt to unify the world by force. How should we handle this?”

Indeed. Even if they shattered the Judicator Families’ plans of ’global panic’ and ’mutating all of humanity with Poisonous Spiritual Energy,’ the combined strength of the families and the Eternal Kingdom was still far beyond what the world’s nations could counter. Once a world war began, the destruction of those nations would only be a matter of time.

”Our only strategy now is to take the fight to the Eternal Kingdom. That’s the only way to prevent humanity from being subjected to such horrific suffering.” Ye Xiu took out the Stone Mirror with a flip of his hand and sent a message to Dizang. ”It’s time to undo the Formation on Biluo Island.”

Once the Formation on Biluo Island was undone, satellites from every country would discover it. Then, nations and Martial Artists from across the globe would flock to Biluo Island to ’hunt for treasure.’ Although this would lead to many tragic deaths on the island, Ye Xiu had no other choice. For the greater good, and to prevent the armies of the Judicator Families and the Eternal Kingdom from invading every country, he had to turn Biluo Island into a battlefield.

”Let’s go. To Nanjing,” Ye Xiu said grimly. ”I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s Mist Chant Martial Meeting. I want to see how T4001 plans to annihilate all the Martial Artists of Nanjing!”

The Mist Chant Martial Meeting arenas were built in a valley that had once been home to an abandoned mountain village. A construction crew had leveled the old village to build three fighting platforms: one for Great Grandmasters, one for First Realm War Gods, and one for Second Realm War Gods.

The green hillsides flanking the valley had been terraced into spectator stands capable of seating one hundred thousand people.

Early in the morning, the sixty to seventy thousand Martial Artists from around the world, who had been waiting in the mountains for over two months, took their seats in the stands.

”Does anyone else feel that the mountain air is particularly crisp today?”

”You’re right. I feel incredibly comfortable after just a single breath. It’s so strange.”

”Maybe it’s just because the Mist Chant Martial Meeting is finally starting, and we’re all in a good mood.”

A buzz of conversation filled the stands, with most people discussing the ’air.’ Having never absorbed Spiritual Energy, they didn’t know the air felt so crisp because of the revival of Spiritual Energy.

However, some people in the stands had absorbed Spiritual Energy before. For instance, there was Yan Long, as well as the elites from Xuanse’s Official Family martial organization, Heaven Net—including the Eight Great National Protector War Gods. They had all cultivated for nearly two months in the Spirit Gathering Array set up by Ye Xiu.

”What’s happening? Why has Spiritual Energy suddenly returned?” Yan Long frowned in confusion.

”Master, what are you talking about?” Qing Luan asked, having overheard Yan Long’s muttering.

The other members of Heaven Net looked over.

”You may not know this, but the Spiritual Energy on Earth was sealed by the Temple many years ago,” Yan Long explained briefly. ”When I woke up this morning, I felt faint traces of it in the air, and it has only gotten denser since. This is clearly a revival of Spiritual Energy.” He added, puzzled, ”There is only one possible explanation for this: the Temple’s seal has been broken. But who has the power to break a seal set by the Temple?”

After his explanation, the members of Heaven Net mostly understood the situation.

Qing Luan stated with conviction, ”Is there even a need to guess? It must have been Huang Quan.”

Yan Long’s eyes widened. ”Is Huang Quan that powerful?”

”Just touch your own face, and you’ll have your answer,” Qing Luan suggested.

Yan Long was speechless.

Meng Yinwan, sitting inconspicuously in a corner of the stands, was equally shocked. She typed in the Restorer Alliance group chat: ”I just cultivated with my Ancestral Technique and was surprised to absorb a significant amount of Spiritual Energy. It’s obvious the air is so refreshing today because Spiritual Energy has been revived.”

The King of the Snow Region: ”I felt it too. Spiritual Energy has definitely been revived.”

”It must be that the Sword Holder has emerged and unsealed the Spiritual Energy Wells that the Temple locked away long ago.”

”Our earlier guess was correct. This Mist Chant Martial Meeting is different from the previous ones. The three Judicator Families really are trying to use it to draw out the Temple and the Sword Holder.”

The group chat erupted with excited messages, everyone agreeing that the revival of Spiritual Energy must be the Sword Holder’s doing.

Just as their discussion reached a fever pitch, Huang Quan joined the group chat!

The group instantly fell silent. Damn it, how did Huang Quan get in again?

Huang Quan: ”The seals the Temple placed on all the Spiritual Energy Wells were broken by men sent by Qiao Beiming. The three Judicator Families planned to use the Poisonous Spiritual Energy released from the wells to mutate all of humanity into monsters.”

Everyone in the Restorer Alliance group felt their scalps tingle.

Meng Yinwan: ”We’re doomed! I already absorbed some Spiritual Energy. Does that mean I’m poisoned?”

The King of the Snow Region: ”Shit, I absorbed some too.”

”Why didn’t you say so earlier? I just absorbed some.”

”I did too!”

Everyone in the group admitted they had absorbed the energy, and a wave of panic washed over them as they all assumed they were poisoned.

Huang Quan: ”I anticipated the Judicator Families’ conspiracy long ago. I collected samples of the Poisonous Spiritual Energy and gave them to Xuanse’s Medicine King, Ye Xiu, who developed an Antidote for all of them. Before Qiao Beiming’s men broke the seals, I had already used the Antidote Ye Xiu developed to neutralize the poison in all the Spiritual Energy Wells.”

After reading Huang Quan’s message, everyone in the Restorer Alliance group was utterly flabbergasted.

Meng Yinwan: ”Huang Quan, you’re incredible! You foiled the Judicator Families’ conspiracy so easily. You have my deepest admiration.”

The King of the Snow Region: ”We spent over two thousand years searching and still failed to find the Spiritual Energy Wells. Not only did you know where they were, but you also orchestrated such a grand counter-plan. You’re a savior to all the world’s Martial Artists.”

”Ye Xiu truly lives up to his title as Xuanse’s Medicine King. His medical skills are unparalleled in history. He can even neutralize poison from the Temple.”

”Now that Spiritual Energy has returned, as long as the Temple doesn’t intervene, it won’t be long before the Restorer Alliance has the strength to stand against the three Judicator Families. This is all thanks to you and Ye Xiu. Your names will be recorded in the annals of Martial Artists for future generations to look up to.”

”Huang Quan, you and Ye Xiu have saved all of humanity.”

Everyone in the Restorer Alliance group showered praise on Huang Quan and Ye Xiu, completely unaware they were lauding the same person. Nevertheless, their gratitude toward both was genuine and heartfelt.

Ye Xiu, sitting unnoticed in the stands while wearing a cap and a mask, thought to himself, A bunch of sycophants! Qiao Beiming sent T4001 to slaughter all the Martial Artists in Nanjing. If Meng Yinwan and her group’s guess was correct, the three Judicator Families are testing to see if the Temple and the Sword Holder are still around. If the Temple and the Sword Holder actually show up today, things are going to get chaotic.

Just then, Ye Xiu saw a ghostly figure flicker into view and come to a stop on the central platform. His attire was exactly like Wu Liuqi’s—a suit of silver clothes—but he was a middle-aged man.

T4001? A cold smile touched Ye Xiu’s lips.

The Mist Chant Martial Meeting had finally begun.
