Slime Evolution

Chapter 88: 88 - Riches!

”Are you sure it’s okay to carry those slugs inside you?” Lisa asked, looking at Lohan uncertainly.

If she had previously found the scene of the slime carrying a large amount of acid inside him a little strange, seeing him carrying several slugs that practically floated inside him as if they were in a zero-gravity chamber took her concept to another level.

Lohan didn’t care. He couldn’t smell, taste, or feel disgust, so for him it was perfectly acceptable.

”Yeah, no problem, the poison from these slugs doesn’t hurt me,” Lohan replied cheerfully.

’That’s not what I was talking about...’ Lisa thought to herself, but said nothing out loud. She knew that only Halon could carry these slugs among them, and considering that this was what would bring them money, she didn’t insist.

His happiness did not come from carrying slugs, but from the new Evolution he had received.

[Poison Production Lv 1]

[By consuming biomass, the user can produce small amounts of poison.]

He had tested how powerful this poison was, and its level was much weaker than the Slime’s poison, but considering that it was still only a Lv 1 Skill, he didn’t mind so much.

As time went by, he could further increase the level of this skill with biomass to the point that this poison could no longer be ignored.

Imagine, while the enemy thought he was just digesting their skin and flesh, the little Slime was also injecting poison into their bodies and decreasing their combat efficiency?

The strategy he uses of using clones to trap and digest enemies could be further improved with the use of this poison!

If it weren’t for him having spent a large amount of Biomass in recent battles, Lohan would have evolved this skill a few times by now.

The road to Thalendor was long, but not that long, so before nightfall they were already in the elven city.

Lisa was a little out of breath from running all that way carrying the Slime on her back, which was already carrying several slugs inside it, but she didn’t complain, since the worst work was still being done by Halon.

When they arrived at the entrance to Thalendor, the guards had changed since the morning, so they had to present their Thalendor ID Cards again.

Fortunately, no clichés happened, and they were able to quickly go to the Silver Crucible.

Looking at the Slime carrying so many Swamp Slugs with ease, Intervar’s eyes sparkled at the sight.

”My little friends are back, and with a big surprise!” The elf said with a smile on her face. ”Not only did you bring me the slug poison, but you managed to bring the poison-producing slugs themselves! That’s amazing!”

”Yes, we agree that since we brought you the producer of the product you wanted, the value will also be considerably higher, am I right?” Lisa asked, with a subtle change in tone compared to how she spoke to Halon, now speaking a little more coldly.

Lohan noticed this and was a little surprised, but he didn’t think too deeply about it.

Intervar showed no negative reaction.

”Sure, don’t worry, Silver Crucible’s integrity isn’t that low. How about this, I offered you 10 copper coins for every 100 ml of poison, considering that you brought 5 Swamp Slugs directly, I’ll pay 10 silver coins for each one? The equivalent of the value of 10 liters of poison for each Slug.”

Lohan and Lisa looked at each other, thinking about this proposal.

That wouldn’t be bad. The slugs were small, which meant that the poison they would produce per day in a sustainable manner would not be that high, and considering that this would require a suitable environment and great care for the continuous production of poison, the price offered by Intervar was fair.

Feeling that the price was fair, Lisa didn’t make things difficult for Intervar, and after confirmation from Halon, her partner, she accepted the proposal.

They needed a reliable contact to sell these materials in Thalendor, so earning a little less but maintaining a good relationship with the elf was a good investment.

Not to mention that 25 silver coins each was not a small amount!

According to Lisa, players in Newbie Villages were struggling to earn 50 copper coins per day, so with the 5 silver coins they received that morning, in a single day they received 30 silver coins! A total of 60 times more than normal players.

Sure, this rate of gain couldn’t be maintained for long, since they also wasted a lot of time on it, missing out on gaining a lot of experience today.

With 30 silver coins in their pockets, the two decided to pause their immediate money-making and focus on gaining strength for the next few days.

With the amount of experience needed to level up doubling each time, they couldn’t ignore this aspect of Elysium.

Leaving the Silver Crucible, the small bag around Lisa’s neck was heavier and fuller, making more noise as it shook from side to side.

With the 11 copper coins that had been there before, adding the 30 silver coins made the weight she carried slightly uncomfortable, but she didn’t complain.

Even without anything very useful to buy, she still saved this money for after the Guild was founded. With humanoid members joining in the future, these coins would be of great use to them.

As for Lohan, after selling 10 silver coins in the game’s System, converting them into $1,000 for the real world, he returned with Lisa to the Mana Stone shop that Aeliana had introduced them to!

”Those Mana Stones seemed so expensive this morning, but now I think I can choose at least one useful Mana Stone, right? I feel like a Pay To Win player buying Skills in a Cash shop haha.” He thought cheerfully.

What he didn’t know was that a surprise awaited them at the Mana Stones store!
