Under the dim Sunlight, two figures were flying forward near the ground. They were Lu Ye and Ying Wuji. However, considering the distance between them, it seemed that Ying Wuji had been vigilant against the other person.

Human nature was complicated, after all. Ying Wuji couldn’t be certain that Lu Ye wouldn’t harm him. Although the man had never shown such an intention, he had to be cautious.

Someone like him wouldn’t entrust his own safety to anyone else, especially when he and Lu Ye came from opposing sides. They could work together temporarily, but trust couldn’t be built easily.

Lu Ye had noticed that, but it didn’t bother him one bit. While flying forward, he carved the crystal in his hands.

After destroying the group of corpses, he set off on the journey with Ying Wuji.

So far, they hadn’t come across any living person. The situation showed that the broken Peerless Continent had no more living people left or that they were hiding in secretive places.

Lu Ye preferred to believe the latter was true. It was a vast continent, after all. Even though it had become broken due to some unknown reason, there should be some living people.

Therefore, his most important task was to find the local cultivators in the continent and collect some information. Also, he had to find out the whereabouts of the cultivators from Jiu Zhou.

Since the Heavens had selected them and sent them to this place, they were supposed to join forces. Therefore, all nine of them were crucial to the team.

The journey was undoubtedly dull, and Ying Wuji felt depressed. As a Ghost Cultivator, he wasn’t used to having a companion, especially when that person was Lu Ye. He was used to being on his own. Therefore, he was subconsciously anxious.

During the journey, he had tried talking to Lu Ye, but he wouldn’t get any response. He gave up trying after several attempts. He had never known that Lu Ye was such a boring person.

Suddenly, his eyes brightened as he looked ahead intently and said, “There’s a city over there, Lu Yi Ye!”

Lu Ye lifted his gaze and saw the contour of a city. The city wasn’t big, but it was the only place where there might be residents that they had discovered.

The further they went ahead, the clearer the contour of the city was. However, the excitement and expectation gradually faded from Ying Wuji’s face.

That was because the city looked dilapidated as though it had been deserted for a long time. The area around the walls was left with traces of war, and there were dried blood marks in some places. The possibility of such a city having living residents was nearly zero.

Around 30 kilometres away from the city, Lu Ye suddenly landed on the ground. Ying Wuji was startled for a moment before he did the same and asked curiously, “Aren’t we going to take a look inside?”

They had finally discovered such a city. Regardless of whether there were people inside, they were supposed to take a look. Perhaps they would find some useful clues.

“There might be danger,” Lu Ye replied to him, which was rare, and he tossed the crystal at him.

Ying Wuji took it and asked curiously, “What is this?”

He had seen Lu Ye carving crystals like this on the road. He had asked him about it but didn’t get any reply. Much to his surprise, the man gave him one at this point.

“It’s a transmission stone,” Lu Ye replied and fished out another similar crystal. “As long as it’s in your possession, you can contact me at any moment. However, there’s a restriction when it comes to distance. It’ll be usable within 3,000 kilometres, and it’ll be unusable beyond that.”

Such an item wasn’t found in Jiu Zhou. Every cultivator in Jiu Zhou had a Battlefield Imprint. As long as they were in the same world, they could contact each other at any moment. Therefore, transmission stones were not needed.

The reason Lu Ye was able to craft this thing was thanks to his trip to Soaring Dragon Boundary, where the cultivators used transmission stones to communicate with each other.

He was curious at that time, so he got one from Huang Liang for research. He discovered that it wasn’t hard to make this thing. The Sound Transmission Glyph within it was the main reason it worked.

Lu Ye’s Tree of Glyphs had a Glyph called Record Sound, but it wasn’t useful, so he had never used it before.

Record Sound and Sound Transmission were 80 per cent similar, so Lu Ye soon fully understood Sound Transmission after some studying.

Considering that he might need transmission stones in the future, he had bought some materials to make the items during his visit to the Vault of Providence previously.

It so happened that he could use them now. In this broken Peerless Continent, their Battlefield Imprints were not reactive at all. In other words, they had lost contact with the Heavens in Jiu Zhou. If they wanted to contact each other, transmission stones were the only option.

Unfortunately, the situation came as a surprise to Lu Ye. If he could’ve expected it, he would’ve given the transmission stones to Hua Ci and Ju Jia before the Teleportation Ward was activated, and it would’ve been easy for him to find them.

Ying Wuji’s eyes brightened. “It’s a wonderful thing.”

He couldn’t help but keep fiddling with the transmission stone. Although it was his first time seeing it, he was a Cloud River Realm Master with an outstanding aptitude, after all. Therefore, he quickly learned how to use it after an attempt.

He infused his Spiritual Power into the transmission stone and said something. The next moment, the transmission stone in Lu Ye’s hand reacted. After he infused his Spiritual Power into it, Ying Wuji’s words were heard.

“It’s interesting.”Ying Wuji grinned. However, the smile soon faded from his face, for Lu Ye was staring fixedly at him. Realising something, he felt his heart sinking. “Why are you staring at me like this? Are you…”

“You’re a Ghost Cultivator.”

Ying Wuji was frustrated. He had asked Lu Ye if they should take a deeper look into the city. Lu Ye said there might be danger and passed him a transmission stone. Now, he was staring straight at him, so his message was pretty clear. He wanted Ying Wuji to sneak into the city!

Unfortunately for Ying Wuji, as a Ghost Cultivator, he was usually responsible for doing such a thing.

His eyelids twitched as he gauged the difference in power between Lu Ye and him. In the end, he decided to agree to it.

It couldn’t be helped, as he was no match for the man. He reckoned that he should be flexible in any kind of situation.

“If I fall into danger…” It seemed that Ying Wuji was ready to tell him several last words.

Lu Ye interrupted him. “Don’t worry. If you fall into danger, just shout ‘Blood Flows on Infinitely!’, and I’ll immediately enter the city and save you.”

Ying Wuji felt his eyelids twitching even harder. “Are you serious?”

Lu Ye nodded solemnly. “Trust me!”

Ying Wuji took a deep breath. [Dare I not trust you? Can I not trust you?]

A myriad of emotions came over him as he activated a Secret Technique to conceal his presence and stealthily approached the broken city.

After he was gone, Amber, which had been crouching on Lu Ye’s shoulder, shook its body, after which Yi Yi suddenly appeared and snuck into the ground.

Certainly, Lu Ye wouldn’t only rely on Ying Wuji to collect information. With Yi Yi’s help, they could get more details.

As for himself, he was no weaker than Ying Wuji when it came to his concealment skills. However, he reckoned he shouldn’t put all the eggs in one basket.

No one knew if there was any danger in the city. If there was indeed danger that couldn’t be solved, he could come up with a solution while outside the city.

Then, he fished out some materials and continued making more transmission stones. He couldn’t help but recall what the ‘Corpsemaster’ had said to him the day before.

Initially, he wanted to glean some useful information from the other party, but that guy was fierce and obstinate, giving him no chance. Left with no choice, he could only kill him.

Although he didn’t get much information, the other party had accidentally revealed something before going to Hell.

[The Corpse Race! The undead!]

The other party must have assumed that Lu Ye and Ying Wuji were cultivators in the Peerless Continent, so he didn’t hide such basic information from them.

Ying Wuji must have heard that as well, but as for what he thought about it, Lu Ye had no idea. Anyway, many ideas turned over in Lu Ye’s mind.

The destruction of Soaring Dragon Boundary was due to Blood Boundary’s attachment. The World’s Source continuously weakened until the world came to an end. It was a rare Race named the Blood Race that invaded Soaring Dragon Boundary.

Although there was no Blood Race in the Peerless Continent, they had the Corpse Race. In comparison, the Corpse Race seemed even stranger than the Blood Race.

Even though Blood Race members were taller and larger than most Humans, and they were well-versed in many Blood Secret Techniques, they were alive at the very least.

On the other hand, Corpse Race members were not living creatures. It seemed that they were even more dangerous than the Blood Race.

Of the corpses that were eliminated the day before, there was only one Corpse Race member. The rest of the corpses were controlled by only one person. It was like a Beastmaster driving his Spirit Beasts.

It was an eerie Race that could form an army with only one person. If not for the fact that Lu Ye’s soul was powerful, which allowed him to accurately find the Corpse Race member among the corpses, he couldn’t have destroyed the enemy.

Where did the Corpse Race come from? Was there a world called Corpse Boundary?

Lu Ye didn’t have the answers to those questions.

In comparison, Corpse Race members weren’t so powerful. As long as one could accurately find them, it wasn’t hard to kill them. Once the Corpse Race members were destroyed, the corpses they controlled would become immovable.

From Lu Ye’s perspective, it was easier to deal with the Corpse Race than the Blood Race in this regard.

The Void was expansive. Why were so many worlds in danger? What about Jiu Zhou? Was there any danger hidden beneath the peaceful facade of Jiu Zhou?

Lu Ye couldn’t help but recall the insectoids in the Lost City of Xianyuan.

The two sides had been going against each other since time immemorial. Did it have anything to do with this hidden threat?

Were the Divine Ocean Realm Masters in Jiu Zhou aware of such information? Having lived for a longer time and being more powerful didn’t mean they knew more.

The reason Lu Ye got to know such information was because of his trip to Soaring Dragon Boundary. He had observed and realised many things.

The mysterious and omnipresent Heavens even manifested itself and communicated with him. There were billions of cultivators in Jiu Zhou. Even the Divine Ocean Realm Masters might not receive such treatment.
