In the past, Lu Ye was too weak, so when he was hunted down by these people, he could only run for his life. Now that he was powerful enough to counterattack, he naturally had to get revenge.

He turned around and realised that all the remaining cultivators of Thousand Demon Ridge were gone, and Xia Liang was running away.

Xia Liang was clever as he was flying towards the Divine Trade Association. He knew that only by entering the Divine Trade Association would he stand a chance to survive.

Lu Ye was the one who made such a choice the past two times. Now that the tide had turned, Xia Liang made the same decision. How ironic was that?

Instead of immediately running after him, Lu Ye lingered around to collect his rewards.

Cloud River Realm Masters usually had considerable wealth, especially when more than 100 cultivators had been killed. Even though Lu Ye didn’t lack cultivation resources, he couldn’t just leave them here.

A moment later, he shot into the sky and headed to the City of Heavens.

In front of him, Xia Liang was running for his life, feeling sorrowful.

Back in the restaurant, he had told Tan Sheng that it might be their last chance because Lu Ye could increase his power quickly. If they couldn’t achieve their goal this time, they wouldn’t be a match for him the next time.

In fact, Lu Ye didn’t even give them this last chance.

Lu Ye was in the Eighth Order, not the Seventh Order that Xia Liang had speculated. Moreover, the power he had showcased was unrivalled by others. He suppressed all of them with absolute power.

Prior to this, Xia Liang would never believe that a Cloud River Realm Master could be this powerful.

Behind him, Tan Sheng’s aura was gone. He knew that Tan Sheng was dead.

They had spent a long time together hunting Lu Ye down, so it was impossible that he didn’t regard him as a friend. That was why he was mournful over his death.

He turned his head and realised that Lu Ye was nowhere in sight, but he didn’t put his guard down. Instead, he still madly activated his Spiritual Power to run.

He had decided that if he could survive this time, he would return to his Sect in Jiu Zhou and ascend to the Real Lake Realm.

He was no longer a match for Lu Ye in the Cloud River Realm, so he could only hope to defeat him by becoming a Real Lake Realm Master.

While he was in his thoughts, he suddenly felt an aura locking onto him from a distance.

Shocked, he turned his head and saw a vague yet familiar figure that was covered in red light. Even though the figure seemed slow, the person was rapidly approaching him.

[He’s moving so fast!]

Xia Liang gritted his teeth as his power surged. However, he had reached his limit, so he couldn’t move faster.

Fortunately, the City of Heavens was already in sight. As he estimated Lu Ye’s speed and the distance between them while looking at the city gates, he felt hopeful.

[I have a chance to sneak into the Divine Trade Association!]

He had a strong desire to survive, and his vitality seemed to be burning.

Seeing as he was getting closer to the City of Heavens, he was about to let out a breath when he heard Lu Ye saying, “Do you seriously think you can run away from me?”

The next moment, Lu Ye accelerated his speed, and their gap shortened in an instant.

When Lu Ye was only a Fifth-Order Master, he could already fly as fast as Xia Liang. Now that he was an Eighth-Order Master, no one on Cloud River Battlefield could fly faster than him.

Only then did Xia Liang realise the speed Lu Ye had been showcasing wasn’t his limit, but he had no idea why the latter only raced after him slowly.

Soon enough, he came to the realisation that Lu Ye not only wanted to kill him but also humiliate him.

Lu Ye had deliberately let him see the hope of surviving, but he crushed the hope at the most critical moment.

How merciless was he?

The aura that had locked onto Xia Liang solidified as Lu Ye was getting closer.

Xia Liang looked at the City of Heavens which wasn’t far away, but he knew he couldn’t make it inside.

All of a sudden, he appeared determined as he turned around and charged towards his opponent with a gaze filled with resoluteness and ferocity.

Since he couldn’t flee, he decided to get into a life-and-death battle with Lu Ye.

Soon enough, the two figures crashed into each other as they unsheathed their sabers at the same time and slashed across one another.

Their Spiritual Powers exploded. At first glance, it looked like two mini Suns appeared in the sky out of nowhere.

The stalemate had only lasted for a moment before one of them was sent flying away while spraying out a mouthful of blood in mid-air. The Spiritual Light around him weakened and revealed Xia Liang’s battered figure.

When he besieged Lu Ye with the other cultivators earlier, he had exchanged several moves with the man, but he suffered a setback every time. Therefore, he was already injured in the first place.

Considering his current state, it wasn’t surprising that he would end up in a terrible state by clashing with Lu Ye head-on.

He tried to stabilise himself in mid-air, but Lu Ye reached him just then and wielded his saber at him.

Xia Liang was the core disciple of Raving Bladesmen, after all. Despite being at a disadvantage, he never thought about giving up resistance.

He lifted his saber and accurately warded off Lu Ye’s attack, but before he could take a breather, Lu Ye extended his other hand towards his opponent’s face.

An immense power exploded from his palm.

Xia Liang felt that he was struck in the face. His unstable figure uncontrollably fell from the sky like a meteorite.

A moment later, he crashed into a spot that was 90 metres away from the City of Heavens, forming a pit in the ground. He started seeing Stars, and his entire body was limp. It was apparent that many of his bones had been fractured.

Presently, many cultivators were entering and leaving the city. When they saw the fight, they stopped in their tracks and watched.

“Lu Yi Ye!” someone exclaimed, recognising Lu Ye at once.

Following that, more people saw Lu Ye, and at that moment, many of them were tempted to make a move.

But soon, another person was heard exclaiming, “Xia Liang of Raving Bladesmen?”

The person who recognised Xia Liang plunged into a state of disbelief, almost thinking that he was mistaken.

Raving Bladesmen was a Tier-One Sect, and Xia Liang was one of the strongest in his generation. He had already made a name for himself when he was on Spirit Creek Battlefield, and he was also famous on Cloud River Battlefield. It could be said that he was one of the most powerful cultivators on Cloud River Battlefield.

Rarely anyone in the Cloud River Realm could defeat him.

Nevertheless, a formidable cultivator like him now looked so battered, and the person who defeated him was the notorious Lu Ye.

No one understood what was going on.

In mid-air. Lu Ye held his saber and walked down diagonally. It was as though there were invisible stairs beneath his feet. Despite his composure, he carried with him a violent aura.

He certainly saw the tempted cultivators of Thousand Demon Ridge, but he wasn’t bothered.

He had dealt with more than 200 people earlier, and he could do the same now. Whoever dared get in his way would be killed.

He was fine with slaughtering more people in front of the City of Heavens.

Inside the pit, Xia Liang rose to his feet with difficulty. Unable to suppress the blood from rising in his throat, he sprayed out a blood mist.

His vision was blurred as he looked at the strange yet familiar figure before his eyes. He knew that he had lost the fight to Lu Ye, whom he had been tangled up with for nearly a year.

There was no doubt the loser had to pay a hefty price.

The City of Heavens was only 90 feet behind him, but he no longer had a chance to enter it.

He spat out the blood in his mouth and held his saber in one hand. His weak aura wavered. His eyes were out of focus, and they were filled with the longing to live, but he didn’t regret anything.

A memory from the past sprang back into his mind, and following that, he growled, “Go to Hell!”

He was fearless. Despite being badly injured, he launched the last attack against his enemy.

That was because his life or death wasn’t just about himself; it would affect the reputation of Raving Bladesmen as well.

Lu Ye also charged forward as the two of them brushed past each other.

While standing still, Lu Ye swung the blood off his blade and put the saber back into the sheath. Then, he said in a small voice, “The feud between us ends here.”

Xia Liang was rooted to the spot. His head lowered and his vitality was leaving him fast. The saber that had been jabbed into the ground made sure he wouldn’t collapse.

The entire place was dead silent. All the cultivators who saw the fight, be they from the Grand Sky Coalition or Thousand Demon Ridge, were puzzled and astounded.

They didn’t know what had happened before this, but at the most critical moment, they witnessed Lu Ye killing Xia Liang of Raving Bladesmen.

The tempted cultivators of Thousand Demon Ridge immediately cast the idea of attacking Lu Ye away. Although Lu Ye looked battered and blood-soaked, his tyrannical aura was as dazzling as the Sun in the sky.

All of them had a feeling that if they made a move now, they would be killed instead.

They watched as Lu Ye stepped into the City of Heavens until he was out of sight. No one dared stop him.

He didn’t retrieve any reward, for Xia Liang didn’t have a Storage Bag. He reckoned that just like himself, Xia Liang had a Void Tattoo.

Xia Liang was from a Tier-One Sect, so it wasn’t hard for him to get a Glyphweaver to make a Void Tattoo for him.

A long time after Lu Ye was gone, some cultivators of Thousand Demon Ridge stepped forward and took Xia Liang’s corpse away.

An hour later, a piece of shocking news spread quickly.

Xia Liang of Raving Bladesmen, Tan Sheng of New Moon Sect, Chu Yun and Zhou Pei of Cult Blackfyre, and around 200 people of Thousand Demon Ridge had hunted Lu Ye down, but he managed to defeat them on his own.

Chu Yun and Zhou Pei were killed on the spot, and only around 40 per cent of the people were lucky enough to escape. Then, Tan Sheng was murdered, and Lu Ye ran after Xia Liang all the way to the City of Heavens.

Around 90 metres away from the city, everyone watched as the core disciple of Raving Bladesmen was eliminated.

According to the cultivators of Thousand Demon Ridge who had survived, the power Lu Ye had showcased this time far exceeded what was possible in the Cloud River Realm. Moreover, his robust physique and ample vitality made sure that he only suffered some flesh wounds, and he wasn’t affected one bit. That was why he could pull off such an amazing feat.
