Amber rarely had a chance to fight with an opponent head-on. Usually, the tiger would crouch down on Lu Ye’s shoulder and lend him its power while the latter fought his enemies.

Since there was finally a chance, Amber was appreciative of it. The tiger didn’t even turn into its true form, intending to contend with the opponent with its cat-sized figure. Despite that, the tiger was confident it could defeat the opponent.

In the Divine Trade Association back then, Lu Ye’s cultivation increased from the Sixth Order to the Eighth Order, and the powers of Yi Yi and Amber had grown tremendously as well.

Even if Amber never fully activated its power, it could easily defeat a Fifth-Order Master.

The cultivator’s emotions turned from fury to shock, and then despair. Several dozen breaths of time later, he admitted defeat. Since he couldn’t even defeat his opponent’s Tamed Beast, there wasn’t a reason to go on fighting. After that, his figure disappeared.

Lu Ye was soon sent out of the arena, and he went on to the next match. He did the same thing over and over again.

The powers of the cultivators he came across varied, ranging from the First Order to the Ninth Order. Lu Ye had no idea how the participants were matched, but he reckoned it was random.

If the opponent was weak, Lu Ye would tell Amber to fight on his behalf. He would only take part in the fight if the opponent was in the Seventh Order or above.

Some battles ended before they even started because the opponents recognised Lu Ye.

He had killed Xia Liang right in front of the City of Heavens, so he was considered one of the strongest Cloud River Realm Masters now. An average cultivator wouldn’t dare contend with him upon recognising him.

Since everyone could fight in 100 matches, one to two defeats didn’t matter.

Sometimes, when Lu Ye returned from the arena, he would come across Li Baxian and the others. He would chat with them for a moment before moving on to the next match.

He was efficient as it didn’t take him seven days to fight in all 100 matches; it had taken him only two days. Unsurprisingly, he had won all the battles.

Sadly, he hadn’t accumulated a lot of battle points. He had only acquired roughly 3,000 points.

Then, he had nothing else to do. He just had to wait for the list of the top 3,000 to be announced in a few days before the next round of battles started.

He initially wanted to look into the Source of Soaring Dragon Boundary. Although several days couldn’t be considered long, he could look into the Source two to three times. If he was lucky, he might find a cultivator who used a saber.

Suddenly, he recalled another matter, so he waited in front of the Divine Opportunity Column.

Soon, the space before his eyes contorted, and a figure appeared. He was none other than Li Baxian.

There was no doubt he was efficient as well. Although he hadn’t fought 100 battles, he had completed 60 to 70 matches. He had ample heritage, but due to the fact that he was from the Devoted Ones, he lacked the skills to combat. Now that he had the Book and Sword Technique given to him by Lu Ye, he had the confidence to make it to the top 100.

He wasn’t trying to be humble, but he didn’t have the confidence to be in the top ten.

There were countless talented cultivators in the Sects of Jiu Zhou. Although Li Baxian was incredible, his cultivation was his weakness as he was only in the Seventh Order.

Many Ninth-Order Masters had deliberately put off ascending to the Real Lake Realm to take part in the Fight for Supremacy. Some people had been waiting for the event for one to two years.

During this period, their cultivation wouldn’t increase, but their heritages would be enhanced.

To people like them, even though Golden Amulets were important, they valued the Gift of Providence even more. Therefore, they would do their best to make it to the top ten.

“Is there anything you need to tell me?” Li Baxian instantly realised that Lu Ye was waiting for him.

“I have to go back to the main Sect,” Lu Ye replied.

“Now?” After giving it some thought, Li Baxian said, “Alright, then. You can go ahead.”

The Fight for Supremacy would last for a month, and after a cultivator left the Cloud River Battlefield, he could only come back one month later. If Lu Ye departed now, he could return when the Fight for Supremacy was over.

“I’ll inform the others about it.”

“I’ll take my leave, then.”

With that, Lu Ye was ready to depart. He pressed his hand against the Divine Opportunity Column, and as a thought flashed across his mind, the view around him contorted.

The next moment, he appeared in the Sanctum of Providence in the Crimson Blood Sect.

He didn’t immediately look for the Sect Master or Shui Yuan. Instead, he tapped his Battlefield Imprint and found a particular Brand, then he sent a message.

A moment later, he received a reply from the other party. ‘I’ll see you in the usual place.’

Lu Ye arched his brow, for there seemed to be a hidden meaning behind the message, especially when the person was a charming woman.

He didn’t think too deeply about it as he pressed his hand against the Divine Opportunity Column and connected his soul to the Vault of Providence before muttering, “Upgrade a Spirit Artifact.”

Following that, he appeared in a sealed space with a stone platform in front of him, and there was nothing else.

Not long after he entered the place, a figure appeared before his eyes. She was a fair-skinned woman in her thirties. The floral print dress she was clad in outlined her curvy figure.

Since they were familiar with each other, there wasn’t a need for small talk.

Lu Ye took off his Inviolable Saber from his waist and placed it on the stone platform.

The reason he left the Cloud River Battlefield and returned to Jiu Zhou was that he wanted to seize the chance to upgrade his Inviolable Saber.

Since his power had increased rapidly, the quality of the saber could no longer match his power.

Initially, the Inviolable Saber was only a nonuple enchantment Low-Grade Spirit Artifact, then it became Middle Grade and now High Grade.

Considering his current power, a High-Grade Spirit Artifact could no longer allow him to fully activate his power. He had already felt it when he dealt with 200 people of Thousand Demon Ridge on his own back then. He had activated all of his power, but he could only use 90 per cent of it. That was the result of the Spirit Artifact’s quality not matching his increase in power.

Moreover, Lu Ye had been using the saber to fight his enemies for a long time. Regardless of how sturdy the weapon was, there was already some damage to it. The damage wouldn’t affect much, but if he ignored it, it would have a negative impact on the weapon and its durability.

The Inviolable Saber had gone through two upgrades with the help of this woman who called herself Master Yu.

Certainly, Lu Ye could look for someone else, but if he did, he wouldn’t have an idea how skilful the person was. At the very least, he had confidence in Master Yu’s skills.

Previously, they had exchanged Brands of their Battlefield Imprints, and he looked for her this time to upgrade his weapon.

He was certain that Master Yu was above the Cloud River Realm. She was in the Real Lake Realm at the very least, and it was likely that she was in the Divine Ocean Realm.

If Lu Ye wanted to contact her, he had to come back to Jiu Zhou, for he couldn’t get in touch with her on the Cloud River Battlefield.

Any other cultivator wouldn’t make changes to his weapon at a critical period such as the Fight for Supremacy, for that might affect his activation of power.

Any cultivator who wanted to make it to the top 100 would try to ensure they were in tip-top condition.

Nevertheless, Lu Ye did the opposite. Others would be shocked if they found out about it.

In front of the stone platform, the woman examined Lu Ye as though trying to make out his face. From the woman’s perspective, Lu Ye was shrouded in a fog. She couldn’t even see his figure clearly, let alone his visage.

This was the Heavens’ way of protecting the identities of both parties in a trade.

However, this kind of concealment was meaningless to Lu Ye, who had the Gift of Providence. In this place, he seemed to have rights that others didn’t possess, so he could see the woman’s face clearly.

“Aren’t you a Cloud River Realm Master?” asked the woman with a doubtful expression. Her voice sounded like that of an old person. Those who couldn’t see her appearance might think she was an old lady.

“What’s the problem with that?”

“The Fight for Supremacy is ongoing now. Why have you come to look for me to upgrade your weapon instead of taking part in it?”

Although she was above the Cloud River Realm, she had naturally heard that the Fight for Supremacy had started. After all, she was a participant back then.

She speculated that Lu Ye was a Cloud River Realm Master because the Inviolable Saber was a High-Grade Spirit Artifact, and the person who could use it must be in the Cloud River Realm.

Certainly, Lu Ye wouldn’t tell her that he had fought all 100 matches. He only replied impassively, “What’s wrong? Do you have to look into my background before doing business with me?”

The woman coughed. “It’s not that. I’m just asking. Since you don’t want to tell me, I’ll stop asking, little friend.”

She then picked up the Inviolable Saber and took a look before nodding. “Let’s talk about your demands.”

“I want you to make it a Spell Artifact, and the other demands are the same as before.”

A Spirit Artifact could have a maximum of 36 enchantments, and it would be a Spell Artifact beyond that.

Only then did the woman realise what was going on.

It was no wonder Lu Ye didn’t take part in the Fight for Supremacy, for he was in the Real Lake Realm. That was because only a Real Lake Realm Master could use a Spell Artifact.

Certainly, a Ninth-Order Cloud River Realm Master with an ample heritage could use it as well, but it would be too energy-consuming.

“This saber is only of High Grade now. An average artificer can’t skip the Top Grade and directly make it a Spell Artifact…” She was trying to imply that she was no average artificer, and she was waiting for Lu Ye to ask more.

Nevertheless, the man didn’t seem to have any intention of responding to her. As such, she could only continue, “I’ll need a lot of materials as well, and they’re costly…”

“State a price!” Lu Ye interrupted her. Having come into contact with the woman on several occasions, he came to the realisation that, regardless of whether she was in the Real Lake Realm or the Divine Ocean Realm, she was poor. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken on the task of upgrading his Low-Grade Inviolable Saber to the Middle Grade back then.

Moreover, it seemed that she didn’t want people to know that she was an artificer. Otherwise, she could’ve amassed a lot of wealth using her skills.

Therefore, Lu Ye was fine with the woman coming up with a higher-than-usual price as long as she could meet his demands. He didn’t mind giving her more Contribution points.

He still had over 100,000 Contribution points. Even if he had used them up, he could get some resources from the vault in his Sect and sell them to the Vault of Providence.

“30,000!” The woman gritted her teeth and quoted a price she thought was exorbitant. Following several encounters, Lu Ye had come to realise what she was like, and it was the same case for the woman.

Regardless of the man’s background, it was apparent that he didn’t lack money. Since it was rare for the woman to have a client, she definitely wanted to earn more money from him.
