Realized Game: I Hoarded 10 Billion Defense Towers

But after the boss died, the cylindrical target that should have appeared to clear this ring of the Game World was nowhere to be seen.

This stunned Shen Fei.

Isn’t this the strongest being in the *Soul Fighter* game?

They had killed the Fire Dragon Boss from Father Shen’s memories, the one with an astronomical amount of health, yet the item needed to clear this ring still hadn’t appeared. Shen Fei knew in an instant that they had killed the wrong thing. This Fire Dragon Boss, with health in the quadrillions, was probably not their true target.

”Hm?”

”Hm?”

”Hm?”

As Shen Fei frowned, the others quickly noticed something was wrong too. The boss was dead, but the attackable cylinder that would open the link between this Game World and the others still hadn’t appeared. It was obvious that this wasn’t the objective.

”Look!”

”There’s some text over there!”

Just as everyone was frowning and Father Shen was slapping his head, trying to remember what was going on, the sharp-eyed [Young Master Void] suddenly pointed at the fallen Fire Dragon Boss.

WHOOSH.

All eyes shifted in an instant. Only then did everyone see a small line of text floating above the massive corpse of the Fire Dragon Boss.

The boss’s corpse wasn’t blasted to pieces? Is its body protected by the world’s rules, making it indestructible?!

Looking at the boss’s corpse and the text above it, a few theories surfaced in everyone’s minds. Based on the speed at which the Fire Dragon Boss’s health bar had been depleted and their prior experience, its corpse should have vanished into thin air. Yet, the corpse remained. Everyone understood this was an intentional clue.

The clue itself was the small line of text above the boss’s head: [1/3]. The text was a fraction, displayed as 1/3.

Does this mean we have to kill three of these bosses? The moment he saw the fraction, an answer formed in Shen Fei’s mind. Is this a new minor rule for the seventeenth ring, now that we’ve entered a new phase? From now on, is the ’strongest being in the world’ we need to kill to pass no longer just a single entity?

Exchanging a look with his teammates, Shen Fei felt certain of his conclusion.

”Damn!”

”Then let’s keep going!”

Because of the small text above the boss’s head, everyone also noticed that beneath the still-existing corpse, a Teleportation Gate had appeared at the location of its anus. Although the location was utterly ridiculous, the Teleportation Gate was definitely there.

Combining this with the ”1/3” above the boss’s head, everyone knew that to clear the seventeenth ring of the Game World, they needed to step into the Teleportation Gate and find the other two bosses.

”Let’s go!”

Although the Teleportation Gate’s location was in rather poor taste, time was of the essence. Still unaware of what the strongest, eighteenth ring would be like, the group reined in their emotions and quickly stepped onto the Teleportation Gate. They had to clear the preceding Game Worlds as fast as possible to save more time for the final, most powerful 18th ring.

WHOOSH.

The instant they stepped on the Teleportation Gate, a bright light flashed. The six-person squad’s vision blurred, and the environment around them changed. If before they had been fighting in a two-dimensional city, they now appeared in a wild plain—or rather, a new two-dimensional world made up of terraced fields and grasslands. In this new area, their vision was filled with high platforms, green grass, and even strangely flowing two-dimensional rivers.

”Let’s go!”

Having successfully entered the new map, Shen Fei knew his guess had been correct. The next step was to continue steamrolling everything.

Although this two-dimensional Game World was a single, flat plane, and they recognized it as *Soul Fighter*, it was also heavily modified. Furthermore, Father Shen, the only one who had ever played the game, had unreliable memories that came and went. However, their exploration before the Fire Dragon Boss had taught them one thing: as long as they mindlessly pushed forward in this two-dimensional world, they would eventually encounter the boss. They wouldn’t end up following a path to a dead end, their efforts all for nothing.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Now that he knew the world’s rules, knew the boss was somewhere up ahead, and especially since he knew his 500 Defense Towers’ Cluster Attacks were now Invincible, with a strength so immense that nothing could measure its upper limit, Shen Fei’s speed in killing monsters instantly increased. With a clear goal, he no longer had any intention of exploring or testing things out. He just needed to activate his most powerful skills and rapidly fire off beam after beam of powerful Cluster Attacks.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

With his attacks at full throttle and under the effect of the [Array Plate], as long as the Defense Towers didn’t use their ultimate abilities, their various attacks’ cooldowns became almost instantaneous. Under Shen Fei’s lead, the various traps, cavalry, wild wolves, bats, and other enemies that appeared along the way were all one-shot.

If it weren’t for being in a special two-dimensional world where terrain transitions were peculiar, discrete jumps, Shen Fei would have even wanted to unleash his strongest attack and blast a straight tunnel of annihilation through all living things.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

But even if his 2D form prevented him from carving out a three-dimensional, cylindrical path, Shen Fei was still incredibly fast. Having intentionally picked up the pace, he advanced by annihilating monsters at ten times his previous speed. Behind him followed his five teammates, who had completely given up on contributing.

If one person on a team is strong, that’s a good thing for their teammates. But if one person is *too* strong, that’s a *great* thing for their teammates. The other five, including Father Shen, after witnessing how Shen Fei could mindlessly brute-force his way even through a two-dimensional world, had simply resigned themselves to being carried.
