Realized Game: I Hoarded 10 Billion Defense Towers

”I know you’re capable!”

”Son, you’re my pride!”

Father Shen had heard the air-raid siren, too. Taking advantage of the chaos, he finally said what he had been wanting to say for a long time, then quickly hung up the phone.

”Mom! Shen Yue!” Shen Fei shouted, hearing a commotion from the next room after hanging up. ”You two get some rest, it’s fine! I’ve got this!”

A monster tide? I’m not afraid of that at all! Defense Towers are made for fighting monster tides! I won’t just up and move before Neutral Cities appear, no matter who comes. With 61 Tenth-Tier Defense Towers at my disposal, I could have smashed the head of even Magnus from my past life right into his own ass! The whole point of Defense Towers is to hold the command center and repel enemies from a thousand miles away! It’s about annihilating tides of monsters with a single thought! It’s about unlimited varieties of attacks...

”Sleep? How can we sleep?!” Mrs. Shen’s voice cut through his thoughts, her actions a direct contradiction to his words. ”The neighborhood watch sent out a notice! Everyone is to prepare for evacuation! They said a monster tide is coming! Get up, quickly! We have to get ready to evacuate! They’ve already ordered a full-scale evacuation of the city!”

The blaring air-raid sirens were accompanied by all sorts of emergency evacuation orders, which Mrs. Shen had already received.

”Don’t be afraid. We have the Golden Celestial Horse, so there’s nothing to worry about,” Shen Fei said, trying to reassure his mother and sister, who were already standing by the door. Since he couldn’t explain everything in detail, he added, ”Besides, Dad and Uncle Sun are still at the Tourism Management Office. We should wait for them!”

”Alright, really, don’t worry!”

He shot his sister, Shen Yue, a look, silently asking her to calm their mother down. Shen Fei’s focus then returned to the Detection Tower. He wanted to see for himself this Undead Calamity that hadn’t occurred in his past life and find out why it was happening in Qing City this time.

WHOOSH.

WHOOSH.

WHOOSH.

His vision switched back to the perspective of the Detection Tower. Shen Fei’s gaze swept past the rapidly forming defense line, continuing northward. Soon, his field of view filled with Skeleton Monsters composed entirely of bone. Amidst the dense, overwhelming horde, he could also see elite Skeleton Monsters—some wielding bows, others enormous in size, and some with bestial forms. As his gaze pushed further north, he even saw Undead Mages riding atop Bone Dragons.

An endless tide of Skeleton Monsters, blotting out the very landscape, surged toward Qing City. Viewed from high above, a dense carpet of black dots stretched to the horizon.

Qing City Airport?

When his vision reached the Detection Tower’s 50-kilometer limit, Shen Fei saw the source of the Undead Calamity: Qing City Airport. The source of this sudden, unprecedented Undead Calamity was actually the airport—a place he had visited before. He even remembered looting an item there called [Source of the Skull Nest].

Son of a...

Shen Fei didn’t know if this was all due to his own butterfly effect. After all, there were similarities between the [Skull Nest] and the current Undead Calamity, which consisted mostly of skeletons. Seeing that the calamity originated from Qing City Airport, he knew that the city would not be spared.

Based on his experience from his past life, once an Undead Calamity formed, its first move was to sweep a one-hundred-kilometer radius, gathering corpses and bones. Qing City’s main urban district, 50 kilometers away, was right in the path of its sweep.

The 4.1 update came early, and all sorts of monsters are crawling out of the woodwork!

Watching the immense, dense tide of Skeleton Monsters pouring out of the airport, Shen Fei knew this was all because of the version 4.1 update.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

While Shen Fei observed the Skeleton Monsters’ movements and analyzed the reason for the monster tide, the newly formed defense line opened fire once more.

The Undead Calamity’s main characteristic was the endless number of Skeleton Monsters. However, their Individual Combat Power was not very high. The ordinary skeletons that served as cannon fodder, numbering in the hundreds of millions, only had two or three health points. As they opened fire again, the Grizzly Tanks, with a range of five to six kilometers, could shatter these grunts from a great distance.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

As over a thousand Grizzly Tanks opened fire again, weapons from the military and the public security bureau all joined the barrage. Players who had inherited game abilities, joined the Tourism Management Office, and possessed ultra-long-range attacks also joined the fray.

At this moment, everyone was pessimistic about their chances of stopping the Undead Calamity. Based on the experiences of other cities and even other countries, this kind of monster tide was unstoppable. But behind them was the city they called home. Their surviving loved ones needed time to evacuate Qing City, and it was up to them to buy it. Therefore, after Brother Zhang and his Grizzly Tanks formed a defense line, the ranks of defenders quickly swelled. Everyone’s goal was to buy time for their loved ones to escape.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Thousands of Grizzly Tanks fired in unison, instantly blanketing an area five to six kilometers wide. The Skeleton Monsters in the area, facing tanks with infinite ammunition, were instantly blown to smithereens. The few that slipped through in the area beyond five to six kilometers were quickly eliminated by other players. With a deafening volley of cannon fire, the dense tide of surging Skeleton Monsters was halted several kilometers from the defense line, forming the first line of resistance.

”We have to hold for at least an hour!”

”Three hours would be even better!”

”According to the evacuation team in the rear, it’ll take over ten minutes just to mobilize the survivors!”

At the front line, Li Yunlong, director of the Tourism Management Office, quickly spoke to Zhang Qiqiang, the one with the most firepower.

”Alright!” Zhang Qiqiang replied. ”I’ll give it everything I’ve got!”

Brother Zhang’s real name was Zhang Qiqiang. Living in the northern part of the city, he had inherited another 500 Grizzly Tanks tonight. He had also been the first to spot the Undead Calamity and had immediately begun organizing the defensive perimeter.

”Good!” Li Yunlong, now dressed in a combat uniform, gave a firm nod and turned to look beside him.

Beside him, the honorary director of the Tourism Management Office, Father Shen, suddenly materialized a golden artillery vehicle behind him, one no smaller than a Grizzly Tank.

FWOOSH!

At Father Shen’s command, a golden cannonball, blazing like a miniature sun, shot out from the artillery vehicle.

BOOM!

The golden cannonball landed, and within a hundred-meter radius of the impact, every Skeleton Monster was instantly blasted to smithereens.

”Ah!!” Li Yunlong was startled all over again. He never expected that his old squad leader, Father Shen, would have a golden artillery vehicle in addition to that golden guardian. Moreover, the power of this artillery piece was no weaker than that of the imposing Grizzly Tanks lined up beside it.

”Look!”

Just as he was about to ask Father Shen what kind of ability he had inherited, another change occurred on the distant battlefield. Everyone saw a red aura suddenly light up around the bodies of the advancing Skeleton Monsters. As the red auras appeared, the monsters’ speed instantly increased tenfold.

WHOOSH.

WHOOSH.

WHOOSH.

Through their binoculars, the defenders on the line saw red auras appearing one after another. In the blink of an eye, every Skeleton Monster in sight was covered in a speed-boosting aura.

But that wasn’t all.

After the red speed auras appeared, green, blue, and yellow auras quickly descended upon them as well. With these multicolored auras boosting them, the originally weak Skeleton Monsters’ speed, attack, defense, and size all instantly increased tenfold. The ordinary Skeleton Monsters instantly transformed into massive elites.

SWOOSH!

SWOOSH!

SWOOSH!

The Skeleton Monsters, now enhanced by the various auras, began to run again. This time, things were different.

In the blink of an eye, the supposedly secure first line of defense was breached. Although the phalanx of Grizzly Tanks had unlimited ammunition, their rate of fire was not instantaneous. They could no longer wipe out every single one of the accelerated Skeleton Monsters. The sped-up monsters quickly broke through the artillery blockade, closing to within a kilometer of the defensive perimeter.
