Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2011: Chapter 2006: Instant Cast

Humph!

When it comes to benevolence, whether it’s my Heaven’s Commencement Institute or Rebirth, we’ve never been inferior to others.

In the midst of the terrifying tremors, successfully turning Mr. Feng Sr. into an even finer mist of blood, Fu Qian felt no pride, considering it a routine operation.

As for the unconventional?

The ground seems a bit too hard.

Observing Nepheli’s corpse, the only one still retaining some form, Fu Qian’s gaze quickly fell to the ground below.

The normally unbearable force of a High Tier Transcendent’s stomp only shattered a layer of floor coating, revealing flawless black beneath.

As various remnants were being absorbed into it, the blackness rapidly spread, becoming omnipresent in the blink of an eye.

And the newborn Nepheli was carrying had already crawled in before this, the crying never ceasing.

The only comfort might be that it perfectly merged into those elusive cries.

So not only is it as guessed, that miracle had already been activated several times, but all the newborns gained after its successful activation were already hiding here in advance?

The speculation was confirmed, but it was by no means good news.

Because for Fu Qian, the omnipresent blackness seemed to be somewhere—perhaps the Mental World from which he had been denied entry multiple times.

It wasn’t that Fu Qian heard any whispering souls; quite the opposite, he heard nothing at all.

Just like during the second test arranged beneath the Benevolence Institute.

Su Gao, who successfully entered the Mental World, reported that the scene was different from before; he had entered a completely dead silent dark zone, as if part of the Mental World had died.

At that time, it was understood to be caused by that miracle, not only attracting the ark but its power even affecting the Mental World.

Therefore, if entering a dark field where others’ minds can be heard, the overall logic wouldn’t align.

After all, according to the previous speculation, that miracle is very likely the reappearance of the doomsday before our eyes.

Yet, during the actual apocalyptic scene, the Mental World wasn’t affected, and many things would need to be reevaluated.

...

Was this the first time being pushed into this place with the help of the Mother of the Gospel?

Although the motives were questionable, it didn’t stop Fu Qian from cherishing this hard-won opportunity, keeping all his senses attuned to the movements around him.

Indeed there was only the cry, coupled with the resonant and powerful Gospel.

Apart from that, there wasn’t a hint of the ”pleasant sound” Su Gao mentioned, nor could the edges of the silent area be felt.

Even the texture in movement here was completely unlike drifting in the Sea of Souls.

Is this what they say about different circles not blending easily? Even if one forces their way in, it’s of no use.

At that moment, Fu Qian didn’t doubt his judgment but proceeded to derive a further explanation.

Is the collective Sea of Souls truly an untouchable land for outsiders?

Why is that?

Knowing that the newborns, seemingly imbued with some of the Mother of the Gospel’s power, could easily hide inside.

That being monitored outside the barrier, bent on world destruction, was a malevolent Superior Being.

Besides the lack of rights for outsiders, the core logic remains unanswered, but today’s insights were considerable.

As for the Mother of the Gospel’s purpose for sending him here?

”... self-imprisonment.”

As Fu Qian locked onto the wandering cries, the first recognizable piece of information emerged, coming from the head in his hand.

After snapping Nepheli’s neck previously, it had remained in his hand, yet as a Second Phase Transcendent under the effect of the four halos, hadn’t rapidly led to Annihilation.

Fu Qian was rather clear that she was still quite far from death.

She was indeed the sole individual here receiving additional favor from the Mother of the Gospel.

Though the incomplete message wasn’t vocally expressed, rather some form of surging intent.

Simultaneously, with a fleeting moment, the traces of the cries captured from a Superior Being’s perspective vanished into thin air.

Vision, hearing, perception...all means of capturing information shrank to within an arm’s reach.

...

Is this the ”self-imprisonment”?

Even though he had only received fragmented words, it didn’t hinder Fu Qian from discerning what occurred.

A Miracle.

Though there was neither a sacrifice nor movement, not even an actual utterance of a ”spell,” Nepheli managed to activate a miracle just now.

Such a straightforward method to restrict the Abandonment King’s power, what else could it be but divine means.

No wonder she, inspired by the Gospel, could channel divine strength, circumventing ceremonial formalities.

Hence, unless he rapidly employed all means to thoroughly Annihilate Nepheli, it’d be challenging to prevent the miracle’s activation.

Fu Qian didn’t believe he had a chance to thoroughly Annihilate her.

From then till now, the Mother of the Gospel’s stance seemed merely to be contemplating allocating strength to him.

If he reacted too aggressively, the Mother’s response would likely differ.

As for what the miracle aimed to achieve?

Before Fu Qian could exert force, Nepheli, seemingly mission-completed, had her head and body rot simultaneously, silently permeating the darkness.

What else could it do, not hurtful, nor exploiting the chance to attack, merely slowing down his ability to find those cries around, effectively trapping him here to unilaterally receive the Gospel’s enlightenment.

...

After meeting setbacks in violent eradication, the ”Jade Soul Master” initiated a rather ideal backup plan.

Throwing the ”Heart Demon” into the moment of past apocalypse, facing the terrifying force of world destruction.

Clearly, less capable of commanding the Mother of the Gospel, so that the scene didn’t appear very fierce, the latter didn’t engage him in melee immediately.

Yet the Mother of the Gospel’s targeted approach was incredibly appropriate.

Never forget, his state of being the Abandonment King is timed.

Not eager for a head-on collision, the Mother directly employed control over the Mental World to confine him, almost the best handling.

If time drags on, he can’t afford it, and even if he returns to the city, considering previous experiences, what’s more, he’d return in the same state?

The cage most likely wouldn’t lift automatically.

Not to mention, as an outsider, he naturally isn’t harmonious with the Mental World, increasing the difficulty of locating those cries to handle the Gospel, especially now with an added layer of constraint.

For his opponent, everything is indeed the best arrangement—but so what?

Having seen such splendor, as recompense, he is entitled to witness more of the Abandonment King’s glory.

Souls wither because of you, physical bodies bestowed with eternal tranquility.

Not a Spiritual Guide, yet in making one serene, the Abandonment King has his ways—

No longer attempting to search for traces of the cries, even the armor vanished at that moment, in the brilliance of Decree Residue’s light, Fu Qian leaned back slightly.

Tendril Barrage Devastator!

The endless tentacles ignited by Divine Power blasted in all directions, into the darkness even he couldn’t perceive.

Adorned not with ferocious scales or fangs, but with endless mad golden flames.

The legendary ominous fire, burning in the Land of Self-Abandonment.
