Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2009: Chapter 2004: The Destruction That Once Was

There’s a feeling of being thrown to the end of time, so did Doomsday really happen?

While deeply aware of his own tragic situation, Fu Qian did not forget to ponder that core question.

He even recalled Su Gao’s mother’s dual-ending story.

Although it could completely be due to a strong creative urge, if taken as an unofficial history, some logics surprisingly fit together—

Doomsday really did occur, starting from the current position...

The barrier vaguely mentioned in the previous task summary is real, the Mother of the Gospel took a different path, eventually causing the Academy’s people to stir up great trouble, successfully breaking through...

The miracle beneath the Benevolence Institute is indeed likely related to Doomsday, and it could only be initiated nearby because Doomsday descended here at the time...

The ”ark” that drifted through space and time for a thousand years was also drawn here for this reason, docking at its original hometown launch point...

This hometown was endowed with some kind of Extraordinary Attribute associated with a Superior Being named Melia, who is suspected to symbolize herself with a snow tree...

Additionally, the most crucial point is that this Doomsday occurred very recently, far from being a millennium ago, to the extent that familiar acquaintances could be inside...

It sounds quite reasonable, the only question now is—where did Doomsday go?

It landed successfully, so why was the Mother of the Gospel still sneaking around at Silver Mist Manor not long ago?

It couldn’t possibly be a completely unrelated parallel universe, could it?

Of course not.

Most of the aforementioned things have clearly happened in the reality he experienced.

So the answer is—a false history?

Almost as soon as he raised the question, a thought naturally appeared in Fu Qian’s mind.

Just like those completed tasks, the original course of history would change because of him.

Could that Doomsday have been handled in the same way, eventually becoming a false history?

The flourishing era of the Benevolence Institute also resulted from the butterfly effect of these handling methods.

...

Uncertain whether the Red Moon’s repetitive reminder of ”not to indulge in lies” is referring to this.

But the more he understood this seemingly glamorous Supernatural World, the more devastated it appeared.

More tragically, he seemed to be the one patching the holes.

Even doing so blindfolded, with very little intelligence support.

At a certain moment, Fu Qian sighed and clasped his hands together.

Boom!

The dark flame in his palm burst open.

What followed wasn’t scalding, but rather like a jet spraying in all directions.

The glove hardly provided any barrier, and blood mist spurted out forcefully.

Madness, chaos, unstoppable... It was indeed a familiar taste, almost identical to the feeling at Silver Mist Manor.

Simultaneously, similar disturbances appeared in every surrounding corner.

The scattered dark flames were not limited to this one; it seemed as if Fu Qian’s action triggered a chain reaction, and in the blink of an eye, the jets almost formed a continuous sheet, and even the spectators were not spared.

Most of them displayed a significantly weaker resistance, so much so that it could be described as a true blood mist flying—yet no one took any action.

As if oblivious, everyone maintained the posture of looking ahead.

Even though they never got to see their own face.

”Why don’t you believe?”

However, with their face punctured countless times, it didn’t stop them from speaking in unison in the next moment.

”Doesn’t look alike.”

Under pressure, Fu Qian still held to his opinion and even took a step closer to examine the premature baby held by Lady Nepheli.

”I recently spoke with someone in a similar situation; she said it looked a lot like the body that carried her.”

Lady Nepheli seemed not very adept at holding a baby, giving the impression of holding a rugby ball.

Fortunately, the object she was holding didn’t mind and merely stared quietly at him.

”I didn’t feel that way.”

Unfortunately, the group had a bit of a rebuttal personality, without even glancing at the baby before speaking in unison again.

”Doesn’t look alike—”

That’s enough.

Lady Nepheli’s next half-sentence was stuck in her throat.

Fu Qian naturally extended his hand and pinched her neck directly.

Out of courtesy, he exchanged a few verbal niceties, but enough is enough, right?

...

No one survived.

Fu Qian certainly didn’t think he was conversing with the real Nepheli.

The group now shared one mind in the truest sense, or was influenced by the same intention.

At that very moment, Fu Qian was quite sure there was an imposing lock-on, causing the Blood Conquest to lose its concealment effect precisely because of it.

The presence of the Mother of the Gospel was indeed much more dramatic than the previous projection.

And almost simultaneously, all willpower apart from his own in the space in front of him was directly annihilated.

On one hand, it was naturally due to the good habit of casually initiating Pseudo-Divine Being, and on the other hand, the elites of the Academy, especially Lady Nepheli, were not that weak.

What appeared to be no resistance was likely due to long-term victimization.

How could such a significant achievement not go through rehearsals a few times before the demonstration?

Though he hadn’t captured similar outcomes yet, Fu Qian leaned towards believing that this miracle had already been activated multiple times.

That’s also why he didn’t make any move to stop it just now.

The outcome of Doomsday had long been unchangeable.

If there were even a chance of stopping the Mother of the Gospel while he casually made his way in, how messed up would ”Jade Soul Master” have to be not to hinder him?

As for what he intended to do, it was also obvious—

Throw him right into the Doomsday scene, crashing head-on into the aggressive Doomsday Destroyer, and get refined in an instant by this entity.

Unfortunately, given his courteous performance, the first response was merely a light rain, giving a somewhat eye-of-the-storm calmness at this moment of Doomsday.

But this is where it stops; clearly annoyed by the offense, Lady Nepheli, though not struggling, opened her mouth intending to roar.

Crack—

But when Fu Qian clasped his hands, he encountered massive resistance, indicating the Mother of the Gospel ended her appeasement policy.

Crack!

Her body suddenly expanded, with the four halos flaring up, radiating a blinding light.

Even with immense resistance, Lady Nepheli’s neck snapped crisply into two.

Ah—

All Academy members collectively fell silent at that moment, as the baby’s cries from the ground resonated with similar voices from some unknowable place deep within.

The true collapse and sweeping essence of Doomsday exploded and shattered everything, yet it seemed to ignite a fire in consciousness, making the ”self” suddenly blaze up.

Indeed, this was the genuine Gospel Blast.

In that moment, Fu Qian witnessed the authentic version of one of his skills.
