Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1832: Chapter 1807: Feather and Fish

Can fly, but only a little bit.

The new attackers constantly jumping out from the accumulated feathers, all coincidentally flapped the strange things growing on them, creating a flurry of feathers while they themselves glided through the air.

But that’s about it. Even though their bodies were as withered as twigs, the fin-shaped wings still didn’t quite fit the aerodynamics, and after a brief sustain, they landed again, stirring more feathers.

A few more agile ones used their hands and feet, clinging onto the pillars and walls.

A glance revealed a bustling scene.

They did indeed come running out of the ”Amber.” Judging from the form of their bodies alone, it’s apparent they’re still quite similar to the first two attackers.

Webbed hands and feet, fish-like gill slits, and even several fins protruding from their bodies.

If there’s a difference to point out, it might be that the extent of mutation seems deeper.

But at this moment, these details were all rendered pale under the brilliance of the feathers.

Necks, spines, and even the long fins everywhere showed signs of those gray feathers.

Some were even arranged like fish scales, and at a glance, a joyous fusion of life greeted warmly.

”Have they absorbed the wreckage?”

Perhaps because one died too cleanly before, the attackers, though fiercely watching, didn’t rush to take action, allowing Su Gao to merely confront them from afar.

Additionally, she seemed unexpectedly resistant to this sight, analyzing the cause immediately.

However, recalling the former scene in the Rotten Forest, it wasn’t hard to understand—bizarre limb mutations; she must have seen plenty since childhood.

”It’s one explanation, but their appearance is still too mediocre, unlikely to grasp that fleeting opportunity. Try those on the ground.”

Even in a watched state, Fu Qian still didn’t mind giving the Feather and Fish a poor review on the spot and signaled to Su Gao in the next moment.

”Alright.”

As he finished the last word, Su Gao had already stepped forward and swung her sword.

...

It wasn’t an early attack; even the closest Feather and Fish lagged way behind.

A flash passed by, and the force carried by the sword swept away a thick carpet of feathers, revealing underneath... a feather board?

Indeed, even as strong as Su Gao was, she couldn’t completely blow away all the feathers.

In neat rows, the very bottom layer of feathers appeared to grow directly out of the ship.

Sure enough, the expert seizing this opportunity was another master.

Following the trail, it was almost certain this place was where the Prison Angel Commander had fallen.

And that kind of violent Meteor Judgement didn’t cause obvious damage to the surroundings, further confirming the previous hypothesis of fate destruction targeting only the objective.

But being unharmed by the meteor is one thing; the collapse of a Second Order Extraordinary is not a risk these vulnerable fleshly creations can snatch from the fire.

Fortunately, there’s still a non-fleshly creation here.

In the process of the Prison Angel Commander being ground to dust, perhaps a little something was covertly retained by this ship.

Of course, in such a scenario, growing feathers like this demonstrates the closer-than-it-seems relationship between the Feather and Fish and this ship.

”Is it this ship? Its power level is indeed more fitting.”

Not being affected by the fall of a Second Order Extraordinary, and even gaining benefits reverse directionally, Su Gao obviously understood the high value of this maneuver.

The hypothesis of an ancient deity’s creation seemed increasingly substantiated.

”It should be, but how much is absorbed still needs further testing.”

Saying more tests are needed, Fu Qian didn’t move a finger, fully displaying the bearing of a consultant.

Luckily, Su Gao and the subjects of testing were quite cooperative; the former didn’t mind this division of labor, while the latter finally took action.

...

Let there be light.

Maybe because of the previous erroneous demonstration, although they acted, the Feather and Fish unexpectedly chose a distinctly different approach.

Instead of lunging from all directions, they started with a roar at their respective spots.

Though the sound was no longer human, it possessed a peculiar infectious quality.

Combining with the feathers on them seemingly purified, they turned pure white and glowed in a blink, prompting Fu Qian to naturally give them a fitting line.

And in the next moment, those feathers didn’t turn into weapons like the previous Angel Power to launch an assault.

After the roar, the Feather and Fish remained where they were, not attacking; instead, every sacred feather on them began a peculiar tremor.

And that pure white on the feathers really seemed like dust, shaken off and dispersed into the air.

Everything visible consequently turned bright.

Miraculous, an almost visual elucidation of light dispelling darkness.

Although inheriting the Prison Angel Commander’s opportunity, there appeared no attack typical of angel power users; this wasn’t strange to Fu Qian.

In essence, even if they picked up something, it should still be an elemental fusion under their dominance.

Though the fusion was somewhat unusual.

That sacred light differed from what he had faced before in more than one way.

No offensiveness, and even without losing SAN Points, one could seemingly share in the kindled hope within.

Considering the structure of this place, it seemed true as if surpassing calamity and being reborn amidst a rising sun.

”Professor Fu?”

Su Gao, originally ready for battle, decisively did not act at that moment and turned to consult the action advisor.

”How do you feel?”

But Professor Fu, who was carefully savoring, didn’t rush to answer this time but instead looked at her and asked back.

”Indeed, a very special change; not just this part of the surrounding area, it seems to affect the entire ship, but the plus side is no apparent offensiveness discovered for the time being. Should we handle them?”

Knowing Professor Fu wanted to reference her unique constitution, Su Gao finished self-examining within a single breath and quickly replied.

”It probably means nothing.”

Observing all around consistently, Fu Qian gently shook his head at these words and gestured at the side.

Mere moments later, the brightness had increased by several hundred Nits.

And this wasn’t the only highlight; on the corpse Su Gao had created, the feathers also glowed with the same tremor.

The Feather and Fish’s roars and movements, though seemingly full of momentum, might not be the core motive force for the ascent of light.

Killing them probably wouldn’t have much effect on stopping this change.

”In that case, let’s not disturb these natives.”

Fu Qian gestured toward a distant point.

”Let’s continue downward.”
