Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1811: Chapter 1786: Vulgar Fear (19)

That direction...

Filled with the fear of death, the sudden occurrence in this scene is undoubtedly stimulating to one’s nerves.

While reflecting on this, Fu Qian’s first reaction was to quickly judge the position and height, as well as the connection with the previous footsteps.

At the same time, he didn’t waste any time, directly exiting from the ladies’ restroom, ending this impolite behavior.

After exiting, Fu Qian immediately confirmed that the faint footprints indeed led towards the direction of the scream, and he followed them.

This time, he still followed the instructions not to count the room numbers, but he also didn’t hear any piano music.

Very quickly, Fu Qian arrived near the location of the scream.

Nestled in a corner of the building, particularly dark compared to other places, at a glance, it was hard to distinguish between human and ghost.

Fortunately, Fu Qian wasn’t planning to discern.

In the next moment, he stopped his steps without warning and casually flipped the switch beside him.

The light was dim, yet it still illuminated Mr. Wolf’s figure clearly.

”Need help?”

Moreover, the next moment, Fu Qian casually asked towards the front.

After quietly waiting for a few breaths, a figure with a jacket wrapped around their head slowly poked out from a corner.

”Wolf?”

After a brief eye contact, this person even directly reached out to remove the jacket, staring at Fu Qian’s face and speaking in confusion.

...

It was the person who passed by the storeroom.

For Fu Qian, it wasn’t difficult to recall the color and style of the jacket, which undoubtedly matched.

Besides, there was also the voice and face.

The campus legend that trapped him and Eva in the storeroom was not only someone who wrapped a jacket around their head, but someone he had also seen before.

One of the two assistants beside Butters at the All Fools’ Day party, the one with the exaggeratedly high nose.

And it was clear the other person also remembered him.

”Having any trouble?”

With a slight nod, watching this suspiciously doubtful student, Fu Qian didn’t even ask why he had created that previous look, instead confirming in a calm tone if help was needed.

At the party, besides Butters, the postures of the two assistants were also quite special, leaving a deep impression.

If it were a prank, their acting was barely passable at best.

But if they were truly seeking him to resolve trouble, then the motives and postures of those two were indeed intriguing.

After all, it was easy to deduce that Butters accidentally killed someone, what did it have to do with them?

It’s not like they beat the person to death, and compared to Butters, Joshua clearly seemed more familiar with them.

Yet after Butters caused trouble, he mentioned finding someone to help solve it, and they actually chose to assist?

Such actions are truly incomprehensible to any normal-minded person.

Unless they know more beyond this storyline.

This might also explain why they appeared here at this time and acted in such bizarre ways.

That’s right, if the tubby monster could be real, why can’t the shadow trailing far behind him and Eva be something as well?

Don’t forget that it’s quite probable the two of them met without a sound, back then he had thought they might have reunited victoriously.

As for why there’s only this one here now?

Simple, they could regroup and naturally they could also split up.

If they were searching or chasing something, blocking off both ends would clearly make it less likely to overlook anything.

”No...”

Unfortunately, Gao Bi, the high-nosed classmate, still appeared a bit distrustful towards him, an outsider.

Looking over here in shock while almost instinctively shaking his head at the inquiry.

”Why are you here?”

Moreover, the next moment he even asked very cautiously in response.

”Why was I at the party?”

Alas, the grand law of answering a question with a question was a skill Fu Qian had already mastered to the Master Realm.

Causing boundless speculation with one sentence, ignoring the other person’s reaction, he directly walked forward and brushed past Gao Bi, heading to the deeper area behind him in the watchful gaze.

...

Not too far away, a small window on the outer wall had already been opened.

It’s not big, but indeed big enough for a person to pass through.

Fu Qian leaned out to look, only to see a human shape curled up on the stone road below, no longer moving.

The sharp scream from earlier clearly came from this person.

As for why he would do something so harmful to himself?

Perhaps the fear brought on by having been pursued by Gao Bi, or perhaps the person on the ground didn’t actually intend to commit suicide?

Like many old buildings, the outside of the window wasn’t a smooth, slippery wall but rather a decorative sill extending to both sides.

With no escape route, hiding outside like this could be an emergency measure.

As for why being so sure it was an accidental fall rather than being pushed?

Fu Qian glanced to the side.

As footsteps sounded, faced with Mr. Wolf’s precise, surgical-like positioning, the high-nosed classmate still pondering the previous question finally hesitantly came over.

This is, of course, a possibility, but considering the size and height of the window, crawling out is already no easy feat for someone exerting effort, let alone forcibly shoving an able-bodied teenager out?

For a normal person, such an operation would be quite challenging.

Besides, speaking from this angle, it oddly aligns with the taboo mentioned by Eva - that those who leave this building in unconventional ways would die.

”I’m looking for... Joshua.”

With a sigh in his heart, the high-nosed classmate finally couldn’t bear the pressure of silence, dazedly looking downstairs, he was the first to explain why he was here.

”That’s not Joshua.”

The answer didn’t surprise Fu Qian too much, and nearly the instant the other finished speaking, he shook his head.

”Huh? How do you know?”

It’s apparent, that in that moment, Gao Bi was quite shocked, unable to comprehend why Fu Qian was so confident.

After all, from this height, it’s practically impossible to see any details.

Why wouldn’t I know? Joshua’s still sitting in the storeroom.

Fu Qian merely muttered in his heart.

He could almost confirm that the person who placed Joshua in the storeroom wasn’t this one.

And besides the reason above, Fu Qian had another reason to be so certain—

Though the scream from earlier was somewhat distorted, he could faintly recognize a familiar tone, it actually sounded a bit like Wen from their previous haunted house adventure.

However, Fu Qian didn’t voice this deduction, instead looking past the other’s shoulder, observing behind him.

Under the newly lit light, another figure hesitantly walked over.
