Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1810: Chapter 1785: Vulgar Terror (18)

That’s more like it.

The footsteps were not only equally rapid, but also sounded like they were heading upwards.

Fu Qian was quite satisfied with this abrupt change.

Given the unclear situation, in the brief moment of less than half a minute of startling the snake from the grass, he tried to incorporate multicultural elements—

Ordinary people’s footsteps, fleeing, fear, non-human figures, chase, exploding clothes, erratic movement...

The emphasis was on a full-scale bombing.

It seems the effect was ideal, as some fish were really blown out.

And they even seemed to be of ordinary constitution, their footsteps echoing louder than his own, quite a bit panicked.

The chosen direction also seemed as though they were frightened by him.

But there’s no rush yet.

Fu Qian sat still, continuing to wait quietly.

As expected of a lively place, in just a moment, new footsteps came again.

Although they were also from below to above, they were relatively less hurried and loud, and their location was clearly lower than where he was now.

So, in this game of darkness, there are already two humans involved?

For a moment, Fu Qian couldn’t help but feel a weakening of transcendence and an increase in madness.

And after the second set of footsteps passed this floor, he finally stood up, opened the door, and plunged into the darkness.

Even though classmate Eva was downstairs, it was almost impossible for it to be her.

Even if curiosity was hard to resist, she wouldn’t flee or stay in the storage room, much less put on shoes to come up and see what it was all about.

However, the sound of chasing and fleeing footsteps sounded like they ran all the way up to the top floor where she just came down from.

Silently listening, Fu Qian put on his shoes again, adjusted his appearance in the darkness, and the next moment set off on a nonchalant journey, arriving at the staircase again.

He had already exerted a thrust on this game of darkness, with the theme being ”Chaos and Fear in the Darkness,” and the response was very good.

Now comes the second act, ”Mr. Wolf’s Visit.”

A high school student from another school, renowned for being ”calm and wise,” walked calmly into this place that seemed to contain many secrets.

What should the people or ghosts in the darkness do?

...

The danger index is skyrocketing.

Without deliberately controlling his force, though it wasn’t ear-piercing, each step still echoed.

Every step up to the First Phase seemed to draw more spotlight to this direction.

In light of this, Fu Qian adopted a catwalk-like composure, maintaining a steady pace with no intention to stop.

The building’s ceiling height was rather unusual, but shortly afterward, the fourth floor was just around the corner.

”It seems someone heard the noise and went all the way up to check.”

By now this information had been somewhat conveyed, but it was still uncertain what kind of reactions had been triggered.

Because during the walk just now, the sounds of the original chase vanished rapidly, right at this floor’s location.

Even so, Fu Qian still didn’t intend to accelerate the pursuit.

The thought process must remain clear. The significance of this action was to introduce a regular person with unclear motives into this weird situation ahead.

Adapting tactics on the fly amidst unclear circumstances would only disrupt his thought process.

As for what to do now?

Taking the final step, Fu Qian recalled the fearful scene Eva mentioned earlier—blood seeping out from a bathroom stall?

Without slowing his pace, he soon stood in a corridor and used the moonlight to confirm the structure of this floor and the location of the elevator he had taken earlier.

...

Here it is.

Relatively speaking, the top floor’s layout was noticeably simpler.

With familiarity and deductions of the structure, Fu Qian found his way to a certain door without much backtracking.

Although there was no signage, looking through the window revealed a spacious layout and a massive mirror, explaining everything.

And it wasn’t far from the elevator either.

It’s easy to imagine Eva practicing inside.

Generally, such places would have a nearby restroom or even dressing room.

Without the slightest hesitation in his steps, Fu Qian smoothly pushed open a door after passing another room.

Hmm... that’s right.

Even though visibility in this enclosed corner was really poor, the achievement of sneaking into the women’s restroom at night was still accomplished.

Considering the distance issue, this was highly likely the place Eva had mentioned. Next was to find that legendary cubicle—it’s already found.

Without turning on the light, the bloodstains weren’t very obvious, but combined with footprints made it much easier.

At a glance, on the slightly damp floor, a semi-visible shoeprint of blood could be seen, light at first and then deep, leading all the way to one of the open cubicles.

Of course, it led backward, meaning the footprints were actually walking out.

Judging by the size, which didn’t seem like a female’s, it wasn’t the person who had bled who stood up and walked out—it really wasn’t.

Lost in thought, Fu Qian had already reached the location, seeing a figure leaning there, motionless.

They were even dressed in a form-fitting outfit suitable for movement, looking curiously curvy at first glance.

However, the outfit was stained with large patches of blood at the moment, flowing from the chest down to the feet.

That was not the only wound; the face covered by long hair was crisscrossed with scars, the features almost entirely slashed.

...

The weapon was very sharp.

Given the dim light and an unwillingness to turn on a bulb, Fu Qian almost placed his mundane eyes right up against them to confirm more details.

It was not just any piece of glass fragment; the cuts were deep and smooth, obviously from a real blade, with the chest wound seemingly made by the same weapon.

But besides that, most importantly, although the face with abundant blood vessels went through such destruction, surprisingly little blood had flowed out, looking as if it had been carved into after she had died for a while.

This made the situation truly strange.

Specially waiting for a while before cutting the face after killing?

To have cut it like this, it seems filled with infinite resentment, yet they could still have such patience?

Also, it’s hard to imagine who could have such deep-seated conflict with such an affable female classmate.

Indeed, despite being mangled beyond recognition, combining the hair and nail polish, Fu Qian was reasonably sure about the potential identity of the victim—Salma.

The beverages administrator at the party, who had made him a good cup of coffee.

Little did he think that in the blink of an eye, she would meet such a tragic end.

Even the identity and motive of the murderer seemed enshrouded in confusion.

Ah—

Just as Fu Qian withdrew from the cubicle and looked out at the moon, a piercing scream erupted in the silence, followed by the sound of a heavy object hitting the ground.
