Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1805: Chapter 1780: Vulgophobia (13)

What’s going on again, is it that humans and ghosts have different paths?

But it’s clear to feel that gravity is indeed affecting oneself.

And although slender in figure, the load also increased when this classmate named Eva entered the elevator.

Originally thinking to confirm the chronological order of the script based on the other party’s reaction, this abnormal development made Fu Qian find it unexpectedly interesting.

She wasn’t wearing makeup, and there were faint traces of water at her temples, as if she had just washed her face.

Combining this with the vaguely outlined shape of shoes coming from the red and white backpack on her right shoulder, it’s not hard to imagine she had just finished a dance or gymnastics practice, and was now ready to go home after changing clothes.

Although it was bright outside, the sun was setting, and it was normal to go back and rest after practicing hard.

But it was too quiet.

At a glance, everything in sight seemed aged, while it wasn’t hard to observe the layout inside and outside the building, it was completely school-like.

So is this the high school where the main party force is located? Did Eva just come out of the school’s dance studio?

It makes sense, but where are the others—it’s the weekend.

She came to put in extra work, so her classmates weren’t around.

Quickly deducing from the observed information, a fitting possibility emerged.

But for Fu Qian, there remained a question that lay bare for him—what was he doing here?

Previously, whether it was a party or a night visit to an old house, there was at least a clear motive at the start.

Now, being tossed into this place, the only living person encountered didn’t even make eye contact, making it genuinely difficult to determine the theme.

Could it be to find Fierce Man’s whereabouts? After all, his girlfriend Salma is also a student at this school.

A series of thoughts flashed through Fu Qian’s mind, while Eva, who had stood beside him, had already pressed the elevator button, gazing blankly at the corridor outside, as if she deemed him as nonexistent.

Of course, as a master of Caring Valley, Fu Qian would not have an excess of self-awareness to feel offended by this.

Not only that, while pondering the reason, he even, by the same token, regarded himself as nonexistent.

For instance, until the elevator doors closed, he neither uttered a sound nor moved to walk out.

...

Indeed, it seemed like no one was around, the elevator went straight down to the first floor without obstruction.

Due to the structure, this floor already appeared somewhat dim in the sunset.

And throughout Eva’s exit from the elevator, it remained empty without a single shadow.

Witnessing such a scene, Fu Qian still did not move until the elevator doors automatically closed, then he reached out to press the fourth floor button again.

This was the position where it had stopped earlier.

Since his appearance aimed for this floor, it might as well be assumed meaningful.

Returning again, this time Fu Qian finally stepped out of the elevator, surveying his surroundings.

Dusk was indeed fleeting, even during this brief up and down, it seemed like the light had already dimmed a bit.

At a glance, no light was visible from all the doors lining the corridor.

Should he just search room by room?

Silently pondering, Fu Qian still did not rush to start but rather turned to look behind.

Unexpectedly, movements were coming again, and in this seemingly unoccupied building, the elevator was going down again—even rising once more.

Estimating the time silently, moments later, the elevator in front of him slowly reopened once again.

Hmm... could it be that something was forgotten?

Unsurprised to see Eva inside, Fu Qian stood still.

At that moment, the scene was conspicuously like a reversed first act.

But this time, Eva finally had a different reaction.

She turned her gaze to Fu Qian, still without a word, directly reached out her hand, and pulled Fu Qian into the elevator in one go.

...

Not until the elevator doors closed again did Eva seem to breathe a little easier.

[Don’t make a sound, there’s something in here]

Making a silencing gesture immediately, she unexpectedly took a pen out of her bag and continued to pull Fu Qian’s hand, writing a line on it.

Oh?

Responding with silence as instructed, Fu Qian also expressed curiosity with his expression.

[While washing my face, blood seeped out from one of the washroom stalls]

[I also heard peculiar footsteps]

Writing down this line, it seemed fear finally couldn’t be contained, and Eva’s hands were noticeably shaking.

Something like this? So, did the script transition into a campus ghost story again?

Although the writing was crooked, that instant didn’t hinder Fu Qian from integrating his previous experiences.

So she was just pretending to be calm earlier?

Caring less about his presence because she was frightened by a sudden paranormal occurrence and then saw someone who shouldn’t be there in the elevator?

Encountering such situations when eager to run away, pretending not to see was indeed quite human.

And upon seeing no pursuit downstairs but rather a return upstairs, this incomprehensible situation finally couldn’t resist the pangs of conscience, prompting her to take the risk to come back and remind him?

From this perspective, it seemed like he even owed her a favor.

Moreover, this reaction somewhat indicated Eva knew something about him, having met before.

[Why did you come here?]

Fu Qian nodded to indicate understanding while the elevator had stopped again.

And looking at the familiar first-floor corridor outside, Eva once again dragged Fu Qian out and appeared determined to communicate with text.

...

So it really is after the party?

Truly knowing him, it could basically confirm the script’s timing should be post-party.

But there was still that same question, the one Eva asked, indeed the same he asked himself earlier—what was he doing here anyway?

Fortunately, it seemed this difficult question didn’t need an immediate answer.

After writing the previous sentence, Eva seemingly realized it wasn’t the time for chatting, quickly waved her hand, gesturing for Fu Qian to follow in a certain direction.

The meaning was clear, whatever it was, first leave then talk.

Alright.

Seeing Eva clutching the pen tightly, Fu Qian nodded in agreement, unable to even reach for a tool to express himself, taking off his shoes and carrying them in his hand.

Eva seemed quite relieved by Fu Qian’s response. After giving him a deep look, she decisively did the same and walked ahead with shoes in hand.

”How could it be...”

However, moments later, she came to a sudden stop, her face filled with disbelief.

After turning a corner, a heavy, rather rusty iron door blocked their way completely.

Such a scene clearly caught Eva off guard, even forgetting to maintain silence.

However, mumbling to herself, she quickly reacted, covering her mouth and promptly pulling Fu Qian’s hand once more.

[This door has never been locked before]
