Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 618, Sparing Your Lives

Apart from this, there was nothing particularly noteworthy amongst Wang Tianlang’s belongings that warranted Lu Fan’s attention.

If Lu Fan’s guess was correct, this Frost Dragon Ruin Explorer’s Journal should have come from the Red Treasure Chest. Besides this item, the Red Treasure Chest should have contained other Rewards as well. However, those Rewards held no particular appeal for Lu Fan.

After all, while Red Treasure Chests were already the best Treasure Chest within this God’s Tomb Secret Realm, the Frost Dragon Ruin Explorer’s Journal was a Legendary Grade item!

Although this was a rather useless Legendary Grade item, its Grade was undeniable. Even a Red Treasure Chest could not possibly produce many better Rewards.

It was similar to Lu Fan’s Divine Grade Treasure Maps. Once a Dragon Egg appeared, the other Rewards would be inconsequential items such as Dragon Blood Potions.

If a Treasure Chest’s Rewards totalled one hundred points, then the useful items would occupy ninety points, leaving only ten points remaining. What good items could possibly emerge from those remaining ten points?

Therefore, after Lu Fan examined Wang Tianlang’s belongings and confirmed there was nothing worthwhile, he paid them no further attention. He carefully stored away the Frost Dragon Ruin Explorer’s Journal and casually tossed the remaining items into his Inventory.

Having completed this task, the sounds of groaning from nearby caught Lu Fan’s attention.

Lu Fan slapped his forehead, thinking to himself, [I nearly forgot there are still those two I have to deal with.]

Without moving his body, behind him extended two chain hooks towards the bone piles, instantly cutting through the bones and dragging out two figures—Li Qingfeng and Yuan Jingang.

Both men had already been injured by Lu Fan. When Lu Fan had thrown the bolt earlier, while the tremendous force had not struck them, the residual power had blown them away and buried them beneath countless falling bones, leaving them in a thoroughly wretched state.

Yuan Jingang, with his High Defence was in a relatively better condition. However, Li Qingfeng, being a fragile Player who mostly fought in the backline, now had bones fractured throughout his body and had fallen unconscious.

Had Lu Fan not possessed Black Dragon Perception to locate them, who were concealed in the shadows under piles of white bones, Li Qingfeng would likely have gradually lost his life while buried.

Yuan Jingang groaned. He still retained consciousness. After being dragged out by Lu Fan’s chain hooks, he was covered in blood and stared at Lu Fan with fear, unable to utter a single word.

He knew full well that if Lu Fan merely thought it, killing him would be simple.

As for begging for mercy, Yuan Jingang understood clearly in his heart, what words could he possibly speak that would convince Lu Fan to spare his life?

Hand over his key fragment?

Don’t be ridiculous. If Lu Fan killed him, wouldn’t Lu Fan be able to take whatever he wanted anyway?

Yuan Jingang served no purpose for Lu Fan. Moreover, with Wang Tianlang’s betrayal having just occurred, Lu Fan would surely act to kill them now.

However, to Yuan Jingang’s surprise, after Lu Fan had dug him and Li Qingfeng out from the mountain of bones, he did not deliver the killing blow. Instead, he asked with apparent interest, “You’re both quite badly injured. You should have Health Potions with you, right?”

Yuan Jingang was startled upon hearing this and instinctively nodded, saying, “When we came, we indeed brought quite a few Potions. Among them, we have some Health Potions. Could it be that you need them?”

After asking this question, Yuan Jingang cursed himself inwardly for being so foolish.

With Lu Fan’s strength, why would he even need Health Potions?

Sure enough, Lu Fan laughed upon hearing this and said. “Do you think there’s anyone in the God’s Tomb Secret Realm who can injure me? Since you have Health Potions, quickly consume them. Also, give one to Li Qingfeng as well. If the Potion is valuable, you can ask him for one in return later. I believe that with the depth of the Li Family, they wouldn’t lack a single Health Potion, right?”

Upon hearing that Lu Fan was actually telling him to Heal, Yuan Jingang’s expression gradually became one of disbelief. After a long silence, he did not take out a Potion. Instead, he asked, “Why aren’t you killing us? We should be of no use to you. Aren’t you afraid that by keeping us alive, we might be like Wang Tianlang and…”

He did not finish his sentence. He suddenly realised that his words were complete nonsense.

Like Wang Tianlang, ambush Lu Fan? Don’t be ridiculous! He had witnessed Wang Tianlang’s fate with his own eyes!

To attempt an ambush on Lu Fan, he and Li Qingfeng would need to possess that level of capability in the first place!

To Lu Fan, the two of them were like ants. Whether Lu Fan killed them or not would have absolutely no impact on Lu Fan whatsoever. It depended entirely on his mood.

Seeing that Yuan Jingang had fallen silent, Lu Fan knew that he understood their current situation perfectly well.

Lu Fan smiled and said. “Do you think I fear the two of you betraying me like Wang Tianlang? Don’t be ridiculous. Killing you both would merely require a single thought from me. The reason I’m keeping you alive is entirely because I want you to serve as my tour guides, and properly explain the rules of the God’s Tomb Secret Realm to me.”

“You two are not eternal allies. You will most likely not coordinate to conspire together to deceive me. If I detect any deception or discover you’re concealing something from me, it won’t be too late for me to kill you then.” Naturally, Lu Fan had not voiced his other consideration.

The primary reason for not killing them was that there was no way to turn them into Fallen Corpse Puppets after death!

Were this the outside world, Lu Fan would have killed them long ago.

But within the God’s Tomb Secret Realm, Lu Fan might as well preserve their lives till they get outside. Only then could he ensure maximum benefit!

Had Li Qingfeng and Yuan Jingang known that they were like piglets to him, with Lu Fan mentally calculating how to kill them for the greatest profit, the pair would likely have burst into tears.

However, Yuan Jingang lacked such extensive thoughts, let alone knowledge of Lu Fan’s ability to create Fallen Corpse Puppets. He believed that Lu Fan was sparing his life simply because he was still a little useful.

Who would not want to live a few more years?

Therefore, having confirmed that Lu Fan currently had no intention of killing him, Yuan Jingang wasted no further words. He hastily took out his Health Potions, consuming one himself while giving another to Li Qingfeng.

To be called a Health Potion, such Potions would need to be at least Epic Grade with extremely powerful Effects to work on them.

Yuan Jingang’s injuries Healed at a visibly rapid pace, and within merely three minutes, he was once again full of vigour.

Li Qingfeng’s injuries were more severe, but his Health Pool was naturally much lower than Yuan Jingang’s. So, one Health Potion was enough to Heal him.

Therefore, moments later, he too gradually awakened, his injuries healed by roughly seventy to eighty percent.
