Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 770: Chapter 769: I’ll Go with You

Owen Lewis furrowed his brow. So they’ve actually made a move?

”Hmm, I know. I’ll take care of it now.”

Without saying anything more, after hanging up, Owen Lewis immediately summoned a subordinate and explained the situation.

Truth be told, for someone as distinguished as Owen Lewis to handle such matters, it was quite demeaning.

But he had no choice. This was happening to Maxwell Peary’s woman, so he could only...

When Nia Mitchell returned to the ward, everyone looked at her with keen curiosity.

Of course, there was also a look of worry on her father’s and Aldy Mitchell’s faces.

”It’s nothing.”

She wouldn’t discuss these matters. Otherwise, her father would surely think that being associated with Maxwell Peary was very dangerous and would constantly worry about her.

”Well, you guys stay here. I have to go.”

Her father suddenly stood up. What he said made Nia Mitchell pause in surprise.

”What’s wrong?”

It turned out that while Nia Mitchell was out making her call, her father had also received one. It was from his boss, who knew about his son’s situation and offered to advance his wages. Furthermore, his colleagues had pooled some money together and wanted him to come by to collect it.

Nia Mitchell frowned. What strange timing. Why a call right after Belinda Swan’s?

”Dad, couldn’t you just have your boss transfer the money to your card? Why do you have to go in person?”

Nia Mitchell had a good idea. This way, Dad wouldn’t need to leave.

She didn’t believe Belinda Swan would dare to do anything insidious in the hospital.

”What are you talking about? We’ve always been paid in cash. Cash is more convenient too. The boss is being kind; how can I make all sorts of demands?”

After saying this, he smiled at Nia Mitchell.

Nia Mitchell stood there, momentarily stunned, then nodded.

Indeed, it was unrealistic to try and keep her father from going out.

”I’ll go with you.”

Nia Mitchell suddenly had an idea. If I go with Dad, I won’t have to worry here.Besides, the two of us can look out for each other.

”Okay.”

Her father knew he couldn’t win an argument against his daughter. If she wanted to go, then so be it. After all, the taxi fare was the same for two people.

And so, Nia Mitchell and her father left the hospital. Once outside, Nia Mitchell hailed a cab directly and gave the driver the address.

”Dad, why do you work in such a remote place?”

After getting out of the car, Nia Mitchell and her father navigated several twists and turns as they continued forward.

”This place is indeed a bit remote, but the boss is very nice.”

Nia Mitchell nodded, agreeing with her father. If the boss wasn’t nice, he wouldn’t have offered to pay his wages in advance.

Her father’s boss was also a very decent and honest man. After paying the wages, he even gave an extra five hundred USD.

Perhaps this was the nature of life in a small town, a mix of warmth and indifference.

Clutching the thick wad of cash, her father tucked it securely into an inner pocket of his coat, and then they started walking back.

”We should take a cab.”

Nia Mitchell frowned, looking around. Never mind cars, there were very few people about.

”We can’t get a taxi from here. We have to walk a bit further.”

Of course, her father was very familiar with this area.

”Are you tired?”

Her father asked, his smile apologetic.

”No.”

Nia Mitchell immediately shook her head. She was just worried...

As they walked on, Nia Mitchell’s brow remained furrowed.

Maybe Owen Lewis has already dealt with Belinda Swan.

Or maybe, Belinda Swan is planning to wait until they all go to Capital Town...
