Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 765: Chapter 764: The CEO’s Guidance, Divine Thinking

Maxwell Peary looked at Nia Mitchell so seriously that she faltered, unsure of what to say.

She thought for a long time and decided to speak directly. You couldn’t beat around the bush with the CEO.

”It’s just, you mentioned that my brother should go to Capital Town, right? I’m afraid people from the old residence might come looking for trouble.”

Nia thought this was a distinct possibility. But since nothing had happened yet, it felt wrong to bring it up now. She worried it might tarnish her image in Maxwell’s eyes. But she had no choice; she couldn’t take risks. Her family was already very worried about her. And hadn’t the old master from the old residence already kidnapped her in broad daylight before? She felt they were capable of anything.

”Mm, don’t worry about it. I’ll handle it,” Maxwell said.

Maxwell suddenly looked up at Nia. There was an unusual emotion in his eyes, a departure from his usual imperturbability. When Nia met his gaze, her heart tightened. She couldn’t quite understand what that emotion was.

She had never been good at reading the CEO’s emotions or understanding his gaze.

Maxwell felt a pleased sort of pride, like a father watching his ’little girl’ finally grow up. This Rabina Mitchell was also growing; it was truly rare for her to consider such things at this stage. The Nia of the past would never have had such thoughts.

”Mmm.”

Nia nodded and continued to eat, but she could still feel his gaze on her.

She felt as if she was sitting on pins and needles, extremely uncomfortable.

”Maxwell, did I say something wrong?”

Finally, Nia plucked up her courage and looked up at him.

Maxwell shook his head.

”No, you’re absolutely right. From now on, you should always prioritize your own interests.”

Uh... Nia couldn’t believe her ears. Had she heard him wrong? The CEO was actually teaching her to put her own interests first! Heh. Shouldn’t he be teaching selflessness and magnanimity? The CEO’s way of thinking seemed quite unorthodox. If they ever had children, she decided, they definitely couldn’t let the CEO be their primary educator. Who knew what kind of children he would raise? They’d surely end up completely ungovernable. That was terrifying.

Maxwell Peary didn’t expect Nia to think so far ahead. Watching her rapidly changing expressions, the smile in his eyes deepened.

Seeing Rabina Mitchell like this made him feel very content.

”Eat a bit more,” he said, placing a piece of meat in her bowl.

”Mm.”

Nia nodded.

「...」

After they had finished lunch, Maxwell pulled her onto the couch and leaned over to kiss her.

”MPH!”

Nia’s eyes widened, unsure what Maxwell was doing.

”What are you doing?”

Her face flushed, Nia felt that the CEO was acting a bit strangely today.

”I’m going back to Capital Town later.”

He suddenly spoke up. Actually, he wasn’t just returning to Capital Town; he might even have to go abroad.

”What happened?”

Nia’s intuition screamed at her. Did something happen to the MC Group?

”It’s nothing, just some work matters. Don’t worry.”

Maxwell didn’t say much else, and Nia could only nod her head, not asking any further questions.

”If anything troubles you, don’t keep it bottled up. No one can harm you. You need to be assertive. And if there’s anything you can’t handle, call Lewis directly. If you can’t reach Lewis, call Alan Morgan.”
