Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Red Fragments

”What should I do?”

Lin Ye looked at the flesh-and-blood creatures with bizarre shapes in the hallway and asked.

One of the big-headed fish with seven or eight legs noticed Lin Ye. It let out an excited screech and quickly scurried toward the ward with small, rapid steps.

”Of course, fight your way out! These monsters aren’t strong. Your size is six times bigger than it, so your combat power is also six times greater. Go for it!”

Little Ye hid behind Lin Ye, encouraging him to fight the monster in front of them.

”But I don’t know how to fight! As a spiritual partner, don’t you have any combat assistance functions? In comics, spiritual partners all have substitute fighting abilities. I can lend you my body!”

Lin Ye watched the multi-legged fish monster charging toward him, feeling somewhat panicked.

”Unfortunately, I don’t know how to fight either... probably not. I don’t remember.”

Little Ye hid behind Lin Ye, experiencing a sensation similar to playing a battle game. While Lin Ye was hesitating, the multi-legged fish monster suddenly stopped two meters away from him, then opened its fish mouth filled with sharp teeth.

Seeing the opened fish mouth, Lin Ye instinctively stepped to his left. Only then did the fish monster spray a puddle of red liquid.

The red liquid landed beside Lin Ye’s feet, emitting a sizzling sound as it corroded the ground.

Lin Ye quickly stepped forward and kicked the exhausted, tongue-hanging multi-legged fish monster flying.

The multi-legged fish monster hit the wall, then fell to the ground and rolled several times before flopping around briefly and finally becoming completely still.

Lin Ye cautiously watched the fish monster’s extended short legs. He was just about to take off his shoe and throw it to test the situation when the fish monster on the ground shattered and disappeared.

Where the fish monster had vanished, an irregular bright red crystal the size of a fist remained.

”Why did the corpse disappear? What is that?”

Lin Ye looked at Little Ye.

”That’s a red fragment. Three fragments can synthesize one basic skill, ten fragments can synthesize one advanced skill, and one hundred fragments can synthesize one ultimate skill.”

Little Ye looked curiously at the red fragment. She hadn’t expected something like this to appear.

”Skills? This feels a bit like a video game?”

Lin Ye picked up the red fragment through his sleeve. The fragment disappeared in his sleeve, and then a line of text appeared before his eyes.

[Acquired Red Fragment*1]

”I don’t know either. Just now, when I saw that fragment, information about skills suddenly appeared in my mind.”

Little Ye didn’t tell Lin Ye that what appeared in her mind wasn’t just information about skills, but also an option.

She could choose whether to tell Lin Ye that information. If she didn’t say anything, the fragments couldn’t become skills.

It was as if this ability to turn fragments into skills belonged to her.

”Never mind, let’s not worry about that for now. I’ll first gather three fragments to try it out.”

Lin Ye quickly charged toward a distant fish monster and kicked it flying before it could spray water.

The fish monster emitted an unpleasant cry. This kick didn’t kill it. Lying on its back on the ground, it waved its short legs, trying to get up and attack Lin Ye.

Lin Ye hurriedly stepped forward to deliver another kick. The fish monster was kicked flying again, but it still didn’t die. Its cries alerted a nearby fish monster, which quickly ran near Lin Ye and sprayed red liquid at him.

By the time the red liquid hit the wall, Lin Ye had already stepped forward and delivered a third kick.

After being kicked flying, the fish monster still didn’t die. Lin Ye changed targets and delivered a fourth kick to the belly of the fish monster that had just finished spraying liquid.

This time, one kick killed it.

’So I have to let them spray the red liquid first, otherwise it’s hard to kill them.’

Lin Ye didn’t continue kicking the fish monsters flying. He didn’t want to attract large numbers of fish monsters to spray liquid at him, as that might get him killed.

The fish monster got up and ran in front of Lin Ye, spraying red liquid at him.

Lin Ye skillfully dodged the liquid, then kicked the fish monster to death.

[Acquired Red Fragment*2]

Lin Ye tried to control the fragment synthesis for skills in his mind. Soon he saw a line of text.

[Acquired Basic Skill: Blood Spit]

[Blood Spit]

[Can spray corrosive blood from the mouth]

[Note: When using this skill, please aim your mouth at the enemy and open it]

After obtaining the skill, Lin Ye felt something new inside his body and naturally learned how to use the Blood Spit skill.

’...What kind of garbage skill is this?’

Lin Ye had absolutely no desire to spray corrosive blood from his mouth. After all, his mouth didn’t have anti-corrosion functions. Using this skill carelessly could easily get himself killed.

”Pretty good. This way you can trade sprays with them.”

Little Ye could see the skills Lin Ye acquired. She could even help Lin Ye synthesize skills.

”I’d rather just kick them a few more times. You can see my skills?”

There was no way Lin Ye would use such an idiotic skill.

”Mhm, let’s continue. It would be best to leave this area before daybreak.”

The red stagnant water gave Little Ye a very uncomfortable feeling, as if many eyes were observing them from beneath the water’s surface.

”Okay, I don’t like this place either. Can I open these ward doors?”

As a gaming enthusiast, Lin Ye always felt like there were treasure chests and additional information inside when he passed by doors.

”Our goal is to escape this place. Time is limited. You decide for yourself whether to explore the wards or not.”

Little Ye looked at the metal doors on both sides of the hallway. She didn’t know what was inside either.

Lin Ye didn’t immediately explore the surrounding wards. Instead, he continued kicking multi-legged fish monsters flying. He planned to farm for a usable skill before exploring the wards.

Before long, Lin Ye had kicked three fish monsters to death and obtained three red fragments.

[Acquired Basic Skill: Blood Burning]

[Blood Burning]

[Burn your blood to unleash powerful energy]

[Note: Please control the amount of blood burned and consume the excess energy before the energy inside your body kills you]

’Hey, this skill...’

Lin Ye immediately ran near a fish monster and used Blood Spit on it, then used Blood Burning as the blood approached the fish monster.

That puddle of blood exploded in front of the fish monster. The splashing droplets shot through the fish monster’s body like a rainstorm, and that small area was completely corroded by the blood.

’Damn, that’s powerful!’

Lin Ye was very satisfied with these two excellent skills.

’Too bad I can’t spray continuously. The organs in my body can only produce one dose of corrosive liquid every half minute, and the organs can store at most one and a half doses of liquid.’

Lin Ye could only continue kicking nearby fish monsters to death. The fish monsters would respawn from the stagnant water, and he didn’t want to approach that red stagnant water.

After killing ten fish monsters, Lin Ye synthesized an advanced skill.

[Acquired Advanced Skill: Blood Manipulation]

[Blood Manipulation]

[You can perform simple manipulation of nearby blood]

[Note: The difficulty of manipulation is related to the quality and state of the blood]

’This is an advanced skill? I feel like I got cheated trading for those two basic skills?’

Lin Ye somewhat regretted exchanging for those two garbage skills.
