Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

”Alright, if you want my help, you’d better tell me what your purpose is for going in.”

Lin Ye’s goal was to resolve the abnormal incident. He needed to first confirm whether his teammate’s objective conflicted with his own.

”I’m going in to find Dr. Caroline. I heard her mention you before, do you remember her?”

Jessica watched Lin Ye’s expression closely. She couldn’t fully trust an anomalous entity, even if it had been helping them deal with abnormal incidents.

”Isn’t she a doctor? Why isn’t she staying safely in the research lab?”

Lin Ye hadn’t expected to encounter the same person across two different abnormal incidents.

”Initially, the organization didn’t recognize the danger of Night Inscription Village. Caroline came to Night Inscription Village because there’s some connection between the village and a classified research project.”

Jessica didn’t know what that classified project was, but she knew it must be extremely dangerous because it had deceived the organization, leading to Caroline’s disappearance and the organization sealing all records about Night Inscription Village.

”Your goal is to find Caroline and bring her out? How do you know Caroline is still alive?”

Lin Ye asked.”I don’t know, that’s why I have to go in and see for myself. For this operation, we have no backup, and no one will come to retrieve our bodies.”

The current situation was actually much better than Jessica had anticipated. At least she didn’t have to knock Dylan unconscious and drag him inside.

”I never expected any of that. Having a reliable teammate is already pretty good for me.”

Lin Ye felt this mission should be quite simple. Jessica was a mid-level spiritual energy user and an experienced captain of the Abnormal Incident Handling Team.

If Jessica allowed him to use spiritual energy firearms, he could handle low-level spiritual energy users, while Jessica could deal with the mid-level ones. An hour would be enough for them to tear through that Night Inscription Village two or three times.

”You need to call me Captain, member Dylan.”

Jessica said seriously.

”Understood, Captain.”

Lin Ye certainly wouldn’t refuse. It wasn’t like he could beat her anyway.

”If the map is correct, Night Inscription Village should be just ahead.”

Jessica glanced at the map and said.

”Captain, what’s our combat plan?”

Although Lin Ye wanted to go in and kill everything from one end of the village to the other, Night Inscription Village was a place even the organization had given up on. Jessica definitely wouldn’t just charge in and start killing, especially since Jessica couldn’t restart like he could, unable to try repeatedly.

”Later, we’ll charge straight in and kill everything that moves inside. Humans, animals, plants - as long as it moves, we eliminate it all, leaving nothing alive. Can you fight with this body? I can provide you with some weapons.”

Jessica said straightforwardly.

”...I can, but isn’t that a bit extreme?”

Lin Ye hadn’t expected her plan to be so direct.

”This is an anomalous area abandoned by the organization. Exploring inside is extremely dangerous. When facing such places, we can’t use normal exploration methods. By prioritizing the elimination of all potential threats that could affect us, we might make some unexpected discoveries.”

Jessica wasn’t a reckless person. In fact, she had no confidence in this operation, which was why she decided to use this exploration method.

She didn’t want to wait until she was deeply trapped and powerless to fight back before picking up weapons. When facing situations with no certainty of success, the weak can only go all or nothing to seize a slim chance of survival.

”Then let’s kill them all and bring our Dr. Caroline home.”

Lin Ye absorbed the spiritual energy from the environment. In the plane where the organization was located, cities had almost no detectable spiritual energy, but in these remote areas, the spiritual energy concentration was quite good.

However, before Lin Ye could absorb much spiritual energy, the spiritual energy in the air suddenly disappeared.

Not just spiritual energy - Lin Ye’s mental energy was also restricted somehow, completely unable to leave his body. Now he couldn’t even sense his surroundings.

”What’s happening?”

The spiritual energy Lin Ye had just absorbed began leaking from his body, and soon he reverted to being an ordinary person.

”...It’s some kind of rule that prohibits anomalies.”

Jessica’s expression turned grim. In this area where spiritual energy and mental energy couldn’t be used, many of the spiritual energy weapons she brought would be unusable, and her combat power would drop to an extremely low level.

”So the villagers are all ordinary people?”

Lin Ye didn’t think this was necessarily a bad thing.

”Hard to say. There might be areas in the village that are exceptions to the rules. If things from those areas come out, they could maintain their spiritual energy state for a while, and we could be quickly killed.”

This was actually one of the defensive measures used in some of the organization’s bases, so Jessica was very familiar with this approach.

”We can sneak in and quietly eliminate everyone inside. As long as we don’t enter those special areas, we should be fine. Afterwards, we can lure whatever’s inside out to deal with it. Caroline might be imprisoned in such a place.”

Lin Ye didn’t know if Caroline was still alive, but they had to consider the hostage situation when making their plan.

”Alright, we’ll sneak in.”

Jessica parked the car by the roadside. They were already very close to Night Inscription Village.

Lin Ye got out of the car, and Jessica opened the trunk, which was essentially a small armory.

Among the weapons were the familiar spiritual energy compression piercing weapons and various spiritual energy firearms that Lin Ye recognized.

”All the spiritual energy-related weapons are useless now. Good thing I brought some conventional firearms too.”

Jessica began inserting various weapons into different positions on her coat. That coat was a specially made multi-functional garment from the organization that could block normal caliber bullets even in environments without spiritual energy.

Lin Ye only took one rifle, two pistols, a short knife, and several magazines. Dylan’s physique was average, and carrying too much would waste energy.

Both the rifle and pistols were equipped with special silencers, allowing them to fire freely within the village.

”Let’s go.”

Jessica led the way, and the two quickly approached a tranquil mountain village.

A faint mist floated through the village, which would be quite advantageous for their upcoming operation.

Before even entering the village, they encountered several villagers chatting outside.

These villagers looked no different from normal people, except their features were somewhat fierce, with facial proportions that seemed slightly off.

Without any hesitation, the two immediately opened fire on the villagers.

Thump thump thump thump thump thump!

Their bullets accurately hit the villagers’ heads, leaving bullet holes, but surprisingly, the villagers didn’t fall.

Four villagers charged toward them, while the other two turned to run back to the village to report.

Lin Ye and Jessica simultaneously shot the two fleeing villagers in the knees. They fell to the ground but still tried to crawl back to the village.

As they crawled, they emitted sharp, piercing screams, alerting the entire village.
