Martial Dao: Peace by Force

Chapter 79: Chapter 74: Fists Forging Valor, Stealing the Celestial Secret Again

Wang Buzhan was reeling with shock and uncertainty, but his expression remained unchanged. He maintained the cold, severe air of a seasoned master as a powerful, intimidating light flared in his eyes. He growled, ”Boy, don’t you go looking for dea—”

”So, you can try to kill me, but I’m not allowed to fight back?”

Wan Ze spoke again, his voice calm.

”What ridiculous reasoning.” He shook his head, the notion absurd. He instantly lost any interest in continuing the conversation. ”Forget it. Why am I wasting my breath on you?”

’Master was right!’

’The pursuit of martial arts was never about swallowing your pride and enduring humiliation! It’s not about making reluctant compromises after weighing the pros and cons!’

’It’s about honing your spirit!’

’It’s about the path you walk!’

’It’s the backbone to fight back, to refuse to be slaughtered at will!’

Wang Buzhan, however, was enraged by his attitude, his expression turning venomous. ”Arrogant!”

But before he could finish the word, Wan Ze moved!

With no warning, Power erupted from his feet. His qi and blood surged like a dragon as he flickered across the distance between them in an instant, a tremor running through his bones and sinews.

He launched himself into the air with a punch!

It happened in the blink of an eye. Wang Buzhan couldn’t even clearly see Wan Ze’s figure. As he stared in utter disbelief, an iron fist, radiating terrifying might, appeared with brutal finality and filled his entire vision.

The hairs on his body stood on end. A frantic voice screamed in his mind, ’Dodge! Draw your sword!’ But in the face of this absolute Power, his thoughts went completely blank.

THUD!

The sickeningly dull sound of the impact was clearly audible.

The massive fist slammed viciously into Wang Buzhan’s face.

The sharp crack of bone came first, followed by a torrent of blood from his brow ridge.

Wang Buzhan had no chance to resist. His body shot backward like a punching bag struck by a sledgehammer.

His back slammed squarely into Jie Bufan’s chest.

Amid the dull thud came the faint crack of breaking ribs.

Jie Bufan only managed a single cry of alarm before the terrifying momentum of Wang Buzhan’s body swept him up, slamming him hard into a wall ten meters away. Cracks instantly spiderwebbed across the wall’s surface from the point of impact.

Their bodies, tangled together, seemed to pause on the wall for an instant before sliding limply to the ground.

Silence!

Utter, dead silence.

Even the wind seemed to have stopped.

All that remained was the acrid stench of blood.

The men in black, still holding their choppers, were all dumbstruck. They stood frozen in place as if petrified, staring in disbelief at the two figures slumped against the distant wall.

A chill crept down their spines.

A wave of indescribable terror washed over them.

’The Cyan City Sword King, Wang Buzhan... The Jie Family’s Eldest Young Master, Jie Bufan... taken out... in a single exchange?’

CRACK—

The faint sound drew everyone’s attention.

Before the men in black could turn to look, a dark shadow was suddenly upon them.

BAM!

One punch!

BAM!

Another punch!

BAM! BAM! BAM!

A mountain of blurry fists descended upon them.

In the span of a single breath, Wan Ze came to a sudden stop. He paid no mind to the heap of trash on the ground behind him and looked at the already dumbstruck Tie Feiyang. ”Let’s go,” he said calmly. ”But... can we still drive this car?”

”Y-Yeah... we can.” Tie Feiyang swallowed hard, not yet recovered from the shock. Then, as if remembering something, he scrambled over to Jie Bufan. After reaching out to check him, his face went deathly pale.

’He’s... he’s really dead!’

But Wan Ze, as if nothing were amiss, had already settled into the passenger seat.

Tie Feiyang took a deep breath. Suppressing his terror, he made a call to Tie Qingyang with a trembling hand. ”Dad, I’m on the access road of Xifeng Road... Jie Bufan is dead. So is the Cyan City Sword King, Wang Buzhan... It’s my fault.”

There was a two-second silence on the other end of the line, then came Tie Qingyang’s calm, unreadable voice. ”Understood. Drive Mr. Wan back safely now. Don’t worry about anything else. I’ll arrange for people to clean up the scene...”

”But, Dad...”

”Get back here! Now! Immediately!”

”Yes... Dad!”

A chill went through Tie Feiyang. Not daring to say more, he hung up.

Before getting into the car, he couldn’t stop himself from looking back at the base of the wall.

Jie Bufan lay sprawled there, his neck twisted at an unnatural angle. His eyes were wide open, staring blankly at the dim sky, a look of horrified confusion frozen on his face.

’To think that this Eldest Young Master Jie was once a titan in the Holy City, an untouchable figure who could do as he pleased.’

Tie Feiyang mused with a sigh.

’People really shouldn’t be so arrogant. If the heavens don’t claim you, someone else will!’

He shook his head, pulled open the car door, and got in.

The engine roared to life.

After they left the bloody road behind, Tie Feiyang couldn’t help but speak up. ”Brother Wan, this is my fault. You wouldn’t have been dragged into this if it weren’t for me... When we get back, I’ll explain it to my dad. I’ll say I killed them. This has absolutely nothing to do with you!”

When he finished, he glanced cautiously at Wan Ze.

Seeing his nervous and frightened expression, Wan Ze suddenly let out a soft laugh. ”What’s there to panic about? He openly brandished a weapon with the intent to kill me. I was forced to fight back. It was pure self-defense. Even if the highest power in the land showed up, he’d still have deserved to die. We’re in the right here.”

”But his dad is a man of real power on the Administrative Council. He has considerable influence...” Tie Feiyang said, his brow furrowed with worry. Suddenly, he added, ”Or... since we’ve already started, why not go all the way? We could take his dad out too...”

Wan Ze couldn’t help but stare at him.

The more he spoke, the more earnest Tie Feiyang became. ”Jie Bufan’s dad is no saint, either. He was involved in a murder case years ago—rumor is he paid to make it all go away. He only managed to squeeze his way onto the Administrative Council after that by picking sides and pulling a lot of strings... But he’s nowhere near the ’group of four,’ so his foundation in the Council isn’t that deep... If we contact his sworn enemies, I’m sure there are plenty of people who would want to take him down... Brother Wan, let me sort this out.”

Wan Ze looked at him, a little surprised.
