Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1180: Chapter 1179: The Young Generation of Witch Gate

”The matters hereafter will be handled by the Left Guardian Law.”

Ling Chen turned around to look at Luo Xian’er and Shen Qianlang.

”Ling Chen, we are truly grateful to you.”

Luo Xian’er and Shen Qianlang felt touched that Ling Chen, despite his esteemed status, still cared for two humble friends like them. He helped them destroy the Great Eagle Gate, killed the Tangmen Elders, and forcibly opened up a new world for them on Nine Spirit Island.

”From now on, you’ll have to rely on yourselves.”

Ling Chen would smooth the path for Luo Xian’er and Shen Qianlang with the help of the Left Guardian Law, but the road ahead would be up to them.

With a set of Green Lotus Sword Song, if they manage to master it, their future strength will not be lacking.

After settling Luo Xian’er and Shen Qianlang, Ling Chen moved to the side with the Left Guardian Law.

The Left Guardian Law looked at Ling Chen, ”Saint Ling Chen, you’ve been away for over half a year. The Witch Goddess is quite concerned about you.”

Knowing the relationship between Xia Yunxin and Ling Chen, the Left Guardian Law now considered Ling Chen the second most important figure in the Witch Gate. With Ling Chen’s potential, he deserved the position, and his future achievements would surely be substantial.

”Sister Yunxin, did she come out from the Witch Mountain Blood Sea?”

Ling Chen’s eyelids slightly fluttered.

”Yes, just a month ago, the Witch Goddess came out of seclusion,” the Left Guardian Law nodded, ”But she left Spirit Snake Island three days ago.”

”She left Spirit Snake Island, where did she go?”

Ling Chen asked with a hint of surprise.

”The specifics were not detailed by the Goddess,” the Left Guardian Law said, ”She only mentioned going someplace to retrieve an item, beyond that, I know nothing.”

”Retrieve an item?”

Ling Chen’s eyes glinted subtly, it seemed Xia Yunxin indeed had an affair to handle, possibly retrieving some relic left by the Witch God from earlier times.

”Since Sister Yunxin isn’t on Spirit Snake Island, I won’t return.”

Ling Chen pondered momentarily and altered his original plan; he meant to visit Xia Yunxin first, but since she wasn’t there, he saw no reason to go to Spirit Snake Island.

The Left Guardian Law asked, ”Saint Ling Chen, are you heading to the Nine Currents Congress?”

”That’s right.”

Ling Chen nodded, unsurprised, as the news of the Nine Currents Congress had already spread across the Nine Provinces Land, and it was normal for the Left Guardian Law to know about it.

”This time at the Nine Currents Congress, we have over ten places from the Witch Gate. It’s perfect timing, Saint Ling Chen, why not depart together with them? You could also guide these younglings along the way,” the Left Guardian Law smiled.

”Oh? I had forgotten this detail.”

Ling Chen’s eyes brightened; the Witch Gate had been excluded from the Nine Provinces in the past, lacking eligibility to participate in such great events as the Nine Currents Congress. But things were different now: the Witch Gate subjugated to the Imperial Court, becoming the Tenth Great Family and recognized lawfully, thus naturally having spots at the Congress.

”Alright, let’s go together then.”

Without refusal, Ling Chen agreed; the Witch Gate, as the current Tenth Great Family, was a significant backing force of his, and nurturing the Witch Gate’s next generation was his responsibility too.

Besides, it wouldn’t hold him up much, at most slowing travel and slightly delaying arrival at Spirit Mountain.

”However, before attending the Nine Currents Congress at Spirit Mountain, I need to visit the Divine Capital to meet Empress Yunyao,” Ling Chen said.

The Left Guardian Law nodded indifferently, ”Anyway, the Congress starts next month. Let them have a bit of worldly experience in the Divine Capital, it’s no issue.”

”If that’s decided, then tomorrow morning, I’ll have them convene and set off.”

”That would be best.”

Ling Chen expressed no disagreement; if departure could happen tomorrow, that would be ideal.

...

Next day, morning.

Spirit Snake Island, Witch Gate stronghold.

On the drill grounds, more than a dozen young figures had already gathered, male and female, all under forty years of age. These were the elite of the youthful generation from Witch Gate, selected for the Nine Currents Congress.

The morning sun rose, and golden sunlight fell upon each person.

However, these dozen young Witch Gate talents seemed increasingly impatient.

”Left Guardian Law had us waiting here early in the morning, and it’s been nearly one hour now. Why hasn’t that person appeared yet?”

A lean gray-robed youth grumbled impatiently.

This was Chen Qingzhi, the strongest of this group of Witch Gate youth talents; his cultivation had reached the level of an intermediate semi-saint, and in the young generation across the Nine Provinces, he was considered a prodigy.

”Who knows? I’m curious to see what kind of outstanding figure boasts such prominence to keep all of us waiting for him.”

The one speaking was a green-clad woman, with a peculiar allure in her looks, and amid her expression was a hint of dissatisfaction.

She was also a distinguished member of the Witch Gate’s generation, named Qin Yiren, with cultivation reaching the level of a junior semi-saint, just slightly inferior to Chen Qingzhi.

”One who has us waiting like this must certainly be a Saint!”

A young talent from Witch Gate spoke.

Other young talents nodded, accepting if it were a Saint, given their strength and unquestionable authority to have kept everyone here waiting.

”Someone’s here!”

At that moment, someone exclaimed, and the talents from Witch Gate all turned toward the voice, seeing two figures descending; one was the Left Guardian Law.

”Greetings, Left Guardian Law!”

Chen Qingzhi, Qin Yiren, and other Witch Gate talents bowed in salute towards the Left Guardian Law.

Meanwhile, they also stealthily eyed the person beside the Left Guardian Law, a very young man in white clothes, appearing younger than any of them, with a sword at his waist, exuding an air of indifference and composure.

”Is it him?”

The young Witch Gate talents were puzzled, some finding Ling Chen vaguely familiar yet unable to recall his identity.

”Why a youngster?”

Chen Qingzhi and Qin Yiren frowned; they noticed Ling Chen was even younger than they were, with cultivation merely at the level of Sky Apex Realm, not as advanced as theirs, making them slightly discontent.

Given their status, waiting foolishly for someone was intolerable within the Witch Gate, for no young disciple held such standing; the young talents were not used to being treated with similar respect.
