Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1169: Chapter 1168: Qing Mountain Sword Sect

After delivering Empress Yunyao’s verbal decree to Ling Chen, the middle-aged man in the Purple Robe left Lingyue Island in haste without lingering.

He still needed to visit the other major sects to announce the decree and convey the Empress’s orders to complete the task she assigned.

Counting the time, Ling Chen still needed to pay respects to Empress Yunyao, and meanwhile, he planned to check on Xia Yunxin’s condition at the Witch Fiend Sect.

Therefore, Ling Chen intended to set off early and leave Lingyue Island.

After explaining the situation to Saint Purple Heart, the latter also did not obstruct much, as the Lingyue Island disciples were set to depart for the nine-stream conference, which was likely still more than a month away.

Before leaving, Ling Chen had intended to greet Shen Bingxin, but she was in a critical period of seclusion and inconvenient to see anyone, so after asking Lin Wan to pass on a message, Ling Chen left Lingyue Island alone, embarking on his journey.

Riding on the Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat, Ling Chen was about five days away from the East Sea. Before then, he decided to visit Jingzhou and see Luo Xian’er and the others.

Empress Yunyao had already agreed to help Luo Xian’er and Shen Qianlang restore their sect. By now, Qingcheng Palace should have been rebuilt, so he needed to take a look to ensure Luo Xian’er and the others were safe before leaving.

Without knowing the specific location of Qingcheng Palace, Ling Chen arrived at the Heavenly Secret Tower in Panlong City.

In the hall on the first floor of Heavenly Secret Tower, a refined and elegant woman sat at the counter, flipping through a book, looking extremely focused.

”Long time no see, Miss Yu Wei.”

Ling Chen walked straight to the counter and gave the elegant woman a slight smile.

Yu Wei lifted her head, first stunned, then reacted with a sudden shock, saying, ”You... you are Ling Chen?”

The Ling Chen now was far from the minor character she once knew; he had already become renowned throughout the Nine Provinces Continent. Among the younger generation, perhaps no one was unaware of Ling Chen.

Moreover, after becoming the champion of the Heavenly Sword tournament, Ling Chen did a series of earth-shattering things. Of course, the matter of Ling Chen defeating Marquis Guiming hadn’t spread in the secular world, or it would cause even greater upheaval.

”Yes, I’m here to inquire about some matters.”

Ling Chen nodded.

”Please go ahead.”

Yu Wei answered solemnly.

Ling Chen said, ”Help me check whether in the past year within Jingzhou any new sect has been established called Qingcheng Palace. If there is, please tell me the location of Qingcheng Palace’s gate.”

”Qingcheng Palace? Alright, please wait a moment.”

Yu Wei nodded slightly, then searched on the bookshelves behind her, bringing out a dossier, and began flipping through it in front of Ling Chen.

After roughly the time of a half cup of tea, the search yielded results.

”Among the sects established in the past year, there is none called Qingcheng Palace.”

Yu Wei shook her head and said.

”None?”

Ling Chen frowned; could it be that Empress Yunyao had not yet fulfilled her promise? It seemed unreasonable.

”Then help me check two persons.”

Ling Chen said with a mental shift, ”Luo Xian’er and Shen Qianlang, these two originated from Qingcheng Palace in Yi Zhou. After Qingcheng Palace was vanquished, they temporarily resided in the Nanluo Sect. Check the whereabouts of these two people.”

”Wait a moment.”

Yu Wei again flipped through the dossiers, and within less than a minute, her eyes lit up, saying, ”Found them, Luo Xian’er, Shen Qianlang, six months ago, with the help of Jingzhou Martial Prefecture, established a small sect called Qing Mountain Sword Sect. Luo Xian’er is the Sect Leader of Qing Mountain Sword Sect, Shen Qianlang is the Vice Sect Leader.”

”Oh? Qing Mountain Sword Sect?”

Ling Chen was slightly surprised, the promised revival of Qingcheng Palace turned into a name change, but thinking about it, he was relieved, likely done to avoid Tang Sect’s notice.

Regardless, though a bit weak, at least the sect’s legacy could continue.

”However, the condition of this Qing Mountain Sword Sect seems quite dire.” Yu Wei suddenly remarked, furrowing her delicate brows.

”What do you mean?”

Ling Chen’s eyes narrowed slightly, his voice steady.

”According to the records, there is a sect called ’Great Eagle Gate’ forcing Qing Mountain Sword Sect into a tight spot. Originally, Qing Mountain Sword Sect had over three hundred disciples, but now, under the pressure of Great Eagle Gate, only thirty-something remain, facing the danger of sect annihilation.” Yu Wei spoke softly.

”What?”

Ling Chen’s face darkened slightly, having just sighed in relief, his expression tightened once again, ”Then what about the people from Jingzhou Prefecture, did they not intervene after helping establish Qing Mountain Sword Sect?”

”Jingzhou Prefecture explicitly stated that no force would be allowed to annihilate Qing Mountain Sword Sect, but they turn a blind eye to Great Eagle Gate’s pressure on Qing Mountain Sword Sect.” Yu Wei continued flipping through the dossiers, ”A powerful force is influencing Jingzhou Prefecture’s attitude from the shadows, urging them not to intervene in this matter.”

”Is it Tang Sect from Yi Zhou?”

Ling Chen asked without a second thought.

Other than Tang Sect, he couldn’t think of any other force that would target a seemingly insignificant Qing Mountain Sword Sect.

”Yes, it is Tang Sect.”

Yu Wei nodded; it seems Ling Chen knows some of the inside story.

”This Tang Sect still won’t give up.”

A shade of darkness flashed in Ling Chen’s eyes, Tang Sect actually extended its reach to Jingzhou, openly not daring to oppose the Empress’s orders, but secretly supporting Great Eagle Gate to oppress Qing Mountain Sword Sect, its aim was still to obtain the Green Lotus Sword Song from Luo Xian’er and Shen Qianlang.

And Jingzhou Prefecture, with the intention not to offend either side, the fact was Empress Yunyao only commanded them to assist Luo Xian’er and Shen Qianlang to revive their sect and ensure their legacy was not extinguished; as long as Qing Mountain Sword Sect wasn’t wiped out, they wouldn’t be considered violating Empress Yunyao’s decree.

As for Empress Yunyao, she is a supreme figure within the Central Dynasty, dealing with thousands of affairs daily, how could she frequently spare attention for the two minor figures on this side concerning Luo Xian’er? Moreover, with Emperor Tian Gao far away, Empress Yunyao probably didn’t even know that Jingzhou Prefecture would be influenced by Tang Sect, causing them to be negligent towards her orders.

It was his oversight.

But now that he had come, the Qing Mountain Sword Sect still existed, and Luo Xian’er and Shen Qianlang were unharmed; the situation wasn’t too late.

”Thank you, Miss Yu Wei, for this matter. I have other affairs, I’ll invite you for a drink next time.”

Ling Chen left the Spirit Nurturing Pill required for inquiries, then suddenly turned around, and his figure flickered, leaving the Heavenly Secret Tower.

”What a fellow who comes and goes as he pleases. I’m afraid I won’t be able to wait for your invitation, alas!”

Looking at the empty space in front of her, Yu Wei couldn’t help but shake her head, but soon, a gleam shone in her beautiful eyes, muttering to herself, ”But from Ling Chen’s reaction, he seems to value those two quite a lot. Tsk tsk, that Great Eagle Gate is probably in for a disaster...”
