Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1168: Chapter 1167: The Holy Command Issued

The location of the Council Hall is in the core area of Lingyue Island, surrounded by mountains and protected by powerful array formations, making it the central point of the entire island.

Not far from there is the Martial Arts Plaza, where many Lingyue Island disciples are practicing swordsmanship and competing with each other.

Suddenly, two figures swiftly skimmed over the plaza, attracting many glances.

”Hey, isn’t that Senior Brother Ling Chen?”

A disciple recognized Ling Chen flying overhead on his sword and couldn’t help but exclaim in astonishment.

”What, he’s Senior Brother Ling Chen, so young!”

”It was he who killed Yuwen Lin and defeated Marquis Guiming? So amazing! When will I be able to fly on a sword like him and exact swift revenge?”

”Who would have thought that Senior Brother Ling Chen not only has outstanding strength but is also very handsome!”

Below, a group of Lingyue Island disciples chattered animatedly.

Passing through the Martial Arts Plaza, Ling Chen and Lin Wan arrived in front of the Council Hall.

The Council Hall of Lingyue Island is quite grand and imposing, with a height that is probably close to a thousand feet. On those massive pillars, there are dragon and phoenix sculptures, exuding an aura of solemnity.

At this moment, hundreds of people were already gathered inside the Council Hall. Upon entering, Ling Chen immediately sensed a profound, sacred feeling, as so many Lingyue Island disciples and elders were assembled, yet not a single sound was made.

Ling Chen’s gaze turned towards the seats on both sides, and he saw a middle-aged man in a purple robe sitting in the foremost left seat. On his robe, a majestic python was embroidered, and his white face was beardless. Seeing his appearance, Ling Chen roughly deduced the man’s identity.

This person was sent from the palace.

”Messenger, all our sect’s core disciples are present, you may announce the decree.”

Sitting on the main seat was the Island Master, the Spiritual Heart Saint. She nodded to the middle-aged man in the purple robe, who then stood up and walked to the center of the hall.

With a flip of his palm, a golden light shone in his hand, transforming into a scroll of the Holy Command, and a mighty willpower instantly emanated from it.

This is a genuine Holy Command, a powerful sacred object of the royal family, containing great holy power and representing the Emperor’s will and decision.

The middle-aged man in the purple robe cleared his throat, speaking loudly: ”Core disciples of Lingyue Island, receive the decree!”

As his voice fell, there was a ’call’, and everyone in the Council Hall knelt down uniformly. The solemnity of the Holy Command was undeniable.

Ling Chen also followed the group, crouching and kneeling halfway. In the entire hall, only those with the cultivation of Saints did not kneel.

Saints are Martial Arts Supreme, enjoying privileges and do not need to kneel before the Emperor.

”The Nine Streams Conference will be held on the first day of the twelfth lunar month at Spirit Mountain. All core disciples of Lingyue Island are qualified to attend the conference. Talented youths are urged to be present.”

The text written on the Holy Command pertains to the convening of the Nine Streams Conference, with each word radiant like gold, carrying an undeniable will.

The Nine Streams Conference is a grand event for the world, a significant decision for the Central Dynasty, necessitating a decree to set the conference date.

In fact, this Nine Streams Conference is a festivity in the Nine Province Sect Realm. However, to establish the Central Dynasty’s legitimate ruling in the realm, it is hosted by the Emperor of the Central Dynasty.

Nevertheless, these decrees, passed down through generations of various dynasties, have existed for a long time, bearing absolute authority.

Of course, the power within the Nine Province Sect Realm is substantial, far surpassing the Central Dynasty. Hence, the decrees from the Central Dynasty are typically discussed with the realm in advance to avoid disagreements.

With the decree, orders are issued.

Setting the date for the Nine Streams Conference grants all holders the qualification to attend.

”By decree!”

All disciples in the Council Hall responded in unison, their voices resonating continuously.

As this resounding voice fell, hundreds of rays of light suddenly burst from the Holy Command, like torrential rain, falling upon the core disciples of Lingyue Island.

Each ray of light represents a portion of Holy Will.

In the moment of receiving the Holy Will, Ling Chen felt his vitality, energy, and spirit enhance, as if a great will was invisibly protecting him.

”There is a barrier outside Spirit Mountain. Upon receiving the Holy Will, when the Nine Streams Conference commences, you will have unobstructed access to Spirit Mountain.”

The middle-aged man in the purple robe spoke again.

Spirit Mountain is a mountain enriched with spiritual veins, containing the Central Dynasty’s largest spiritual qi mine, an ideal location for cultivation, naturally a great place for tea tasting, sword discussions, and martial arts exchanges.

Upon hearing this, a group of Lingyue Island disciples in the hall began to discuss enthusiastically, each showing signs of excitement and anticipation.

The Nine Streams Conference is an event for evaluating talent, where levels like King, Divine Marquises, Heavenly Pride, and Outstanding are titles of genius. However, these aren’t all; below Outstanding, there are nine streams.

Even if one doesn’t earn those titles, being ranked as first stream or receiving remarks like ”excellent swordsmanship” or ”extraordinary blade technique” also garners fame, with a chance to make a name for oneself.

”Alright, I’ve gathered you here today for this matter. Since the decree has been announced, you may all return now.”

At this moment, the Saint Purple Heart on the main seat spoke. She stood up, surveyed the crowd, then continued: ”With the Nine Streams Conference approaching, I hope everyone can prepare well. Achieving excellent ratings not only benefits you greatly but also brings fame to the sect, and rewards will follow.”

Upon hearing this, the core disciples couldn’t help but clench their fists, showing vigorous determination.

Ling Chen also pondered for a moment. He had little pursuit for fame and fortune, but this significant event for the young generation in the Nine Province Sect Realm was an opportunity to meet influential peers; missing it would be regrettable.

Without competition and exchange, there’s no progress.

”Ling Chen, stay for a moment.”

Just as Ling Chen was about to exit the hall, the middle-aged man in the purple robe suddenly stopped him.

Ling Chen paused, looking at him with surprise.

After all the disciples and elders had exited the hall, the man in the purple robe spoke: ”Ling Chen, Her Majesty the Empress has decreed that you should visit her before the Nine Streams Conference begins.”

”By decree.”

Ling Chen cupped his fists, although he didn’t know why Empress Yun Yao had summoned him, but regarding the previous Witch Fiend Sect event, he hadn’t properly thanked her yet. With some new insights into the Green Lotus Sword Song, he didn’t mind sharing them with Empress Yun Yao, considering it returning the favor.
