Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1166: Chapter 1165: Return

”What happened?”

Lingxin Saint and the Seven Elders both turned back, their expressions filled with some doubt.

”It’s like this.”

Ling Chen briefly and comprehensively explained to the two about encountering the Mingyue Heavenly Demon in the underground space.

However, Ling Chen purposely hid the matter concerning the Dragon Soul Pearl, but essentially informed the two about the confinement of the Mingyue Heavenly Demon and the specific location.

The Mingyue Heavenly Demon being trapped in that place is ultimately a threat. If it can be eliminated with the help of an array formation, that would be the best. Otherwise, if it someday escapes, it could potentially lead to disaster.

”Mingyue Heavenly Demon? How is it that this scoundrel is not dead yet?”

Lingxin Saint and the Seven Elders were both shocked. It’s said that Mingyue Heavenly Demon fought on Mingyue Cliff with the Mysterious Heavenly Sword Saint and Void Buddhist Saint, with the two joining forces to kill Mingyue Heavenly Demon. But later, the Mysterious Heavenly Sword Saint and Void Buddhist Saint were also seriously injured and died shortly after returning to their sect.

Unexpectedly, the Mingyue Heavenly Demon hadn’t died but was merely sealed within the Demon Dragon Palace.

”This matter is of great significance, Lingxin Junior Sister. It seems we must make a trip.”

The face of the Seven Elders became unusually serious. A big devil character like this is a calamity for all living beings, and, if possible, must be thoroughly eliminated.

”Hmm.”

Lingxin Saint nodded. Lingyue Island is a righteous sect, and it’s their duty to slay demons and remove devils.

Mingyue Heavenly Demon once killed for practice, committing unforgivable sins. Such a vicious demon cannot be left unchecked.

Saying that, the two suddenly disappeared from their place, flashing into the air.

...

Outside the Demon Dragon Palace.

After receiving the emergency assembly signal, all disciples of Lingyue Island were already gathered here.

Ling Chen had long found a place to sit cross-legged and heal. The previous battle had exhausted him significantly, bringing his body to a near overdraft state. If not well recuperated, it could easily leave lasting repercussions.

Two hours later, Ling Chen’s aura recovered to about three points.

At this time, two figures swept out from the Demon Dragon Palace.

They were precisely Lingxin Saint and the Seven Elders.

Upon seeing the two emerge, Ling Chen’s eyes lit up as he greeted them, ”Elders, how did it go?”

Lingxin Saint shook her head, ”We went to the place you mentioned and encountered that monster you talked about, but the place inside was already empty, and the array seemed to have been destroyed.”

”Destroyed? Does it mean that the demon has already escaped?”

Ling Chen frowned. In such a short time, this female demon had already escaped? It shouldn’t be.

The array that trapped the Mingyue Heavenly Demon didn’t seem like it could be undone so quickly. If the Mingyue Heavenly Demon had the ability to destroy the array, he wouldn’t still be standing here.

Could it be that someone else entered that underground space and destroyed the array?

Otherwise, with just the power of Mingyue Heavenly Demon alone, she definitely couldn’t break through the array quickly.

”The Mingyue Heavenly Demon’s power is formidable; her escape poses a calamity for the entire Nine Province Sect Realm.”

The Seven Elders solemnly remarked.

”This matter is no longer only about Lingyue Island but the entire Nine Province Sect Realm. We must notify the other sects and have them carefully monitor the situation and discuss together how to handle this.”

Lingxin Saint suggested.

Mingyue Heavenly Demon is at the cultivation level of the Saint Dao Seventh Layer, and such prowess is scarce in the entire Nine Province Sect Realm.

If Mingyue Heavenly Demon regains her peak strength, it will certainly be extremely terrifying.

”In any case, let’s return to the sect first. This trial ends for now, and if there are further steps, we will notify again.”

The Seven Elders spoke to the disciples of Lingyue Island.

”That will have to do.”

Ling Chen nodded, although now he felt a bit worried. Having previously forcibly seized the Dragon Soul Pearl from the Mingyue Heavenly Demon, it’s likely that the demon now bears deep hatred for him. If she regains her strength, it’s likely he will be her first target.

But there’s no choice; calamity cannot be escaped. Since the demon has already escaped, he can only be vigilant.

”Are all the disciples here? Hmm, where is Free and Unrestrained Marquis? I haven’t seen him.”

The Seven Elders checked the number of disciples, then frowned, noticing the absence of Free and Unrestrained Marquis among the group.

”We haven’t seen Brother Free and Unrestrained Marquis either.”

Everyone shook their heads, indicating that they hadn’t seen Free and Unrestrained Marquis.

”This kid truly doesn’t care about the sect’s rules.”

The Seven Elders frowned even tighter, as all disciples had assembled, yet Free and Unrestrained Marquis was nowhere to be seen. This guy, even after seeing the signal, didn’t come to join the assembly?

”It’s not the first or second time such a thing has happened. This kid, relying on his power, never adheres to control. He may have already left the Secret Treasury on his own, so there’s no need to concern ourselves too much about him.” Lingxin Saint seemed long accustomed to Free and Unrestrained Marquis’s elusive manner and didn’t plan to wait further. Generally, their waiting never yields any results during such times.

”Alright then, should we encounter this kid again, we should certainly talk to him thoroughly.”

The Seven Elders nodded, then flipped his hand to release the Flying Puppet.

All the Lingyue Island disciples boarded the Flying Puppet and prepared to leave.

At this moment, not far from here on a mountain peak, there were a man and woman staring at this place.

These two were none other than the Mingyue Heavenly Demon and the blue-robed youth who helped him escape.

”You scoundrel, daring to take what’s mine, one day I’ll make you regret it immensely.”

Looking at the departing Lingyue Island disciples, Mingyue Heavenly Demon’s gaze locked onto Ling Chen, with a cold glint in her eyes.

”We should also leave, Senior Mingyue. That person has arrived in Jiankang City.”

The blue-robed youth remarked indifferently.

”Lead the way.”

Mingyue Heavenly Demon’s gaze returned from Ling Chen, leaving the Dragon Soul Pearl in Ling Chen’s possession for now. Even if he absorbs and refines the Dragon Soul Power within, it doesn’t matter. Once she catches Ling Chen, she naturally has ways to make him return every bit he swallowed.

The two moved swiftly and disappeared from their place.

”Hmm?”

At this moment, Ling Chen, aboard the Flying Puppet, instinctively glanced back toward a mountain peak, his eyes flashing with golden light as he pushed his vision to its limit. The scene on that mountain was completely visible to him, but surprisingly, it was already empty.

”Strange, did I sense incorrectly?”

Ling Chen frowned, as he clearly sensed a trace of energy from that spot earlier, thinking someone was spying on him, only to find no one there.

”Looks like my nerves have been too tense these days.”

Ling Chen slowly exhaled, retracted his gaze, then sat down cross-legged, closing his eyes to rest.
