Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 434: Chapter 222: Saint Monk

Chu Xiu scrutinized the short and stout monk before him.

This person gave him a very peculiar feeling; there was both decay and life force within him, as if...

As if a decayed body had been forcibly infused with a large amount of life force to barely drive this frail and aging body.

Withdrawing his gaze, Chu Xiu calmly said, ”The apocalypse is approaching, the Peach Blossom Spring will be utterly destroyed, and the only way to let the people here survive is to leave this place.”

”I’ve come this time to find a way to safely evacuate all twenty thousand residents.”

As Chu Xiu’s words fell, murmurs immediately filled the scene, and the elders glanced at each other, showing doubtful expressions on their faces.

Only the Great Elder remained calm, merely saying, ”May I ask how you came to know this news? Who exactly are you, and how can we be sure that what you say is true?”

Facing the question from the Great Elder, Chu Xiu merely lifted his eyes slightly, looking behind him.

There, the Third Elder sat in a wheelchair, bones broken, looking at Chu Xiu with eyes full of both resentment and fear.

Chu Xiu couldn’t care less as he said, ”With my power, I could completely destroy the Buddhist Sect, so why would I need to lie?”

After saying that, the elders all showed anger on their faces, but after glancing at the Third Elder, who couldn’t even move, they held back.

The Great Elder said, ”Your power is indeed astonishing, but our Buddhist Sect is also guarded by the Eighteen Arhats and the Four Great Vajra. We have lived here for thousands of years; how could we relocate our entire clan based on the words of an outsider?”

The Great Elder’s words made the other elders show agreement on their faces, each voicing their support.

This made Chu Xiu frown slightly, but he was also prepared, giving a meaningful glance to the Buddhist Sect’s monitor beside him.

The latter understood and stepped forward to hand an item to the Great Elder.

It was a device similar to a recorder, and when turned on, a segment of footage played.

In the footage, there was a massive army of Hungry Ghosts, followed by Chu Xiu stepping forward to fight against the Yaksha and the Hungry Ghosts.

It could be seen that the footage was taken from a watchtower; though not very clear due to the distance, the general battlefield situation could still be discerned.

Upon seeing the dense horde of Hungry Ghosts, the elders already showed shock, and when they saw the two thousand Upper Position Hungry Ghosts hovering in the sky, their eyes widened in disbelief!

They were high-ranking, not naive fools unaware of worldly matters. In fact, each elder had responsibilities, and their long lives had given them profound insights into everything.

Even in historical records, a double-digit number of Upper Position Hungry Ghosts already signified an apocalyptic disaster, requiring the power of the Buddhist Sect to guard against, or else the frontline would easily collapse!

But this... two thousand Upper Position Hungry Ghosts?

Probably even if the Eighteen Arhats and Four Great Vajra all deployed, they wouldn’t be able to stop them!

And the ensuing battle made the elders’ eyes nearly pop out!

Among these Upper Position Hungry Ghosts, there were even more terrifying General Tier and King Tier Hungry Ghosts! The power of the Hungry Ghost Leader was simply inconceivable, easily capable of destroying the Vajra!

Yet such a terrifying horde of Hungry Ghosts was blocked and slaughtered by Chu Xiu alone!

Watching the figure that walked like the Death God, each swing of his blade effortlessly slaying hundreds of Upper Position Hungry Ghosts like slaughtering chickens, the elders were utterly stunned.

At this moment, the resentment in the Third Elder’s eyes had completely vanished, leaving only fear and dread. Only now did he fully understand the enormous gap between himself and Chu Xiu, realizing that if the latter wanted to kill him, it would be no different than squashing an ant!

However, shattering his bones, yet allowing him to recuperate and recover with Buddhist Technique, was already an immense mercy.

Finally, the battle between Chu Xiu and the Yaksha made the elders abandon any thought of resistance.

Such high-intensity confrontation was certainly not something the Vajra and Arhats could partake in; these statues, god-like to ordinary people, were no different than clumsy turtles in front of Chu Xiu.

Only then did they fully understand the weight of Chu Xiu’s words, ”Why would I need to lie?”

Without further words, the Great Elder nodded and said, ”We will cooperate with your actions as much as possible; however, the composition of this place and how to leave, only the Saint Monk knows. Only the Saint Monk can control the Celestial Dragon, so we must report to the Saint Monk.”

”However, several months ago, the Saint Monk declared seclusion, refusing to see anyone, and our previous attempts to seek an audience were all unanswered.”

The Great Elder’s words stirred something within Chu Xiu.

The timing of this Saint Monk’s seclusion... seemed to coincide with the strengthening of the Abyssal Power?

Could it be that this Saint Monk is also related to the Eight Divisions?

In fact, Chu Xiu had long suspected this because the top-ranked being in the Eight Divisions, the Celestial, had never shown up.

The connection between the Celestial and the Saint Monk, or even the possibility that the Celestial is the Saint Monk, was a plausible hypothesis.

However, according to records, the Saint Monk’s power didn’t seem particularly strong, which was why Chu Xiu hadn’t paid much attention.

But thinking back now, the other members of the Eight Divisions also gained power rapidly post-abyssal descent. The Yaksha once mentioned that his power increased tenfold in just a few months.

Could it be that the ruler of this Peach Blossom Spring is actually the Celestial, the top member of the Eight Divisions?
