Chapter 1342: Section 1343 White Bear’s Staying or Leaving

However, the spread of this special energy was not very fast, and Angel did not know how to accelerate its diffusion. Based on the current progress, it may take some time to diffuse throughout the entire Gate Model.

The research on the Gate Model is hereby paused for now.

Next, Angel focused on the Phantom Limb. Since there was no need to worry about the consumption of energy in releasing the Phantom Limb, he focused more on further development of its application methods.

Time lapsed, and a week had gone by since Angel had experienced the Law Creation Phenomenon.

Sanders hadn’t logged into the Wilderness of Dreams, but seeing the Magic Falcon’s contented demeanor, it seemed that nothing of note had happened in the real world.

Two more days passed, and Angel didn’t wait for Sanders; instead, White Bear came to visit.

When Angel saw White Bear in the estate, he was communicating with Lyon in the clouds above. Upon Angel’s arrival, White Bear stared at him with a strange look in his eyes.

“It really is you,” White Bear sighed.

Lyon glanced at White Bear in confusion, not understanding what he meant.

“From fragments of the River of Fate, I could sense the faint ripples of world consciousness on you. Although it’s impossible to peek into the past and the future, you were the one who created law at the Whisker Sea, weren’t you?” White Bear inhaled deeply, looking straight at Angel.

Angel was startled for a moment, and upon seeing White Bear and Lyon’s gazes turning toward him, he laughed it off, “You could catch that bit of Law Creation Phenomenon?”

White Bear shook his head. “I didn’t see it myself; it was my sister who noticed it. But she didn’t know who was creating law. Only when I came to see you this time did I discover something unusual about you.”

Angel doubted that his faint Law Creation Phenomenon could reach Flourish Continent, but it was plausible for Eulica, being so close on Old Earth Continent, to sense it.

With this thought, Angel had no intention of denying it, “Yes, it was indeed me.”

Although White Bear already had his suspicion, when Angel admitted it, he still felt a profound shock. He stared silently at Angel for a long time before exhaling deeply.

There are disparities between individuals, and White Bear had always understood this.

However, White Bear had never truly felt it until he met Dororo and Angel.

At the beginning, both of them were weaker than him. But in a short time, they had improved so dramatically, surpassing White Bear at an astonishing pace. Now, it seemed he might not even be able to catch their shadows.

He was still pondering how to elevate himself to become a peak Apprentice, to ascend to an Official Wizard.

Yet Angel had already created law and invoked the descent of the world consciousness, which meant… even the path of True Knowledge was wide open to him.

Life is happiest when one does not compare oneself with others, but reality was forcing White Bear to make comparisons.

White Bear’s sense of loss was evident; he fell silent. Lyon, on the other hand, asked curiously, “Creating law? Does that mean creating tricks?”

Angel nodded.

Lyon’s eyes lit up, “Then what kind of trick did you create?”

White Bear pricked up his ears too. Such a somewhat private question was not one he felt comfortable to inquire himself. However, as Angel’s brother, it was appropriate for Lyon to ask; Angel was likely to answer him, right?

Angel did indeed answer, just as White Bear expected, but it was an indirect response.

“That book ‘Basic Tricks: Revised’ I gave you contains all original tricks. Instead of being concerned about what law I created, you’re better off focusing on learning from that book.”

According to the default rules in the Wizards’ Realm, the knowledge acquired from the current Witcher Organization should not be shared lightly with others, even with Lyon being Angel’s brother. Therefore, Angel had given ‘Basic Tricks: Revised’ to Lyon because the tricks recorded in it were derived and modified using a Holographic Tablet and did not count as the original.

Of course, if Lyon had the capability, he could reverse-engineer to understand the original tricks. But since Angel included revised versions in the book, it meant he saw more advantages in them, thus making reverse-engineering unnecessary.

Lyon, who was still unclear about the significance of creating law, also knew that the tricks in ‘Basic Tricks: Revised’ were Angel’s creations. Hearing this, it seemed like creating law wasn’t so great after all.

With that, Lyon did not pursue what Angel might have created this time, but instead scratched his head and chuckled, eyes wandering.

From Lyon’s expression, Angel could tell he must have neglected to study tricks in favor of learning combat skills with Sabel every day.

Angel did not compare whether it was better for Lyon to learn combat skills at that moment, or to calm down and learn tricks. Instead, he cited an example:

“Close-quarters combat skills are important, but what if you face a flying creature? How would you approach and fight them then? You can’t expect your opponent to descend voluntarily to attack you.”

“Before you’ve integrated a flying-capable Bloodline, what you can do is learn tricks to counter such opponents.”

Lyon understood and nodded compliantly.

White Bear, however, hadn’t expected the conversation about creating law to veer off in such a strange direction. He’d wanted to inquire further about what kind of law Angel had created, but now it seemed there was no chance.

“`

After Angel finished speaking with Lyon, he turned to White Bear again, “By the way, what brings you to the manor this time?”

Speaking of his purpose, White Bear replied with a serious tone, “It’s still about Red, sir. He has sent a message not long ago, currently entangled in some trivial matters and temporarily unable to return. Therefore, Lyon might still be without his guidance.”

“Unable to return? You mean, the mentor has left?” Lyon said in surprise, understanding Angel’s previous explanation that Suise had matters to attend to and couldn’t teach him for the time being simply meant he was too busy. But now, hearing White Bear’s tone, had Suise actually left?

White Bear nodded, “Yes, it seems that Ghostface had something important for him, and he has already left the Old Earth Continent, leaving behind only an avatar with his sister.”

The “Ghostface” that White Bear referred to was actually “Crimson Ghostface” Elisa, who was Suise’s sister.

Naturally, Lyon was also aware of who Elisa was. Knowing this situation, he could only nod in acceptance.

After relayig the message, White Bear prepared to leave the manor, but at that moment, Angel stopped him.

“Unless there’s an unexpected change, I plan to leave the Old Earth Continent once my mentor returns,” said Angel, startling both White Bear and Lyon.

“Do you plan to stay here, or would you come back with us?” Angel asked White Bear. Since it was Angel who brought White Bear to the Old Earth Continent, he didn’t mind taking him back if White Bear wished.

White Bear was silent for a moment, but eventually shook his head, “Having finally found my sister, I plan to stay by her side for now.”

Angel said, “You know that staying by Eulica’s side means you’re willingly getting involved in the secrets of the ancient Gumon treasure. Even though Rolando is currently controlled, the trouble hasn’t been fully eliminated. It’s actually quite dangerous for you to be by her side.”

White Bear understood the reasoning, but he still said, “Before, Mentor Maya told me it was time to leave Barbarian Cave and gain some experience. But I was always waiting for fate to tell me the answer, so I never dared to leave.”

“Now, staying by my sister’s side is also a form of training, isn’t it?”

Although for White Bear this was a dangerous matter, training was about embracing life in the face of death.

White Bear left, and Angel did not continue to dissuade him. White Bear was much older than him, and his life was full of twists and hardships from growth. In this regard, White Bear knew better how to live well.

Moreover, White Bear was a Prophecy Apprentice. In his own words: fate would guide him to the correct path.

In White Bear’s life, as an outsider, Angel naturally would not interfere with his choices.

After White Bear left, Lyon hesitated before asking about Angel’s earlier mention of “leaving.”

Although Lyon did not voice it, one could see a hint of reluctance in his eyes.

Angel spoke calmly, “Since Red is not currently in the Old Earth Continent, I think you can consider the suggestion I made to you before.”

“What suggestion?”

“The New Star Tournament,” Angel paused. “You could try participating in the preliminary rounds of the New Star Tournament.”

…

When Angel returned to his room, he began drafting designs on paper.

Once the designs were almost complete, Angel was surrounded by various alchemy materials.

He planned to forge a set of alchemy equipment for Lyon.

Previously, he suggested that Lyon should attend the New Star Tournament, and it was after considerable thought: it was vital for Lyon to be exposed to the broader Wizards’ Realm to grow progressively.

Lyon did not agree immediately but told Angel that he needed time to think.

However, judging from what Angel understood about Lyon, his attitude was already wavering. What currently troubled Lyon the most was his sense of responsibility towards his “people” and the “manor,” making him reluctant to leave immediately.

But now, with the very determined and meticulous “Turin” as the Butler, Angel believed that with Turin’s managerial abilities, temporarily taking over the manor and arranging for the citizens of Gru Town, there wouldn’t be any problems.

So, it was just a matter of time before Lyon agreed.

Even if something unexpected occurred and Lyon refused to leave, that would be fine too. After all, forging a set of equipment for Lyon was also Angel’s wish.

As for achieving a notable result in the New Star Tournament with that alchemy equipment, Angel hadn’t thought of that.

He had suggested that Lyon participate in the tournament purely for broadening his horizons and, if the opportunity arose, to introduce his friends to Lyon.

With Lyon’s current capabilities, truly achieving a good result was nearly impossible.

Just gaining experience and broadening his knowledge in the preliminary rounds would be sufficient to meet the goal.
