Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 599: Chapter 9 The Battle Has Begun! [Subscribe Requested]_3

The Security Team launched their attack!

The surface artillery fire was equally fierce. Compared to those in the air, most ground war vehicles were not controlled by the powerful ones. So within the first instant, some vehicles exploded under the intense artillery fire!

The fire soared into the sky, with vehicles hit directly by the red light shattering instantly. The ground within at least a hundred meters in all directions was engulfed in flames!

However, aside from the vehicles directly hit by the red light, even if other vehicles were covered with flames or hit by small fragments of artillery fire, they didn’t show any sign of damage. They continued to charge relentlessly towards the defense line of the Security Team!

”Roar! Roar! Roar!!!” Stone giants and other powerful beings led the charge. They were the ones enduring most of the artillery fire, but Jia Yan had selected beings with high defensive capabilities. The red light shots they faced caused minimal damage. They unleashed their powerful brainwave abilities to block the attacks. If anything, the damage only fueled their ferocity and made them charge even more aggressively!

Boom!!

Just before nearing the Security Team’s defensive line, the Stone giant, Long Wu suddenly stomped on the ground, causing a terrifying fracture!

Even though Fifth City was close to the Gold Desert, the ground here was perfectly solid. However, the Stone giant’s one step had caused a gaping tear. It quickly spread out to form a terrifying rift which reached right where the Security Team’s defense was set up!

Despite being massive and cumbersome, the Stone giant’s tactical acumen was commendable for using this method to undermine the enemy’s defensive line!

”You wish!”

On the other side, a flash of energy from the No.5 City Security Team halted the spreading rift in the ground, safeguarding their defense line from any damage!

”Charge! Charge!”

On one side, the advancing vehicles had reached near the defensive line. Some of them were incredibly huge, over twenty meters high. Their heavy bodies endowed them with formidable charging power!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

These massive machines began hitting against the Security Team’s defensive positions.

The Security Team’s position was made from incredibly sturdy metal. They used a special kind of metal that was quickly assembled for defense. It not only had tremendous resistance against collisions but also was fire and water-resistant. Encapsulated by the emergency energy defense module, their defense line was fully fortified!

Despite the heavy blows, the defense line of the Security Team remained unshaken!

However, they remained undeterred, with no one believing that the defense line of Fifth City would be destroyed that easily. These heavy-duty vehicles quickly turned to prepare for the next round of collision!

After all, if they could continue, the opponent’s defense would eventually reach a limit, and then it would be the moment for them to break through!

Boom!

But the defense team wasn’t merely waiting to be hit. They seized the moment when these heavy-duty vehicles were exposed and launched a fierce artillery attack!

Sudden explosions echoed everywhere, with one vehicle after another getting damaged!

The ground was littered with the terrifying aftermath of the destructive battle.

Jia Yan was flying above the ground, his body hovering in the sky without flapping his wings. Coupled with the dark night around him, the sight was surreal.

”As expected of a regular combat unit, Fifth City wouldn’t be easy!” He assessed the initial skirmish and made this judgment.

The opponents weren’t extremely powerful but their equipment and tactical formation outclassed the Earth Army’s approach. Moreover, the Earth Army’s morale was unstable, with some thinking of fleeing. Of course, those who dared to escape would meet a tragic end.

”But their defeat is inevitable!”

Jia Yan concluded. It wasn’t hard to see. The opponents were simply outnumbered. Despite having a superior fleet of aircraft, their elite forces were now held back by the powerful beings brought by him himself. The level of skill of these fifty aircraft couldn’t compare to the ones that attacked Earth City previously, thus their combat power was greatly reduced.

The only thing they needed to worry about now was the defensive artillery fire from Fifth City and possible resistance once they entered the city. But if there was no organized army to resist, they expected the resistance to not pose much of a threat.

Once they entered the city, their aim wasn’t to occupy it, or even come into much contact or combat with the powerful inhabitants...

Jia Yan looked down at the battle beneath him, and then turned his gaze to where Daphne was, amidst the war vehicles...

”The only obstacle now is the city’s defensive artillery fire! As for how to break it ... that depends on Daphne’s backup plan!”

Down below, Daphne also thought about the artillery fire, but unlike Big Mosquito’s concern, she remained composed. Despite being her first time commanding an Outer Star battle, she had experienced countless wars and battles on Earth over the past three hundred years, and thus showed no signs of emotional turmoil.

”Alright, tell our backups to begin their ’sweeping’ operations on the city’s artillery!” She calmly instructed.

”Yes!” The Noodle Man sitting beside Daphne agreed with a look of admiration.

He now realized that Daphne might have had a battle plan for Fifth City for a long time. Every detail, even the smallest arrangements, had been carefully planned!

(Happy May Day!!!)
