Capítulo 1349: Chapter 498: Chairman! (Part 2)

After negotiations, Rongliu Investment and Gathering Emotion Gold have nominated Zhang Jin as their representative on the board.

The independent director in charge of auditing and remuneration, Zhang Wenchao, was replaced by Chen Xiaolan, a candidate nominated by Lin Muxue.

He Jingping’s hands were tightly clasped on the conference table, his expression extremely serious.

With a seven-member board, Tang Song already controlled four seats.

It was at this moment that he finally realized that he had completely lost control of the Huashang Clothing board.

He had been working at Huashang Clothing for over 20 years, treating this company as his life’s blood and sweat, but now it was forcibly taken away.

Anger, unwillingness, pain, all kinds of emotions churned in his chest.

He had always valued Tang Song, this major shareholder holding 35%, and had always been courteous in conversations.

When small conflicts arose in cooperation, he would proactively invite them for private meetings to communicate and resolve the issues.

When he found conflicts of interest and the other party refused to compromise, he took the initiative to make concessions, allocating part of the new production line’s capacity, which was entirely sufficient for Songmei Clothing to start initial operations.

But he didn’t expect the other party to act ruthlessly and directly seize control of Huashang Clothing.

This is really too much!

Beside him, He Zhihui’s face was ashen, full of coldness as he looked at Tang Song.

Although the board is important, the vast Huashang Clothing has thousands of employees. Controlling it isn’t just talk.

From the CEO to middle management, most were selected by their family.

Even if he controls the board, so what? Ultimately, Huashang is still the He Family’s Huashang!

Could Tang Song really replace everyone?

Would he dare?! Isn’t he afraid of collapsing the company?

At this moment.

“Knock, knock—”

Tang Song’s finger lightly tapped the conference table; the sound was not loud, yet it focused everyone’s gaze on him.

His tone was calm yet unquestionable: “I represent the new controlling party and nominate the following candidates.”

“First, I nominate myself to enter the board.”

This nomination was no surprise; according to company bylaws, Tang Song, holding 35%, originally had two board seats, although he had always held both voting rights alone.

“Secondly…” Tang Song’s gaze passed over everyone and landed on that silent figure in the corner, “I nominate Huashang Clothing’s current President, Mr. Wu Wei.”

Upon hearing this, Huang Yangming and Wang Chengliang were shocked, not quite reacting.

Who is Wu Wei?

He Jingping’s handpicked confidant, a key figure, Huashang Clothing’s real power CEO!

The formerly cold-eyed He Zhihui suddenly straightened up, his eyes exploding with ecstatic light.

Currently, three of the seven seats belong to their family side, while previously Tang Song firmly controlled four.

Now, nominating Wu Wei means returning control, doesn’t it?

Is this guy afraid of company’s problems and wants to win over Wu Wei this way? Stabilize the company situation?

This is too foolish, right?

He instinctively glanced at his father, only to see He Jingping looking ashen, his right hand clutching the pen, staring at Wu Wei with incredulous eyes.

He Zhihui’s heart skipped a beat, suddenly feeling ominous.

Wu Wei slowly stood up, wearing a sharp dark gray suit specially for today, standing with arms at ease, his gaze sharp as a sword, drastically different from his usual demeanor.

“Thank you, Chairman Tang, for your trust. I won’t let you down. Here, I also assure all shareholders that every decision made by Huashang Clothing will prioritize enhancing shareholder value as the highest principle, using tangible performance to reward this trust.”

His voice was steady and confident, never sparing a glance for He Jingping.

He Jingping’s pupils sharply contracted, his chest heaving violently.

He Zhihui suddenly realized, jumping up, his chair scraping the floor loudly.

“President Wu! You—”

“Zhihui, shut up!” He Jingping shouted sternly.

Beside him, Lin Muxue slightly raised her lips, speaking indifferently: “Director He, this is a shareholders’ meeting, mind your words!”

Now, she is the shareholder representative of Rongliu Investment, far above He Zhihui in status and position, justifiably reprimanding him.

Refreshing! So refreshing!

Wu Wei’s expression remained unchanged, yet inside, he felt pleased.

For nine years, he contributed greatly to Huashang Clothing, helping the company generate substantial profits.

But his equity incentive plan was delayed repeatedly; He Jingping never considered letting him join the board.

Under He Jingping’s control, he was always just a professional manager, replaceable at any time.

As a strong, ambitious company CEO, he would, of course, make the right decision.

…

After the board restructure proposal concluded.

According to the original agenda, voting began on the proposal to establish a joint venture company between Huashang Clothing and Yingqu Media.

Following shareholder voting, it ultimately failed with 55.4% opposition.

He Jingping and others looked solemn, saying nothing.

The shareholder meeting officially ended.

Gathering Emotion Gold’s representative, Zhang Jin, stood up, “I propose we hold the first meeting of the new board now.”

Upon hearing this, Director Wang He beside He Jingping slammed the table, “Chairman Zhang! Holding a board meeting requires a 3-day notice in advance, this is a procedural violation!”

Holding a board meeting at this point, the intention is clear, certainly to re-elect the chairman.

They naturally don’t want to see this happen.

Zhang Jin’s expression remained calm: “We four board members can sign the ‘Waiver of Notice Period Consent’ on the spot. In such cases, an emergency board meeting is compliant under company bylaws.”
