Chapter 1343: Chapter 496: Old Classmates in Shanghai (Part 2)

”Alright, alright, I was wrong. Then let’s stick out our big butt, haha!”

”Snap—snap—”

They laughed and played around for a while.

Yao Lingling took the phone and picked the most satisfying photo to share with Tang Song.

”Buzz buzz buzz—”

Seeing the cute emoji from Tang Song, Yao Lingling’s lips curved upwards, and she twisted her body happily.

Li Shumin seized the opportunity and said, ”Lingling, look at how happy Senior Tang Song is right now. Why not take this chance to ask about our job situation? See if we can get into Huashang Clothing like Jiahong.”

Zhang Jiahong, who just came out of the kitchen, hesitated for a moment and interjected, ”Minmin, that’s not a big deal. An assistant designer or design assistant isn’t a core position, so slipping someone in is possible. But Lingling’s situation might be tricky. Our department of fashion designers is currently saturated; each one has their own product line, and we might even have to lay off some...”

Having been with Huashang Clothing for some time now, Zhang Jiahong has slowly ingrained herself into the coworkers’ circle and has learned about the company’s situation.

The 2023 performance dropped significantly year-on-year, and almost all in-house brand product lines were losing money. Just last week, a colleague mentioned there might be an optimization of a few designers.

Hearing this, Yao Lingling and Li Shumin became anxious.

After a moment of silence, Yao Lingling shook her head and said, ”No worries. I have some achievements, so even if I have to find a job outside, it shouldn’t be hard.”

There were many things she hadn’t mentioned to her two roommates, like Lin Muxue’s special status.

Given Lin’s performance at the fashion exhibition, she surely could help with job arrangements.

However, she didn’t want to trouble Tang Song and hoped to prove herself through hard work, earning more admiration from him.

”But... big companies all require experience, and small companies are unreliable,” Jiahong was about to continue analyzing when suddenly the video call ringtone rang.

Li Shumin exclaimed, ”It’s Senior Tang Song! And it’s a video call!”

”Let me answer it!”

Li Shumin and Zhang Jiahong leaned in together, and Yao Lingling gave them a little push. Seeing it was ineffective, she glared at them angrily.

The video call connected.

A face appeared on the screen that was excessively handsome.

The three girls blushed a bit.

Early in the morning, with the dry autumn weather, seeing such a heartthrob makes one feel like getting a nosebleed.

”Hey, Senior, good morning.” Yao Lingling adjusted the camera to make herself look better.

”Good morning, Lingling.” Tang Song’s pleasant voice came through the receiver, ”Have you eaten yet?”

”No, but Jiahong is already cooking. We’ll be able to eat soon.”

They chatted briefly about ordinary things, and Tang Song said, ”I called to talk to you about your and Minmin’s job issues.”

Upon hearing this, Li Shumin’s eyes lit up instantly, and she leaned over halfway, ”Senior, I’m here! Ready for your orders anytime!”

Tang Song chuckled lightly, ”Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays are coming up soon. I want to sort things out for you both before the holidays so you won’t overthink things.”

Yao Lingling quickly said, ”Thank you for taking the trouble, Senior. We appreciate it.”

”You’re welcome.” Tang Song paused and asked, ”Minmin, do you want to join Huashang Clothing? It’s the same department and position where Jiahong works.”

”I do!” Li Shumin nodded vigorously, then felt it was too unreserved, so she said quietly, ”I’ll follow Senior’s advice, wherever you suggest.”

”That’s great. Just report to HR this morning at around 9 o’clock, and let Jiahong accompany you.”

Li Shumin’s eyes widened in disbelief, ”Huh? No interview?”

”No need. Last time with Jiahong, I took a roundabout way to avoid her refusal. If you have no objections, just bring your documents for onboarding. I’ll make sure everything’s arranged.”

”Thank you, dear Senior! Thank you, dear Senior! You’re amazing!” Li Shumin bowed repeatedly on camera, expressing her gratitude.

They all giggled and laughed for a while.

Tang Song turned his gaze back to Yao Lingling, ”Lingling, although I know you’d like to work with them, now...”

Before he finished speaking, Yao Lingling quickly gestured, ”Senior, don’t worry about me. I can find a suitable job myself. I’ve been talking to a few fashion companies on Boss Hiring. I’m fine! I’ll soon get an offer!”

”Oh?” Tang Song raised an eyebrow, ”Are you saying you want to reject my offer?”

”Ah? Reject you?” Yao Lingling was taken aback and quickly explained, ”No, no! I didn’t mean it like that. I just didn’t want to cause you any trouble.”

Tang Song laughed, ”I’ve also prepared an offer for you. Are you interested?”

Yao Lingling was dumbfounded, ”Senior, what do you mean?”

Tang Song cleared his throat, sat up straight, and said seriously, ”Hello, student Yao Lingling. I’m Tang Song, CEO of Songmei Clothing. Our company mainly engages in live-streaming e-commerce. The business has now reached a stable phase, and to increase fan engagement and improve profit margins... we plan to create our own women’s clothing brand...”

As he brightly introduced, the three girls’ eyes grew wider.

When they first met Tang Song on Little Red Book, he claimed to be a programmer. He mentioned doing live streaming, and they thought it was technical-related, but it turned out to be selling clothes.

And he seemed to be doing great, even planning to create his own brand.

After Tang Song finished speaking, he looked at her and asked, ”Now I’m inviting you to be the first core designer of our new brand, mainly responsible for coordinating with our contractor, Huashang Clothing. What do you think, Lingling? Give it a thought?”
