Chapter 1347: Chapter 497: Shareholders’ Meeting, Power Shift (Part 3)

He Zhihui’s body trembled, his lips moved slightly, about to speak.

Lin Muxue gracefully stood up, composed and confident, and said, ”I am the representative of Rongliu Investment, Lin Muxue. I support President Zhang’s proposal. Our firm has completed the acquisition of 14.4% of shares held by Chengrong Group and Dingyun Investment.”

Immediately, the colleague beside her took out a thick stack of documents and neatly placed them on the meeting table.

Lin Muxue’s tone suddenly shifted, serious and earnest, ”We request an immediate update of the shareholder register to confirm the effective voting rights ratio for this meeting.”

President Li of Dingyun Investment stood up proactively and solemnly announced, ”Dear shareholders, the equity transfer agreement we have reached with Rongliu Investment is based on confidence in the company’s future development. Their proposed reform plan aligns with Huashang Clothing’s long-term interests, therefore, we have decided to support this decision.”

President Qin of Chengrong Group followed closely, expressing a supportive stance as well.

This sudden turn of events shocked everyone present.

Even the four minor shareholders didn’t anticipate such a development.

Their 6% stake can’t affect the overall situation; even if sold entirely, the He Jingping family remains the largest shareholder of Huashang Clothing.

But if we add the 14.4% from the two major institutions, then the balance really shifts.

Lin Muxue looked at the father and son duo in a daze, feeling the focus of all eyes on her, her foot forcefully tapping the shoe’s sole beneath the table.

She felt she had performed the act to the utmost, her whole being emitting brilliance.

Then, whispers filled the conference room, the atmosphere tense enough to squeeze out water.

He Zhihui’s face was pale as paper, still a bit unresponsive, feeling a wave of dizziness wash over him.

He Jingping looked at the calm Tang Song and already guessed the truth of the situation.

His eyes were full of anger and confusion.

”Bang!” He Jingping slammed the meeting table, the sound loud yet slightly trembling, ”Chairman Tang, what do you mean by this? Why didn’t we receive any notice beforehand?”

In his view, he had done everything properly, valuing harmony.

It’s just one production line, is this necessary?

Tang Song’s tone was calm, ”Chairman He, this is normal business practice, completely legal and compliant.”

He Jingping gritted his teeth, momentarily speechless.

The reason such a problem arose was because he never imagined someone would be willing to use such a large amount of cash just to hold control over Huashang Clothing.

With the current company’s valuation, acquiring this 20.4% stake requires nearly 440 million in cash.

Plus the 35% Tang Song previously acquired, he’s spent a total of 1.1 billion.

What kind of concept is this?

Someone able to mobilize such cash flow must be worth billions!

Of course, Tang Song jointly holds control with external investment firms and private equity, but it’s still quite puzzling.

After all, Huashang Clothing is just a traditional clothing processing company, what investment firm would throw money into this industry?

Simply incomprehensible!

Tang Song raised his head, his tone steady yet highly penetrating, ”Dear colleagues, according to the statements just made by the two representatives, I propose an immediate update of the company shareholder register and a reconfirmation of this meeting’s effective voting rights ratio.”

President Li was the first to express agreement, ”We fully agree with Chairman Tang’s proposal, the relevant documents have been submitted to the company’s legal department and can be verified at any time.”

”Yes, to ensure procedural justice, I suggest we expedite the implementation. This is entirely in accordance with the company’s charter.”

In the meeting room, complex glances fell upon He Jingping.

Everyone waited for his response, as if time had frozen.

He Jingping bowed his head in silence for a long time, sweat drops quietly rolling down his forehead.

Taking a deep breath, he grimly nodded towards Secretary Zhang behind him.

”Handle it as soon as possible,” his voice was low and hoarse.

Within ten minutes, Huashang Clothing’s Head of Legal Affairs rushed to the venue, accompanied by CEO Wu Wei.

The updated shareholder register was quickly printed and distributed to every attendee.

He Jingping’s hands trembled slightly, not unfolding it to look closely.

With the completion of the register update, Chengrong Group, Dingyun Investment, and the other four minor shareholder representatives voluntarily got up and left the meeting.

The vast meeting room suddenly became extraordinarily quiet.

An indescribable sense of oppression filled the air, as if even breathing became heavy.

In this brief silence, everyone’s gaze unconsciously gathered at the same spot.

”In light of the change in company control, I propose we pause the original agenda and temporarily add a topic,” Tang Song’s gaze swept across the room, still calm and composed, ”Reorganize the board of directors.”
