“Click—” Shen Yuyan opened a can of cold drink and gently passed it to Tang Song.

“This year, the number of micro short dramas registered for filming has surpassed 2,200, and the total market size of short dramas is expected to reach 37 billion for the year…”

“The rapid development of the market has attracted a large influx of capital, and many listed companies are actively getting involved in the micro short drama business…”

Under Shen Yuyan’s guidance, the topic gradually shifted to “micro short dramas.”

Tang Song listened quietly, chiming in with a few words from time to time.

He had a basic understanding of the recently popular short dramas, which was a new form of TV series.

They were short in duration, tightly plotted, diverse in themes, catering to the audience’s need for quick cultural consumption, and indeed had great market prospects.

Xu Qing also showed considerable enthusiasm, joining in the discussion of the recently popular short dramas; after all, she was about to start a new job at a new company and had seriously looked up information in this area, speaking eloquently about it.

Sometimes she would act coquettishly, sometimes help Tang Song with his dishes, playing the role of atmosphere maker.

The atmosphere at the dinner table was very pleasant with constant laughter.

…

Approaching 9 o’clock in the evening.

Tang Song took a sip of his chilled beverage and, smiling at the two youthful and beautiful alumni sitting opposite him, said, “I really enjoyed tonight’s dinner; I ate quite a bit. Now let’s talk about the investment.”

He was very pleased with the performance of these two alumni today.

And the matter also involved his own growth task; it was time to proceed further.

Shen Yuyan nodded slightly and gently put down her chopsticks.

After a moment of silence, she looked into Tang Song’s eyes and said, “Tang Song, first I want to say sorry. Youjie Housekeeping has attracted a new investor, an intelligent home appliance company from Imperial City, which complements our platform. The other shareholders all prefer to accept this company’s investment, so… I’m sorry, we mainly wanted to apologize to you for this today.”

Under the table, she nudged her best friend, her bright and clear peach blossom eyes full of profound apologies.

Xu Qing quickly swallowed the braised pork in her mouth, bent over and lowered her head, saying, “I’m sorry!”

Her pigtails flew as she bowed, looking very sincere.

Tang Song raised his eyebrows and, after a moment of thought, understood the key issue, “It’s because the other partners have an issue with me, right?”

It wasn’t difficult to guess.

He had learned about Shen Yuyan’s entrepreneurial process from Xu Qing, and through the business plan and research on Gathering Emotion Gold, he understood very clearly the internal equity structure and personnel relationships of Youjie Housekeeping.

For instance, the college class president Wang Ning, although just a minor shareholder, had certain say as the technical leader.

And then there was the seed round investor, the second-generation rich classmate Hou Shaoyuan, who certainly had designs on School Beauty Shen.

Now that they had other options, they would definitely be opposed to him.

Shen Yuyan bit her lip and said earnestly, “Anyway, it’s my fault, and I’m very sorry for disappointing you.”

As one of Youjie Housekeeping’s co-founders, she could actually have persuaded Zhang Tianqi to support her and pull in Tang Song as an investor.

However, for the stability of the team and the promising future promised by Win-win Technology, she ultimately gave up on this opportunity.

Tang Song smiled and shook his head, firm in his tone, “It’s okay, investment itself is for the purpose of appreciating in value along with the company’s growth and profit. If the founding team of the invested company has objections, that’s also a huge operational risk. Even if you let me invest, I would refuse.”

[The second phase growth plan task] [③ Capital Nouveau Riche] was designed to enhance himself and to complete 3 effective venture investments externally.

Tang Song had previously attended an investment seminar where he saw Youjie Housekeeping’s roadshow, and after verifying the information, decided to invest.

He also wanted to use this project to hone his personal skills.

Since it was his first time managing an investment himself, he hoped to achieve a certain return on this investment and gain continuous positive feedback.

This would also give him more confidence in himself and the ability to improve.

If the founding team of Youjie Housekeeping didn’t welcome him, why bother with the trouble?

Even for the sake of Xu Qing and Shen Yuyan, his close friends, there was no need to lower his stance.

Hearing his words, Shen Yuyan breathed a sigh of relief, but for some reason felt a sense of gain and loss.

Perhaps it was because the Tang Song before her exuded confidence, composure, and sincerity, which was truly touching.

If she had such a partner, it would have been a very happy thing.

Pinching her thigh, she cleared the stray thoughts from her mind and sat up straight.

What had happened had happened, and the next thing for her to do was to quickly complete the angel round for Youjie Housekeeping.

Only with funds in place could they expand rapidly and widen their business footprint.

To increase the company’s valuation, and then consider exiting when the opportunity was right.

“Actually, the housekeeping field is limited in potential. I chose it initially because Zhang Tianqi had an existing business on hand. If you’re interested in investing, I can introduce a very promising project to you.”

“Oh? Tell me,” Tang Song sat up straight, looking at her curiously.

Shen Yuyan grabbed Xu Qing’s arm and whispered, “The micro short drama we just discussed. A shareholder and the general manager of the company is my college classmate, and Qingqing has decided to jump ship to this company. She’s currently handling the resignation transition.”

Feeling the grip on her arm, Xu Qing “mmm-ed” and quickly pulled out a business card from her pocket, passing it over, “He’s also our classmate from the same year, a really nice guy.”
