Chapter 33: Chapter 32: Programmer friend, I really didn’t brush you off! Chapter 33: Chapter 32: Programmer friend, I really didn’t brush you off! April 19, 2023, Wednesday, sunny turning to cloudy, 18~27°C.

“Ding-a-ling—— Ding-a-ling——”

The alarm clock kept ringing incessantly.

Zhao Yaqian, groggy, stretched out her hand, fumbling beside her pillow for a while, finally grabbing her cellphone.

Through the window, the dim dawn was just beginning to brighten, and the room was still somewhat dark.

The faint glow from the cellphone screen illuminated her sharply defined features.

She carelessly pressed the stop button, her eyes still half-closed as if she were still immersed in the dream she had been having.

Soon after, soft snores could be heard.

The morning sunshine gradually rose, and the room became brighter and brighter.

“Thump thump thump——” A knocking sound came from the door.

After waiting for a while without hearing any movement, He Liting pushed the door open and saw Zhao Yaqian sound asleep.

Half sprawled over the blanket, her dark hair was spread out, revealing a long, snow-white and plump leg.

He Liting raised her eyebrows in surprise and said, “Qianqian, why haven’t you gotten up yet? I thought you had finished packing. Aren’t you supposed to go on a road trip with that programmer friend today?”

“Oh?” Zhao Yaqian rolled over, lifted her head, and with bleary eyes said, “What?”

“The road trip! You forgot?”

Zhao Yaqian blinked her large eyes and glanced at the time.

[8:04]

“Ahhhhh!”

Zhao Yaqian instantly woke up, jumped out of bed onto the floor barefoot, and ran her hands through her messy hair.

“I only have 26 minutes left; there’s no way I can pack in time, what do I do!? What do I do!?”

He Liting spoke irritably, “You really do take it easy. You only arranged to meet last night, saying he’d pick you up down at the entrance at 8:30 this morning, and look at you, sleeping until now.”

“I… I… I was just too tired,” Zhao Yaqian said weakly.

She has always had a problem with oversleeping, and since the hair salon where she worked opened late, she had become accustomed to sleeping in until eight or nine o’clock.

“Not even 10 hours of sleep is enough for you, I really can’t understand it.”

“No, I’ve got to hurry and do my washing and makeup. Ting, help me with my hair!”

He Liting pursed her lips, shaking her head and saying, “I have to go to work, and if I’m late, there goes my perfect attendance.”

Zhao Yaqian pounced on her, hugging her tightly, rubbing her cheek against He Liting’s head, “Just 10 minutes! You’ll only be 10 minutes late, please Sister Ting, I’m begging you.”

“He’s just an ordinary friend, right? Anyway, you’re not planning to have anything happen with him, so why not just get by casually?”

Zhao Yaqian’s eyebrows knit together, pleading, “Going out with a guy, doing makeup and dressing up is the basic respect. Sister Ting, wait for my salary, I’ll definitely buy you a 9-color eyeshadow palette.”

He Liting gave an exasperated sigh, “Go brush your teeth and wash your face quickly!”

“Mhm, mhm, mhm!” Zhao Yaqian nodded repeatedly, frantically slipping on her slippers and dashing into the bathroom with her long legs.

Fortunately, she had already taken a shower last night, so now all she needed was a simple wash-up.

Sitting down at the vanity, Zhao Yaqian laid out her makeup, while He Liting took the straightening iron and curling wand, and both began working in tandem.

A full makeup session wouldn’t be possible anymore; they had to go for the lazy version of the five-step daily makeup routine!

Before starting makeup, spray facial mist three times for a basic skin hydration, then put on a lip mask.

After applying sunscreen, she used primer instead of foundation to reduce makeup thickness and even out her skin tone since her skin was already in good condition, thin layer was all it took.

She covered imperfections with a concealer, and to avoid harshness, set it with a skin tone powder.

For eyebrows, she used a three-shade brow powder, beginning with the darkest shade from the densest part of the brow and filled towards the end to tidy up, then used the lighter shade to contour the nose.

For eye makeup, she used a single shade of eyeshadow, a grayish contouring hue, as there was no time for multicolor complexity. She chose a middle shade of blush, sweeping from the cheekbones towards the nose to instantly improve complexion.

Last was the reddish milk-tea-colored matte lip glaze, thinly applied, blended, and deepened to give her lips a plump appearance.

10 minutes, that’s all it took!

Zhao Yaqian’s face now wore a complete no-makeup look.

Coupled with her naturally fair and tender skin, she looked refined and pretty.

He Liting put down the curling wand and gave Zhao Yaqian’s head a firm pat, “I’m catching the 8:26 bus, off I go! Look at the mess in your room, remember to tidy it up when you have time.”

“Mm-hmm! Be careful on the road!” Zhao Yaqian casually replied and checked the time.

[8:20]

Just 10 minutes left.

She opened the wardrobe and began throwing out the clothes she had prepared one by one.

Underwear, white ankle socks, denim mini skirt, apricot-colored base shirt, pink sun-proof jacket.

Although all were inexpensive clothes, they looked exceptionally beautiful and sexy on her.

It gave off a vibe of cool sweetness typical of spring.

Lastly, she slipped on some light-colored sneakers.

Standing in front of the living room mirror, Zhao Yaqian twirled around, tousling her soft long hair, batting her big eyes, completely intoxicated by her own beauty.

Indeed, with just a little effort, I’ve already reached the limit for this segment.

My programmer friend, Beauty Zhao really didn’t take you lightly! It was truly a matter of necessity!

“Dingdong dingdong—” Her phone’s ringtone suddenly chimed.

Her spirits lifted, Zhao Yaqian hurriedly answered the call.

“Hello, Brother Song, mm-hmm, I’m all ready, just waiting for your call! I’m coming downstairs now!”

“Bang!” A loud door closing sound.

“Tap tap tap—” Rapid footsteps followed.

Pushing open the building’s main door, the 8:30 a.m. sunlight shone clear and bright.

A white Wuling Hongguang was parked outside, looking clean and fresh.

Tang Song stood by the front of the car, smiling and waving at her.

Following Yaoling’s advice, he sincerely complimented, “Teacher Zhao, your eye makeup today is so intricately done, your lipstick shade also really suits today’s outfit, and the waves in your hair look so textured, it’s obvious you’ve prepared thoughtfully.”

Zhao Yaqian’s facial expression stiffened, and with an embarrassed blush, she averted her gaze, “Thank you, I got up very early and spent a long time on my makeup.”

Seeing her shy demeanor, Tang Song mentally gave Yaoling a thumbs-up. She truly was an expert!

“Let’s go, Teacher Zhao, let’s start our self-driving tour today.” Tang Song patted his beloved car.

Zhao Yaqian approached the car and curiously inspected it, “Is this… a Wuling Hongguang? It looks like it can hold a lot.”

Tang Song smiled and said, “Wuling Hongguang S, just bought it the other day. Teacher Zhao, if you need to transport equipment for your beauty salon, just let me know, and I guarantee it’ll all fit in one trip.”

“You bought the car?” Zhao Yaqian asked with surprise.

“Of course, I transferred the title just last Monday.”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Yaqian’s eyes lit up, and she excitedly circled the car, “This sticker is so cute, and the car looks great, spot on. I saw the Wuling Hongguang mini EV on TikTok before, and I’ve been thinking of buying one when I make some money.”

Tang Song opened the passenger door and winked, “We should be on our way, get in and see how it feels.”

“Right away!” Zhao Yaqian said with a cheerful smile and bent down to sit inside.

Between her denim mini skirt and ankle socks, her snow-white thighs glistened.

Her slender waist and full bust created perfect curves.

Tang Song’s gaze swept over her outfit, and he felt a tickle in his nose.

The clothes really suited her, although he wondered about the layers underneath.

Once both were seated, Zhao Yaqian touched here, looked there, her eyes filled with surprise, “The inside of the car is really beautiful, and it’s comfortable to sit in too. Brother Song, did you modify this?”

“It’s a second-hand car; the previous owner was a girl who made the modifications.”

“That’s a real bargain! It’s like buying a second-hand house with premium decoration!” Zhao Yaqian may not have known much about cars, but she felt that the interior of this Wuling was beautiful.

“We’ll head to Hanbi Garden first this morning, it’s about 50 minutes away.” Tang Song pointed at the storage box next to the passenger seat, “Inside, there are some snacks I’ve prepared for you, and there are drinks in the storage compartment on your right, should be enough for the trip.”

Her eyes gleaming, Zhao Yaqian eagerly opened the storage box.

“Wow!”

“Popcorn, crispy potato chips, cookie biscuits, King’s ham sticks!”

“And there’s my favorite Qingning juice!”

“Brother Song, you are my hero!”
