Chapter 14: Chapter 14 My Beautician Friend Chapter 14: Chapter 14 My Beautician Friend April 9, 2023, Sunday, sunny, 16~26℃.

Tang Song, panting heavily, stopped and took a rest before taking out his phone from the armband.

Checked the exercise log.

The entire distance was 5 kilometers with an average pace of 6’34″.

It had been a week since he started working out; he had gotten through the initial adaptation phase, and his physical fitness had noticeably improved.

Opened the [Personal Information] panel.

[Player: Tang Song (25′)]

…

On an empty stomach, his weight went down by another 1kg, and Constitution increased by a point; everything was getting better and better.

Then, Tang Song’s eyes lit up.

His charm value had increased by 1 point at some unnoticeable time!

You should know, he who hadn’t styled his hair and was carrying a cool pot-lid haircut came with a [Charm -1 buff].

Which means if he changed to a suitable hairstyle, his charm value might very well reach 27 points!

Only 3 points away from unlocking the first phase reward and starting the plan task!

It must have been the series of events that happened recently, especially getting over the hurdle posed by Xie Shuyu and the self-reflection following the news about Secretary Jin, that elevated his mentality and mood.

The charm value naturally increased by 1 point.

After doing several stretching exercises downstairs, Tang Song returned to his rental apartment with an excited mood.

While eating breakfast, he opened Little Red Book to check out the results.

In just one night’s time, he gained more than 600 unread messages.

Last night’s post attracted quite a bit of attention.

The number of fans shot up straight to 276.

After quickly finishing the milk, Tang Song started to earnestly reply to netizens and collect suggestions.

Tang Song: “Thanks for the suggestion, my skin is indeed in terrible condition, but I have started to seriously learn and am working on improving it.”

Tang Song: “It might be because I often bow my head to play with my phone and look at the computer, which leads to an unconscious forward lean of my neck. Thanks for the tip, I will look into this training method!”

Tang Song: “I plan to change my hairstyle to the American Forward Spike, wait for my update tonight to see the effects!”

…

Time unknowingly reached past 9 a.m.

“Buzz buzz buzz—” His phone vibrated, displaying a WeChat message.

[Zhao Yaqian: “Good morning, brother! I hope I didn’t disturb your rest. Your membership card was already processed yesterday afternoon, remember to pick it up when you’re free.”]

Thinking of 180cm-tall “wineglass legs” and the ongoing VAM Agreement, Tang Song felt a surge of excitement.

He quickly replied: “Alright, thanks for the trouble, Qianqian. I’ll come over to collect it around 2 pm today, and while I’m at it, please give me a skincare treatment (#delighted).”

[Zhao Yaqian: “Okay, brother! There are 3 complimentary basic facial treatments and one VIP treatment included in your card, just come and find me when you arrive!”]

They chatted briefly.

Tang Song exited the chat screen and checked the time, then opened the Dianping app to look for a reliable barbershop.

After a lot of picking and choosing, he finally settled on a high-end chain salon located 5 kilometers away.

Perhaps due to the price, the salon wasn’t very crowded.

The young barber, Tony, who was tasked with cutting his hair, was under 30, not very talkative, a bit aloof, but quite handsome.

Learning from previous lessons, Tang Song took out the hairstyle picture that the netizen “Minmin” had sent, and confirmed repeatedly with the barber about the effect and whether it went with him.

Barber Tony took a few quick glances, then pinched his hair and showed an OK gesture to the reflection in the mirror: “Absolutely no problem.”

Feeling assured by the barber’s confident appearance, Tang Song took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

“Swish swish swish—” The clipper created an American-fade arc on both sides.

“Clip clip clip—” The scissors moved continuously, cutting the top to create a layered effect.

Twenty minutes later.

Tony dried his hair again and began instructing him on how to style it.

Through the mirror, Tang Song watched Tony’s movements while committing each step to memory.

The top hair was teased at the roots with his fingers to create a natural volume, the tips lifted upwards to form the texture of a forward spike.

The side bangs were raised to add a sense of dimension to the face contour.

The back of the head was teased lightly to make the hair look more three-dimensional and full.

“OK, that’s it. Your hair quality isn’t great, so to achieve the desired look, it’s best to use a matte texture molding clay,” Tony advised in conclusion.

Tang Song, looking at himself in the mirror, experienced once more the importance of a good haircut.

The man who had lost 9 pounds, although still heavy in the face, appeared fresh and stylish with this voluminous hairstyle, taking his appearance up a notch.

Opened the system interface.

[Charm: 27]

nice!

Excitement shone in Tang Song’s eyes, and he couldn’t stop thanking barber Tony, praising his excellent skills.

This made the usually cool Tony blush, reflecting whether his own attitude had been warm enough.

…

1:50 p.m.

As Tang Song approached Yiz Beauty Salon, he quickly spotted Zhao Yaqian standing at the door.

Black blazer, white shirt, flat shoes.

Still dressed in that proper uniform.

Because of her height, she was very noticeable standing there.

Her pretty face wore a practiced smile, and her graceful figure attracted the stares of many passersby.

Probably this was also a tactic the store used to attract customers.

Seeing Tang Song coming her way, Zhao Yaqian hurried forward to greet him, “Brother, good afternoon, welcome to Yiz Beauty Salon.”

“Good afternoon, Qianqian,” Tang Song greeted with a smile.

“This is your membership card, there’s a balance of 2000 yuan,” Zhao Yaqian took out a golden card from her pocket and handed it over, “Plus there’s a product worth 998 yuan as a gift for you, let me take you to the product area to choose.”
