Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4325  To Change Oneself

Myria and the others left.

However, Evelynn quickly came back to her soul body.

”So, did you manage to conquer Empress Hexena Xylusc?”

”Wha-”

Davis was speechless, ”Did you put her up to that?”

”So something did happen.” Evelynnʼs expression turned intrigued, ”I didnʼt put her up to anything. Before I left, I just said: follow what you want instead of hiding your desires. After all, you finally have a life again. What use is suppressing desires again?”

”…”

Davis blinked. There was a fine line between manipulating and supporting a personʼs Will regardless of oneʼs own intentions.

He couldnʼt help but be impressed by his first wife. She was finally learning from him.

So he explained what had happened, minus his thing poking at Katherineʼs face. That wasnʼt something that needed to be said. He wanted it erased.

Evelynn wasnʼt offended at all. She expected this to happen.

She giggled, ”Itʼs just like you act tough in front of my twin. Still, no matter what you decide, know that Iʼm with you. I saw Hexenaʼs life, and I know she is right for us. She doesnʼt have a single crush in her life, but I suppose itʼs possible that it is you now since she had a look at my memories. The possibility is high.”

”…” Davis didnʼt think that way but knew she was certainly interested.

He also wanted to say that Evelynn should stop tempting him, but he really was tempted.

”Iʼll consider it.” He nodded indifferently, acting cool.

”…” Evelynn looked at him inquisitively, ”Are you fine? I heard you havenʼt made love with Aila, and she has gone to the secret realm. You also havenʼt taken nearly any women in the past two years. By far, Yilla is really the last woman from outside you accepted if we donʼt consider Aila since she hasnʼt consummated yet.”

”…”

Davis went speechless. Why did everyone think something was wrong with him if he wasnʼt picking women left and right?

”Yeah, Iʼm fine. Iʼm just busy with cultivation and have to look after my beauties first. The rest can come later.”

Davis provided his reason. He really canʼt think of anything else.

”In that case, itʼs good.” Evelynn nodded, ”Just donʼt burst and visit a brothel or chase bad skirts. Weʼre here for you.”

”Why would I go there when I have you all?”

”You donʼt have to think that way. I understand that you will have the world one day. No, weʼre hoping you will have the world, so thirty women surely wouldnʼt be enough for you and sometimes, you canʼt be bothered with entertaining us all, so you will eventually look towards those places. Even Mingzhi told me that could happen despite your preferences.”

Evelynn bit her lips, ”Iʼm the big sister, so I need to take care of my sisters, but Iʼm your first wife primarily, so your happiness comes foremost. Donʼt hesitate to relay your needs to me. I may berate you, but I will not ignore you. Iʼm always here for you…”

”Evelynn…”

Davisʼs heart shook. It moved him to see that she had put so much thought into him.

He could only imagine how he was living in their heads while he made them wait, causing him to pull her closer and hug her.

Evelynn smiled and caressed his head, her soft hands brushing through his blond hair.

”Your words alone are enough for me to be satisfied. Donʼt worry about me so much. Itʼs not good for your health.”

He raised his head and smiled at her, causing Evelynn to rest her head on his forehead.

”I will stick by your side like a nightmare even if you want to run away.”

The two of them laughed at each other.

”Take care then~” She let him go and turned around to leave.

”Wait, Empress Hexena Xylusc has evolved with Everlightʼs help. You may want to go see her and plan your cultivation path before you step into the Empyrean Stage.”

”…!?” Evelynn was shocked. That quick again?

She personally wanted to be there for the evolution but guessed she missed it.

”Will do.” Evelynn nodded before she frowned, ”But Iʼm not sure if I want to enter the Empyrean Stage first. I have the manual required to enter after I got it from the Xylusc Clanʼs Treasury, but I also want to go to the secret realm. It is a dilemma.”

”Alright, let me know when you have decided.”

”Mhm~”

Davis bid her farewell with a wave of his hand.

Evelynn also nodded and left.

She didnʼt go back to her main body but went to find Empress Hexena Xylusc. She could sense her aura from the distance when she focused. It was wild and untamed, full of bloodlust. It made her raise her brows.

She finally appeared and saw a giant city with arachnid-type architecture all over the place. The buildings were mainly black our purple in color, a city of nights. They were still in the initial stages, but the foundation seemed to be coming well.

In the skies, Empress Hexena Xylusc was commanding thousands of workers who appeared to be hired since they were from the city.

”Youʼre back~”

Evelynn appeared beside her, causing Empress Hexena Xylusc to react.

”Davis said you have evolved…”

”Yes, I became an Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid.”

Empress Hexena Xylusc proceeded to explain everything about her new species enthusiastically. One could see the pride in her tone, appearing extremely satisfied with the new evolution. She even explained the six hexes: Collapse hex, Sealing Hex, Poison Hex, Blood Hex, Banishment Hex and Purge Hex in detail.

”Iʼm ready whenever you want to take my blood essence and soul essence. Just say the word, and Iʼll be by your side.”

”Thank you…”

Evelynn felt heartened.

”Donʼt be. We are sworn sisters from here on out. We take care of each other, and hopefully, we can share the same man to keep our bond eternal.”

”…” Evelynn blinked.

Empress Hexena Xylusc looked around before she whispered, ”I decided to follow your words and pursue your husband. You wonʼt blame me, right?”

ʼHow cunning...ʼ Evelynn smiled as she thought.

Empress Hexena Xylusc confessed instead of acting ignorant like she didnʼt know. They both knew of their intentions and knew how they could act.

”I wonʼt. However, I certainly didnʼt expect you to be straightforward.”

”What are you saying?” Empress Hexena Xylusc blushed, ”Even if Iʼm not straightforward, Iʼm not a deceptive woman. If I see something I want, I will openly get it. You should know how obsessed a Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid is.”

”I know.”

”Thatʼs good.” Empress Hexena Xylusc nodded, ”For now, I failed, but I intend to try again later. Donʼt tell it to him and donʼt influence him. I want to enjoy the hunt.”

She licked her lips, causing Evelynn to be speechless.

”Ah- but first, I have to get my clan up. Talk to you later~”

Empress Hexena Xylusc flew away and continued to work on the new city.

Evelynn could sense that she was highly embarrassed. In her embarrassment, she even forgot to ask about the poison treasure, or perhaps she understood it was a sensitive topic and didnʼt pry further.

Regardless, Evelynn liked Empress Hexena Xylusc. She welcomed her into the family with open arms. However, there was one thing she didnʼt like.

”If you truly want him, then you should make the hex arachnid clan secondary in your heart. Otherwise, I donʼt approve.”

”…”

Empress Hexena Xylusc didnʼt turn to look back but she certainly did stop working.

Evelynn knew it wouldnʼt be easy for Empress Hexena Xylusc to do that since she cared about her clan her whole life and died for it. In fact, an Emperor-Tier Beast was the hope of the race and they cared about the race the foremost.

This thinking was innate, especially for those who grew up in a beast clan.

Nadia and Everlight were different. They werenʼt Emperor-Tier in the beginning, so their thoughts about their clans werenʼt nurtured deeply from the time they were little. They could get out of it easily.

On the other hand, it was different for Empress Hexena Xylusc. To put the clan second was no different than changing a huge aspect of herself!

Evelynn didnʼt say any more and left, leaving behind an empress who looked at the skies with a forlorn and wry expression on her face.
