Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4313 Pick Your Poison

Davis handed the Six-Headed Hydraʼs soul back to Myria.

She wisped her soul force out and let the Six-Headed Hydraʼs soul float while three hundred and sixty tiny needles kept him in a pincushion hold, making him scream out in pain.

He arrived before Empress Hexena Xylusc, taking a good look at her.

She was as beautiful as the day he last saw her, elegant and refined. She was clad in a dark purple robe, and her hair was tied up in a bun while the rest freely fell. The shape of her eyes was just like Evelynnʼs sexy eyes.

Empress Hexena Xylusc also stared at him, her cheeks taking on a rosy hue as she remembered talking like she was a wise person in front of him, full of knowledge and power, but within a few years, he had already grown into a powerful cultivator who could rule the Lower Realms.

In fact, he had conquered two realms with his forces.

There was no need to say his achievements in order for her to realize that she had fallen way behind.

ʼWell... I was dead... ʼShe thought.

”Empress Hexena Xylusc, may your heart not be consumed by the darkness of your past, for it is through remembering that we find solace. Your struggles are a testament to your unbreakable spirit. May it shape you into an even more radiant being”

Davis offered his condolences with a mysterious air as he cupped his hands.

Evelynn and Myria nearly blinked. This was way more formal and respectful than they expected. They expected that he would try to flirt with her since she looked just like Evelynn.

Surprisingly, he didnʼt seem mesmerized.

”Is- is that so?” Empress Hexena Xylusc blinked, feeling embarrassed since she did indeed let her Heart Demon take over once. But she nodded.

”I donʼt see myself as evil or insane anymore since I was able to die a peaceful death and conquer my Heart Demon thanks to Evelynn. Now that she managed to subdue the mastermind and execute the higher-ups of the hateful Pyraxis Ember Arachnid Clan, I am extremely proud and grateful to have such an inheritor.”

”Thatʼs great.” Davis nodded, ”Then just consider my words as empty air. Even I wonʼt adhere to it, wreaking havoc until the enemy experiences the same or even more pain than me and my people.”

”Hehe-” Empress Hexena Xylusc giggled, ”Thatʼs so like you. Back then, I remember you obsessively protecting Evelynn from me. I may have endured even more hardship from you than the others.”

”...” Davis went speechless.

That was because her Heart Demon was around at that time.

Nonetheless, he nodded.

”Have you decided what to do with that hydra?”

”Naturally, I will make him suffer for years to come.”

Empress Hexena Xyluscʼs expression turned cold. She stared at the soul. The other party couldnʼt see him since his senses were sealed.

”Any chance that if I want to let this hydra go or hand him over to the authorities, you will be against it?”

Empress Hexena Xyluscʼs expression turned into one of loss. She hesitated.

”I will be against it... but if itʼs your request, then I have no choice but to accept it. No- my eternal debt towards Evelynn demands that I listen to your words.”

”...”

Davis went silent. Evelynn did tell him that she revived Empress Hexena Xylusc using her soul essence.

However, she left out the part where the two Ancestors attacked her, so he didnʼt know about that. She didnʼt feel like talking about it now since dealing with the poison treasure was more important.

”I see”

Davis nodded and then went back to the hydra.

”What is the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxyʼs Ruler like? Is he fair? Deceptive? Smart? Cunning?”

The Six-Headed Hydra was silent for a moment, ”Forgive me. I have no idea. My lifetime couldnʼt be compared to someone who lived for more than a hundred billion years. In my time, the Greater Realmʼs Realm Master never stepped out, and information about his supremacy was not available to the public. Iʼm just a lowly slave.”

””

Davis couldnʼt find any lies in that answer, but he wanted to slap him as this wasnʼt the answer he wanted to hear.

Depending on who the ruler was and what he was like, his decision could change. After all, if the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxyʼs Ruler was a brute, he would simply storm out of the galaxy and confront the Celestial Transcendent, demanding that he give back their treasure. That would force him to give the treasure, which would make hiding the treasure pointless.

He would stand to gain more by revealing first and holding the initiative.

Nonetheless, he was off to the next question.

”Is there any other forged treasure like this one?”

”As far as I am aware, no. This is the only forged treasure that is derived from the Hell Poison Gem. The likes of me could never even witness its magnificence even from afar but my Young Master was benevolent and trusting enough to give it to me for safeguarding. It was forged by a human powerhouse seven million years ago. That person does not belong to the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy.”

”Oh? There are humans in other galaxies?”

”Very few. Theyʼre either powerful, subservient, or livestock.”

”...” Davis could only wonder how many ʼvery fewʼ meant.

That could be trillions at the minimum if the other galaxies are included. It could be. more if they are treated as livestock the most.

After all, even the Scorchblaze Infernal Hydragon treated humans like livestock in its territory while the realm they were in was ruled by an actual human where human powers were plenty. Less needed to be said about galaxies where human powers would be scarce.

Regardless, if there is only one of these treasures, he could be sure that the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy would surely make a big problem out of this matter. There was no way they would be giving it up. From what he heard, it hadnʼt even been activated partially yet.

There was another level to this treasure that needed six more ingredients at the Grand Ancestral Beast Rank. It wasnʼt the normal variety but still King-Tier, so one could imagine the difficulty of obtaining that kind of ingredients. They might not even exist.

”Lastly, is the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy currently waging war with the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy?”

The Six-Headed Hydra let out an audible gulp even though he didnʼt have a throat.

”Yes,”

Davis couldnʼt help but smile.

If the war wasnʼt waged but was going to be waged, then the Celestial Transcendent would be proactive in trying to obtain the treasure from him.

If the war was already happening and the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy offered peace in exchange for the poisonous treasure, then the Celestial Transcendent would have no choice but to drink a lot of conditions from him if he wanted the treasure, ultimately giving him more benefits.

”To me, reputation isnʼt important. I learned that people will fear what they canʼt match up to. They will bow their heads even if they donʼt want to. I remained in the sunny skies, waiting the Heavenʼs Warriors would challenge me again, but none came. Everyone was scared shitless because they feared my power. My reputation for being reasonable also has its charm, but it is merely a plus. Ultimately, this is no different than picking your poison.”

Davis turned to look at Evelynn, his gaze sharp, ”Weʼre keeping the treasure. If someone wants it, then let them offer valuables or benefits greater than the treasure. Who knows? It might come in handy a lot for the time being when we explore the Nether Dimension. Those shitheads are resistant to poison a lot, so letʼs see if they could endure this so-called hell poison.”

He grinned, causing Evelynn and Myria to smirk.

They still hadnʼt forgotten that Nether Devil had tried to eat them and nearly caused Nadia to die along with her three children.
