Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3093 Weight Of Emotions

ʼThat canʼt be…ʼ

Davis had heard sword cultivators were very prideful beings who wouldnʼt resort to shameful actions, and just as he thought, the father opened his mouth.

”Iʼve come to you to ask you a favor in return for a favor.”

”What favor?” Davis asked.

”Before that, I had to be sure of your ability, and you didnʼt fail me. Instead, you even surpassed my expectations.”

Cien Bladeheart nodded satisfactorily before he continued, ”You see, my son, Niel Bladeheart, is quite the rebel, not wanting to listen to our words as he ends up following his own path, which is good as long as he surpasses us in the end but at the same time, that child doesnʼt know what the real cultivation world is.”

”He has only been in territories where itʼs relatively safe, like our Bladeheart Family and the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs Domain. Last time, I heard that you were also there in the Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley, so he managed to survive, but this time, where all the geniuses converged, it wonʼt go as he pleases, especially when he refuses to take the family heirloom sword with him.”

”Indeed.” Cynthia Bladeheart continued, her brows squinting into one of worry.

”For better or worse, you have been his goal for a while now. He wants to surpass you, but whether that happens or not is none of my concern. All I want is for him to be safe, but because of his new aspirations, which is you, he abandoned all nets of safety, wanting to experience life and death without any restraints.”

”You want me to protect him during our exploration of the secret realm?” Davis got to the point as he gestured, causing Cien Bladeheart to heave a breath.

”Indeed. Itʼs easy for one to die in a secret realm, and his elder brother is no different. We lost him in a secret realm, so we donʼt need a repeat of that tragedy this time. Therefore, even if we had to take the help of an Anarchic Divergent and endanger ourselves, we would take it.”

”In exchange… you will be able to call upon us a single time to fulfill whatever you need, whether it be getting rid of your enemies or standing guard-”

”Deal! Let me give you my first wifeʼs messaging talisman since I wonʼt be here…”

”…”

Davis hurriedly searched in his spatial ring and threw them a messaging talisman.

Cien Bladeheart could only catch it and look a bit stumped.

Excluding the quickness of his ability to accept the situation of being faced with overwhelming opponents, did this man have no guard against threats?

”Are you not afraid? Heʼs my son. I believe he will surpass you despite your achievements.”

”Aha~ Iʼm not afraid, and I welcome the challenge as long as itʼs a challenge because Iʼm not aiming to be the universeʼs strongest. Iʼm aiming to live a long life with my wives and children, expecting a day where I wouldnʼt need to resort to slaughter to have my peaceful life.”

Davis smirked, appearing happy as he didnʼt expect to have an additional card to protect his people before he left for someplace, only the heavens knew where.

If all it took was for him to protect Niel Bladeheart during an expedition, then he would do it for free based on the fact that they were fellow disciples and no enmity between them, much less when thereʼs a delicious deal of having two Peak Immortal Emperors under his beck and call for a single time.

”Sigh, so be it. The deal has been made.”

Cien Bladeheart shook his head with a light smile before his expression turned solemn.

”However, you should never, not even speak a single word about this to my son. Otherwise, he would be disheartened that we didnʼt believe him when all we want is to be alive so improvements can be made the next day. As long as there is life, there will be improvements later, but not when thereʼs none. Iʼm sure the person called Emperor of Death could understand what I mean.”

”Of course. Life is only valuable when it is there. If itʼs lost and a long time passes, then nothing could be done. For the same reason, even if I have to become a sacrificial demon, I will if it means my people get to live.”

”…”

Cien Bladeheart couldnʼt tell what it meant other than there was another meaning behind his sentence, but nevertheless, he nodded, and both he and his wife cupped their hands before they disappeared, not even leaving behind a strand of their hair as they vanished before his eyes.

It was only later that Davis checked the walls and confirmed these two traversed across a tiny hole in the wall, imperceptible unless he filled his entire soul sense within the room and made it expand to get across the sword pressure in this tiny hole that essentially formed a wall-like structure of its own.

ʼTruly remarkable…ʼ

Coming out of his reverie, Davis was once again full of amazement when he thought about Niel Bladeheartʼs parents.

They were too powerful, perhaps on par with the Guardians themselves or slightly weaker together.

Either way, he was glad he could have their help when needed.

After all, he could not be sure if Saintess Lunaria would keep to her promise to him or even accidentally forget about it in her quest to quench her wild side of wanting to research Everlight for comprehension of Life laws.

Nonetheless, thinking about Niel Bladeheartʼs parents also made him worried about his own.

Were they safe and sound? Were they still worrying heavily over his death, or didnʼt even notice?

He hoped that they didnʼt notice, for they could live peacefully for some time without any headaches, not knowing his father had already ascended and endured a world of hurt before he was saved because of his action to grasp onto the opportunity given to him by Niel Bladeheartʼs parents.

Shaking his head, he descended to the group, wanting to set out to gain more treasures!
