Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3061 Overseeing

Within a few minutes, Fairy Thunderblaze returned.

Her sleeves fluttered as she came to a stop in front of Davis and the others with Eiren in tow.

”…”

Many couldnʼt help but pity him as he appeared scorched beyond recognition. His face was practically missing, with his lips and nose burned off, while his body was also burned with many lacerations appearing like natureʼs lightning hit him.

”A bit troublesome, but still, I was able to capture him with the fear you instilled in him.”

Fairy Thunderblazeʼs amused voice echoed, ”Iʼm grateful for your help.”

”Is that so?” Davis sounded out, ”Then give me his loot.”

”Of course. I only need information.”

”…”

Davisʼs gaze flickered as he captured the spatial ring thrown to him. He expected her to fight for the loot but didnʼt expect that she would not put claim now that she hunted Eiren on her own. He had seen how strong she was, so naturally, he knew she didnʼt need his help.

”Now, if the Emperor of Death would be so kind enough to heal him so I can practice my soulscouring techniques on these so-called Transcendents...”

Fairy Thunderblaze asked with a pleasant voice, causing Davis to look at her with annoyance as he remembered that he owed this woman for saving him using that crimson-robed man whose name was Bloodcloud.

He guessed that she couldnʼt have brought Bloodcloud here, causing her to be vulnerable but witnessing her show of force just now, he was convinced that she couldnʼt be beaten by him, at least not with his Level Seven Immortal King Stage Cultivation.

ʼEvidently, the annihilative lightning I gave her made her stronger than I thought…ʼ

Inwardly sighing, he opened his mouth, ”Only thrice…”

”Many thanks, Emperor of Death.”

Fairy Thunderblaze said but unceremoniously threw Eiren toward Davis.

Davis didnʼt go as far as to heal Eirenʼs battered and burned body but only healed his soul.

”No! Let me go…!”

After healing his soul essence back, he sent him back to her, causing Eiren to piss his pants as he cried out in fear.

”…”

Perhaps, it was because he had been kicked there before his tract was damaged, causing him to pee, but Davis could see Fairy Thunderblazeʼs expression change even if her veil was blocking her facial expression from being viewed. It seemed like she was greatly disgusted to even touch Eirenʼs head now as she slowly backed off.

She raised her hand, appearing as though she was about to give him a death blow.

However, Fairy Thunderblaze didnʼt kill him. Instead, a hand made out of soul force stretched out from her palm before it caught Eirenʼs head.

”Oh…?”

Davis saw this maneuver, and he couldnʼt help but admit that her control of soul force was excellent as not many would dare to try stretching out their soul force connected to their soul essence to soulscour. After all, their soul would be vulnerable during this time.

Regardless, he saw her succeed in soulscouring again before she sent him flying toward him.

Eirenʼs body twitched heavily, and his eye sockets seemed to have burst from the forceful plundering of his memories. He smiled ridiculously, a sign that he had gone insane. However, his body remained motionless, paralyzed in fear.

The air was too cold for him even though he was on a fire-attributed crimson surface.

After two more times, Eirenʼs soul was relatively better, on the brink of death, than ending up a retard, but still, he was in a state where his soul could collapse at any time.I think you should take a look at

”I see.”

Fairy Thunderblaze uttered, ”I think I know where we should go next. The question is— are you willing?”

”…”

Davis stared at her. Of course, he knew where they should go next as the location concerned the fate of the alchemists and forgemasters who had gathered in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, the heart of the realm where the core existed.

Right now, they were on the southeastern side of the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, and since it was as huge as the First Haven World, they knew it would take days to traverse at their full speed.

However, was it really that easy when Feral Beasts were all over the place?

Since he came to know that this was a lastly Feral Beast breeding ground before this maddening event, he understood that it wouldnʼt be safe even for him.

In truth, the Crimson Pathflame Lower Realmʼs disciples had just escaped from a High-Level Immortal Emperor Feral Beast two days ago. Therefore, Davis knew not to go anywhere near it as it was just two hundred thousand kilometers to the west of their location.

”Weʼll eventually go there. After all, since we are here, we will take hold of our fates with our hands, but first, it seems that they have an interesting list as well.”

”Indeed.”

Davis chuckled before Fairy Thunderblaze lightly smiled, knowing what he was talking about.

Although she didnʼt have this list, she knew of its existence and its importance as it contained the innumerable treasures in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, their growth mostly unimpeded for the last few hundred thousand years, but not limited to herbs and heavenly resources as there were also treasures buried from Empyrean-level characters.

Clearly, this was a controlled environment, but with the restrictions imposed upon the realm, they imagined that no higher existence would interfere or hoped that would be the case as returning seemed unlikely, not because it would be camped but because all of them present wanted to grow stronger.

Although the risk shot up to the heavens, this place was indeed a treasure trove that they wouldnʼt get even if they prayed.

However, little did they know that the upper echelons of the Astral Pill Upper Realm and the Forgeheart Peak Upper Realm were shaken by the events that had taken place.

Above the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realmʼs space, a huge, gargantuan palace floated, overlooking the vast celestial body made up of land, desert, forests, mountains, and rivers. Inside that palace was a group of elders running about, their expressions solemn, some even anxious.

In front of the platform, there seemed to be many projections placed over the wall. However, these projections were thoroughly scrambled, and nothing could be made out of them.

”Overseer, I think we should report this matter to- ”

”Silence!”

A disciple who wore a fiery-orange robe had just spoken when the white-haired, fiery-orange-robed elder yelled out. The latter appeared solemn, his lips moving.

”Perhaps, itʼs the core acting up, disrupting our connection to the grand formation in mysterious ways we have no idea about. But thereʼs no need to worry. After all, this is a massive concoction made up by his eminence, so one or two disruptions shouldnʼt really matter.”

ʼBut this is the third time we have lost connection in a few months already…!ʼ

The disciple inwardly screamed. Although the last two outages were a few months ago, the reason still wasnʼt found. They chalked it up to the realm coreʼs fault. However, it seemed stable even after they checked after the connection was re-established, causing them to doubt it.

”In any case, if these lads donʼt succeed…”

”Overseer, what will happen…?” The disciple looked curious, but the next words made him almost slip.

”We will know when the time comes.”

The disciple gritted his teeth.

The youths who were all invited had already prepared for their deaths as this opportunity was too big for any power to let go of. Therefore even if these disciples died, their powers had already signed a contract that emphasized that they would understand.

The elder smiled, revealing a mouth full of golden teeth. However, turning to look at the scrambled projections, he couldnʼt help but feel a foreboding sense of unsurety as though nothing was in their hands anymore.
