Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2786 Big Sister Mingzhi?

Davis burst out laughing, calming himself down moments later as he smiled lightly, ”Being rejected is extremely refreshing...”

”Of course. You have too many options to deal with... I guess...” Mingzhi pouted, appearing willing yet not willing at the same time.

However, she looked at Davis fondly for not calling her mixed emotions out, always letting her win an argument.

Davis also stopped laughing as he focused his gaze on Vereina, causing her to completely hide behind Katherine before he chuckled and looked away, knowing that she felt slightly threatened even though he was only desensitizing himself to the confidence that every woman was after him in a romantic way.

However, it wasnʼt like he wasnʼt the slightest bit interested in Vereina. In fact, she was the woman whom he was most interested in terms of benefits since her soul physique contained insights into devouring souls into nurturing oneʼs soul. But still, he never approached a woman for the benefits she possessed, as that was something he drew a line on.

The only things he wanted from them were love, care, and loyalty. Of course, other things like status, bloodline, and prowess were good as well, but those were merely an addition in his mind as he was confident that he could make any woman stronger as long as they were willing to cultivate. Nonetheless, he didnʼt see the latter requirements as a priority.

”Darling, I also... feel that Iʼm slightly angry... but I think that can change with a single session of you know what I mean...”

Suddenly, Mingzhi uttered beside his ears in a seductive tone, causing Davis to clench his teeth as he turned to look at her.

This was probably the third or fourth time she was inviting him, causing him to raise his hand and hold her cheek.

”Mingzhi, I indeed sense that you are slightly angry when you say all these things as you feel constrained as though you do not know how to communicate it, afraid that youʼll offend me that youʼre mixing it with being humorous while complaining and supporting my wants at the same time, which is conflicting to you and your sisterʼs needs.”

”...” Mingzhi blinked, not expecting this kind of answer, but Davis continued, sighing lightly.

”It canʼt be helped. I suspect you failed to protect yourself from absorbing all of your sisterʼs emotions on a daily basis. Imagine feeling all their worries through Heart Intent and trying to devise a solution to my problems all by yourself? Although your Heart Intent is improving fast by constantly using this power, you are failing to keep those emotions in check, causing it to affect you in a bad way.”

”Of course, Iʼm way more than willing to engage in dual cultivation with you even if you didnʼt want it, but I suspect that this isnʼt a simple matter.”

”...” Mingzhiʼs expression went solemn as she appeared to contemplate his words as she felt like he was right on the spot.

A moment later, her eyes gleamed at him as though seeking his advice.

”How... How can I mitigate this? Do you not feel burdened by sensing and resonating with our chaotic emotions that are all over the place?”

”Haha~”

Davis chuckled at her as he couldnʼt help but feel that she explained it aptly.

”Wait... let me try to put those into words...” He tried to control his laughter as he felt like she had truly hit the point.

Indeed, Mingzhi was the most aware when it came to the emotions of his harem and wanting to learn Heart Intent, she did go around speaking with everyone when she had the chance, but the emotions she garnered from them were so confusing that it was like a circle, at one moment, wanting Davis, and at another moment, wanting him to remain free of bind and sometimes, even slightly angry at him for not coming to see them.

She didnʼt expose any of their emotions cause, as a lady, she also knew she experienced these things. Besides, she also knew this was fleeting, caused by their hormonal cycle.

On the other hand, Davisʼs emotions were always one thing or another. He was either worried for all their safety or moving forward happily, always appearing interested to see the things he would encounter. There wasnʼt a mixed intent in one particular matter, unlike what she sensed from her sisters, where they wanted him to stay but also become stronger and do as he pleased, which was conflicting and confusing as hell for her even though she felt relatable.

”The way I endure all these mixed emotions is because I process them logically while you, on the other hand, take them into many hoops and clear so many hurdles to make sense of those emotions. After days of contemplation, I believe thatʼs why you were able to advise on a few things that I was not able to find despite being a level higher than you in Enigmatic Heart Laws...”

”You mean... my biological wiring as a woman is making me go through many hoops that make me see minor things that are actually significant...?”

”Indeed.”

”Then, arenʼt I disadvantaged because I would have a hard time keeping these emotions away from affecting me...?”

”Perhaps,” Davis wryly smiled at Mingzhiʼs eagerness to learn as she curiously asked him.

”But I think youʼre wrong when you say youʼre at a disadvantage because youʼre able to see things that I canʼt. The Enigmatic Heart Law is a Phyletic Law that is bestowed upon a race. Then donʼt you think that there are two complimenting and powerful sides to it?”

”The yin and yang of Heart Intent...” Mingzhiʼs gaze shook.

”I see... I see... so thatʼs how it is... I embrace all those emotions and process them from within, making me vulnerable while you keep them at bay and process them, disallowing those emotions to affect you as much as possible... mwah~”

She suddenly pecked his cheek, stood up, and left, flying away like a dark fairy as her lush black hair fluttered in the wind.

”I think I got some insights. See you later~”

”Haha.”

Davis laughed at her comprehension ability, which was off the charts, while he also felt that she was better as a big sister than Evelynn was- purely because of her ability to comprehend Heart Intent. However, he also felt that she would be less responsible compared to Evelynn as it was not Mingzhiʼs style to take care of anyone primarily, but she would be glad to help at any time possible.

”Hehe~ Sheʼs so cute in how she cares about all of our well-being. You better treat her with lots of love~”

”Will do.”

On the other hand, Fiora took him all to herself as she spoke for Mingzhi, appearing content as they watched the many battles take place, almost quickly coming to an end of the first battle segment as there were only a few powers who had yet to battle.
