Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 714: Ruyuʼs Comfort

This time, Ye Fei didnʼt make a big scene like he had in the afternoon. He quietly took care of Zheng Longʼs two lackeys and then instructed the staff to dispose of their bodies.

The staff here were all members of the Canghai Gang.

While they werenʼt exactly top-tier enforcers, they had seen their fair share of dead bodies.

Plus, they knew Ye Fei had a close relationship with their boss and the young lady of the gang, so they handled the matter discreetly.

Although Ye Feiʼs earlier display of telekinesis had been shocking, the dim lighting in the room had kept it from drawing too much attention.

Once that was done, Ye Fei hoisted Zheng Long, whom he had knocked out with a pressure point strike, and left the place.

Outside, Li Ruonan and the others were already waiting in the car. Seeing Ye Fei carrying a man out, they were all surprised. Song Ci couldnʼt help but ask, ”Master, who is he?”

Although the women were all close to him, Ye Fei didnʼt explain in detail. It wasnʼt that he didnʼt trust them—he just wasnʼt in the mood, and this matter involved his auntʼs privacy.

After telling them to wait, Ye Fei called some of the elite members of the Lingyun Society who had infiltrated the capital. He instructed them to take Zheng Long back to Wanghai overnight.

He could have had the Canghai Gang handle it, but Zheng Long was too important, and he trusted his people more.

While waiting for his men to arrive, Ye Fei suddenly said, ”Iʼm planning to return to Wanghai tomorrow. You should all come with me.”

The women knew Ye Fei must have his reasons, so they didnʼt press for details. Song Xuan held an important position in Wanghai, and with the Song familyʼs affairs mostly resolved, she would have returned anyway. Song Ci and Li Liya naturally followed him, but Li Ruonan and Jia Jingwen hesitated.

After exchanging a glance, Li Ruonan spoke first, ”Jingwen and I should stay for a bit. We canʼt just leave our sisters behind.”

”Yeah, once weʼve sorted things out here, weʼll come to Wanghai to find you,” Jia Jingwen added. With their impending separation, she didnʼt bother with secretive messages and spoke openly.

Ye Fei nodded in agreement. ”Thatʼs fine. Itʼs not too far. If I miss you, Iʼll just fly over. It wonʼt take long.”

With Ye Feiʼs approval, the matter was settled. After the Lingyun Society members took the unconscious Zheng Long away, Ye Fei returned to the Song family with Song Xuan and his two disciples. Li Ruonan and Jia Jingwen went back to their ”Pure Land” hotel.

”Old Master Song, Iʼve been a bit of a bother these past few days. Iʼm planning to leave tomorrow, so I wanted to say goodbye,” Ye Fei said straightforwardly when he saw Song Deguang back at the Song residence.

He didnʼt need to inform the old man, but since he was Song Xuanʼs father and the head of the Song family, and Ye Fei also needed to ask for someone, it was better to be polite.

Song Deguang was startled, thinking Ye Fei might be abandoning them. He quickly asked, ”Mr. Ye, have we done something to offend you?”

”Of course not, Old Master, youʼve misunderstood. I just have some matters to attend to in Wanghai,” Ye Fei said with a smile.

”But Song Ci wants her mother to come with us to Wanghai to take care of her and Renzong, so I thought Iʼd let you know.”

The old man breathed a sigh of relief. ”Of course, of course. Their siblings are both over there, so itʼs only right for their mother to join them.”

Securing Yan Ruyu without any trouble was a relief for Ye Fei, but the weight of his auntʼs situation still hung over him, leaving him in no mood for anything else. As a result, Song Xuan got a rare night off from Ye Feiʼs usual antics.

Early the next morning, Ye Fei bid farewell to the Song family and boarded a flight to Wanghai with Song Xuan, his two disciples, and Yan Ruyu, whom he had been most eager to bring along.

Once on the plane, Li Liya wanted to sit next to Ye Fei, but Song Ci pulled her to sit with her instead. Song Xuan had already taken a seat next to an elderly lady, leaving Yan Ruyu no choice but to sit beside Ye Fei.

The two had always been drawn to each other, but the barrier between them had never been broken. Now, sitting so close, Yan Ruyuʼs heart raced.

The embarrassment of having Song Xuan and her daughter see through her feelings made her cheeks flush.

Breathing in the masculine scent of the young man beside her, Yan Ruyuʼs heart beat faster and faster. She didnʼt understand why she, a woman far past her girlhood, was reacting this way.

Even when she was young and had been deceived by Song Yifang, she hadnʼt felt this kind of flutter.

Compared to the innocent infatuation of her youth, she realized that her heart for love had only just awakened. This newfound feeling made her forget all her reservations and simply enjoy the moment. Just sitting beside him filled her with an indescribable sweetness.

However, Yan Ruyu soon grew unhappy again. She noticed that Ye Fei hadnʼt even glanced at her, simply sitting with his eyes closed as if meditating. This made her doubt herself. Had everything sheʼd seen before been an illusion? Did he feel nothing for her?

Itʼs true—once a woman falls in love, no matter her age, she becomes prone to overthinking. Yan Ruyu was no exception.

As time passed, her heart grew heavier. Just as she was about to resign herself to cutting off what she thought was her first true love, Ye Fei suddenly sighed.

That sigh reignited the hope in Yan Ruyuʼs heart. It seemed he wasnʼt indifferent to her after all—he must be troubled by something. Softly, she asked, ”Whatʼs wrong?”

”Nothing,” Ye Fei replied casually, unaware that he had almost lost the beautiful woman beside him.

But when he saw the complex look in Yan Ruyuʼs eyes, he realized that if he kept up the mystery, it might create a rift between them. So, he added, ”Itʼs just some family matters. Maybe you can help me figure it out.”

”Of course!”

Yan Ruyu answered happily. Yes, happily. Because now she knew Ye Fei hadnʼt been intentionally ignoring her.

And the fact that he was willing to share his family matters with her—didnʼt that mean he saw her as someone close? This thought filled her heart with an indescribable sweetness.
