Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 711: Playing with the Police Beauty

After getting into the police car, Ye Fei remained completely unfazed. He lounged casually in the backseat and even struck up a conversation with the young officer assigned to watch him.

”Hey, buddy, does Captain Leng have a boyfriend?”

The young officer rolled his eyes, thinking to himself that this guy had some nerve. He had just killed someone and was now in the hands of the meticulous Captain Leng, yet he still dared to ask about her love life.

However, having witnessed the kind of person Ye Fei had taken down at the Canghai Club, and being fresh out of the police academy with his sense of justice still intact, the officer couldnʼt help but admire Ye Fei for ridding the world of such scum.

So, he replied, ”No, she doesnʼt. Frankly, no one dares to pursue her. Why, are you interested?”

Ye Fei chuckled. ”Nah, my wife is way prettier. You saw her earlier, right? The one in the sky-blue outfit.”

”Yeah, I did,” the young officer nodded in agreement. In his eyes, all four of the women with Ye Fei were just as stunning as their captain.

Having seen people in uniforms every day, he didnʼt share Ye Feiʼs fascination with women in police attire. Instead, he found women in casual clothes more appealing.

The police station wasnʼt far from the Canghai Club, and by the time Ye Fei and the officer finished their chat, they had already arrived.

Perhaps Ye Feiʼs cooperation had dissipated Leng Yanʼs anger, as she returned to her usual icy demeanor upon entering the station. She instructed her subordinates to process the other individuals they had apprehended, while she approached the police car where Ye Fei was being held. After all, he was a murderer, and his crime was far more severe than the others.

”Get out!” Leng Yan barked coldly when she saw Ye Fei lounging in the car with his legs crossed, seemingly unfazed by the situation.

”No wonder no one dares to pursue her,” Ye Fei whispered to the young officer, sticking out his tongue before hopping out of the car. The officer nearly burst out laughing but managed to hold it in.

Fortunately, Leng Yan didnʼt catch what Ye Fei had said. She led him into a dimly lit interrogation room, clearly intending to question him herself.

Sure enough, after a short wait, Leng Yan entered the room, accompanied by the same young officer.

Once seated, Leng Yan got straight to the point, her face cold as she asked, ”Name!”

”Ye Fei.”

”Gender?”

Ye Fei was speechless. He had only seen this kind of brain-dead questioning on TV, and it always struck him as ridiculous.

Unless someone was a special case like Brother Chun, why even bother asking about gender?

The most memorable example for him was a comedy skit by Chen Xiaoʼer and Zhu Laomao. So, mimicking Xiaoʼer, he replied, ”You figure it out.”

The young officer couldnʼt hold back a snort of laughter.

Though Leng Yan was furious, she knew her question had been a bit idiotic. She filled in the answer herself and continued, ”Address?”

”XX Road, XX District, Wanghai City,” Ye Fei answered without hesitation.

Leng Yan was taken aback. ”Youʼre not from the capital?”

”Nope. So, Officer, do you only arrest people from the capital? Great, Iʼm not from here. Let me go!” Ye Fei said with mock excitement.

Leng Yan rolled her eyes, fearing that if she continued, she might just lose her temper. She quickly moved on to the main topic, unaware that her eye-rolling—a gesture common among women—had startled the young officer. In the six months he had been working there, he had never seen Captain Leng act so feminine.

”Why did you kill him?” Leng Yan asked, cutting to the chase.

Ye Fei wasnʼt having it. ”Officer, is that how you conduct an interrogation? Thatʼs leading the witness!”

”What?” Leng Yan was startled, thinking he might retract his confession. She quickly asked, ”So, youʼre saying you didnʼt kill him?”

”No, I did,” Ye Fei admitted without hesitation.

”You…” Leng Yan realized she had been played again. Fuming, she decided to skip the questions and filled out the form herself. She then handed it to Ye Fei and said, ”Since youʼve confessed, sign here.”

Ye Fei took the form and read it carefully. Leng Yan watched him coldly, while the young officer slipped out of the room. He could tell that Ye Fei was no ordinary person, and if he managed to embarrass the captain again, it was better not to witness it.

”Officer, this part is wrong,” Ye Fei said, pointing to the words ”premeditated murder.”

Leng Yan glanced at it. ”Whatʼs wrong? Didnʼt you kill him?”

”Yes, I did, but it was self-defense,” Ye Fei retorted, rolling his eyes.

”Stop making excuses! Even if it was self-defense, there was no need to kill him. If violence could solve everything, whatʼs the point of the law?” Leng Yan argued sternly.

”Donʼt give me that high-minded talk. Does the law really work?” Ye Fei suddenly said coldly. He was genuinely fed up. He had rid the world of a menace, yet instead of being praised, he was being harassed by a police officer.

Even if she was beautiful, it didnʼt excuse her behavior. He stared into Leng Yanʼs eyes and asked, ”If we hadnʼt been able to defend ourselves today, and my friends had been violated by that Yi Jifeng, would you have arrested him?”

”I…” Leng Yan was at a loss for words. She wanted to say she would have arrested him, but deep down, she knew it was a lie. Even if she had arrested him, her superiors would have released him in no time.

”Speechless, huh?” Ye Fei sneered. ”Since these people are already above the law, they shouldnʼt be protected by it either. Thatʼs why killing them isnʼt a crime!”

”Even so, it didnʼt have to end in death!” Leng Yan blurted out in the heat of the moment, but she immediately regretted it. That wasnʼt what she truly believed; she had only said it to argue back.

Sure enough, Ye Fei exploded. He slammed the table and stood up, shouting, ”No death? You think everyone is like you, willing to do anything for a promotion or fame? My friends are good, virtuous women. If they had been violated, the only outcome would have been suicide. Do you think thatʼs not death?”

”Watch your language!” Leng Yan roared back. She had initially felt a bit of remorse for her earlier statement, but Ye Feiʼs words were too harsh. What did he mean by ”willing to do anything for a promotion or fame”? She, Leng Yan, was a virtuous woman too!

Ye Feiʼs words were born of anger. With his keen sensitivity to a womanʼs aura, he could tell that the alluring police captain was still a virgin.

However, because of her earlier remark, he wasnʼt about to apologize. He smirked and said, ”Isnʼt it true? Isnʼt that Wang-something Xi your role model? Look how famous she is now!”
