Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 187: Establishment of Prestige ()

Both Liu Junyi and Ye Fei felt a bit solemn. Liu Junyi asked hurriedly, ”Did we have any casualties?”

Zhang Qiang shook his head and said, ”No, only a few brothers were shot, but they were only injured in the arms and legs and itʼs not serious.”

Only then did Liu Junyi breathe a sigh of relief. She ordered the person beside her to notify all those above the squadron leader level to gather in the temporary meeting room, and then said to Zhang Qiang, ”Tell us about the specific situation at that time.”

Zhang Qiang nodded and told them what had happened. It turned out that after Ye Fei and Liu Junyi left in the morning, the main force still searched bit by bit into the forest according to the agreed plan.

It was past two oʼclock in the afternoon when they had only searched less than five miles.

Just when everyone thought, like yesterday, nothing would happen, several gunshots suddenly rang out from the deep forest.

Several members who were a bit far away from the main force were immediately shot.

Everyone was shocked and quickly counterattacked towards the inside. But after those few gunshots, there was no more movement inside.

Although everyone was very angry and wanted to chase in, thinking of Liu Junyiʼs repeated instructions, they finally held back and decided to return to the stronghold first and wait for Liu Junyi to come back to decide on a countermeasure.

After listening, Liu Junyi frowned tightly. She felt a bit uncomfortable in her heart.

When she thought that she and Ye Fei had had a happy day in the valley while the team had been attacked, although no one was seriously injured or even died, she still felt very guilty.

From Liu Junyiʼs somewhat self-blaming expression, Ye Fei knew what she was thinking.

When no one noticed, he gently held her small hand and whispered in her ear, ”Itʼs not your fault. Even if you were here, you surely couldnʼt have stopped this attack, so letʼs think about how to deal with those people.”

Liu Junyi naturally understood that Ye Fei was right. She was just sad for a moment.

Now that Ye Fei said that, she immediately cheered up.

Ye Feiʼs ability to guess her thoughts every time made her feel that they had a tacit understanding of being in sync, and her heart felt very sweet. And this might be a common problem for all girls in love.

While they were talking, a few of them had already arrived at the meeting room in the temporary stronghold.

This meeting room was very small, far from comparable to the one in the compound. However, they were all soldiers and had no such requirements for this.

For them, as long as there was a place where they could discuss things quietly, it was enough.

When the three of them arrived, all those above the squadron leader level were already there.

Liu Junyi sat down at the front and asked directly, ”What do you all think about todayʼs incident?”

Before Ye Fei and Liu Junyi came back, they had already discussed these matters. Everyone thought that the person behind the scenes might have known that his conspiracy had been discovered, so he couldnʼt wait to wipe out the action team and even resorted to a sneak attack on the periphery.

Therefore, when Liu Junyi asked, they all expressed their views.

After listening to everyoneʼs analysis, Liu Junyi frowned and fell into deep thought. Her eyes subconsciously turned to Ye Fei. Unconsciously, she was relying more and more on Ye Fei. No matter what happened, she subconsciously wanted to ask for his opinion.

Since he decided to completely control the special forces during the day, Ye Fei has been working hard towards this goal.

And if he controlled this special department, of course, he couldnʼt lead them personally.

At that time, it would surely be led by Liu Junyi, so her prestige must not be lost.

The best way was to make her show enough wisdom and then combine it with his almost invincible strength, to make the team members greatly admire both of them.

Then they would surely follow them wholeheartedly, and since he and Liu Junyi were one, it would be much easier to control the special forces.

Ye Fei had different opinions about everyoneʼs views, but he couldnʼt express them himself at the moment. And how to make Liu Junyi say these words gave Ye Fei a bit headache.

Looking at Liu Junyiʼs constant looking at him, Ye Fei wished she had the ability like his younger sister to know his thoughts.

Otherwise, he could secretly notify her with just a few glances.

Secretly notify her? Ye Feiʼs heart suddenly moved, and he couldnʼt help but think of a method called ”secret sound transmission” that he read about in a novel.

With his current strength, if it was feasible, he could surely use it. So he concentrated his energy to gather the sound into a line and tentatively called, ”Auntie.”

When Liu Junyi heard Ye Fei calling her, she thought he had some new idea and was happy. She quickly looked at him, while the others obviously didnʼt hear Ye Feiʼs voice and were still either deep in thought or looking at Liu Junyi expectantly.

This discovery made Ye Fei very happy. He quickly concentrated on the sound and said, ”Auntie, I am talking to you with a secret method. Donʼt move, just listen.”

Although Liu Junyi didnʼt understand what he was up to, since she already regarded him as her everything, she naturally wouldnʼt oppose his words. She nodded calmly and put on the same thoughtful expression as before.

Although Ye Fei didnʼt want to put more pressure on his women, Liu Junyi was originally from the special forces, and he needed her to step forward if he wanted to control the special forces, so it was quite appropriate to tell her this idea. So he told her his plan and then expressed his views on todayʼs incident.

Liu Junyi wasnʼt very clear about Ye Feiʼs purpose of controlling the special forces, and she had never had such an ambition herself.

But since Ye Fei wanted it, she naturally supported him without hesitation, and she was also very happy that she could help Ye Fei.

After listening to Ye Feiʼs words, Liu Junyi cleared her throat and asked, ”Do you all think the person behind the scenes already knows that we have seen through him?”

The captains looked at each other. The captain from the Northeast said, ”Iʼm afraid this is certain. Otherwise, how could the enemy come to such an outer area for a sneak attack? This must be his attempt to get rid of us, the thorn in his side, as soon as possible.” Others also nodded in agreement.

But Liu Junyi shook her head and said, ”But I donʼt think so. If itʼs really like this, and they have far more people than us, why donʼt they all rush out and have a decisive battle with us?”

The captains were all stunned.

They had thought of what Liu Junyi said, but because they had preconceived that the schemer already knew everything, they didnʼt think deeply about it.

Now that Liu Junyi mentioned it, they felt something was wrong and asked one after another, ”Then Captain Liu, whatʼs your opinion?”

Liu Junyi smiled and said, ”Think about it. Suppose we didnʼt know there was such a person behind the scenes. What would we do if we suffered such a sneak attack today?”

”We would surely fight them!”

The captain from the Northeast was straightforward and said whatever came to his mind. ”If it werenʼt for Captain Liuʼs order today, Iʼm afraid we would have already rushed into the depths to chase them.”

”Thatʼs right.” Liu Junyi nodded. ”What the enemy probably wants is this. Because we are searching so slowly, they must be impatient, so they want to lure us deep, and they will hide and attack us from behind.”

The captains were all shocked and felt a bit of fear in their hearts.

If it hadnʼt been for Liu Junyiʼs repeated instructions before, they might have fallen into the enemyʼs trap by now. For a moment, they greatly admired her foresight.

”And besides that, the enemy should have another purpose.” Liu Junyi was also a very intelligent person.

Liu Junyi leaned her body weakly into his arms and said with some melancholy, ”Iʼm thinking if we are too selfish, only caring about our happiness and putting others in such a dangerous situation.”

Ye Fei naturally understood what she meant. He knew she was still sad for the several members who were injured today. He couldnʼt help but secretly praise her kindness.

He hugged her gently and said with a smile, ”Didnʼt I say that even if you were here today, such a thing couldnʼt be avoided, so donʼt blame yourself too much. And from tomorrow, we will intensify the search to find the enemyʼs lair as soon as possible and wipe them all out to avenge the sacrificed and injured comrades.”

”Yeah.” Liu Junyi replied softly. She snuggled in his arms for a long time before leaving the meeting room with him and going back to rest.

When Ye Fei returned to the dormitory, Zhang Qiang and the others were still awake. When they saw Ye Fei come in, the gossipy team member asked, ”Ye Fei, did your aunt assign you another special task?”

Ye Fei said with a smile, ”The task is still the same, but she ordered me to figure out the enemyʼs position as soon as possible to avenge our comrades.”

”By the way, didnʼt you say you found a suspicious place? Did the captain find anything after seeing it?” Zhang Qiang asked suddenly.

They still remembered the reason why Ye Fei and Liu Junyi left in the morning. But in the meeting room just now, everyoneʼs attention was on todayʼs attack and no one thought of asking about this. Now Zhang Qiang remembered it.

”There was nothing. I was inexperienced and made a mistake.” Ye Fei said with a bitter smile. These words were also what he and Liu Junyi had agreed on to answer everyoneʼs questions. ”It was just a trace left by wild animals, but I mistook it for the enemyʼs.”

Zhang Qiang and the others believed Ye Feiʼs words without doubt, but they didnʼt blame him either. One person said with a smile, ”Itʼs okay. You are still a novice. After more experience in the future, you will be able to tell the difference.”

”Yes, but this is also good. At least it lets us know that you also have your shortcomings. Otherwise, we might regard you as a god.”

The gossipy team member also said with a smile.

What he said was correct.

After Ye Feiʼs performance that day, although they were still as familiar with him as before and talked the same way, deep in their hearts, they had a faint sense of awe towards him.

But Ye Feiʼs answer today made them feel that he also had a human side, and that sense of awe disappeared at once, making their relationship return to what it was at the beginning.

Ye Fei didnʼt expect that he had achieved the right result by accident and had narrowed the distance with them. He was secretly happy, and at the same time, he thought that he needed to pay attention to the relationship with them in the future.

Although as a leader, necessary prestige and mystery were indispensable, ”harmony” was more important than anything. If he couldnʼt get along well with these elites, even if they followed him in the future, there might be some estrangement in the middle.
