Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 169: The Fragile Junyi

The place where the fireworks were set off was dozens of miles away from Ye Fei, and it was all dense forest that was difficult to pass through.

It would probably take an ordinary person a whole day to get there, and even the special forces members might need several hours.

But this was no problem for Ye Fei at all.

After running wildly on the ground for a while, Ye Fei, dissatisfied with his speed, simply leaped into the air and flew over by stepping on the branches and treetops as if he were walking on air.

How fast Ye Fei was!

And because he was worried about his auntʼs safety at this time, he used his fastest speed. In less than three minutes, he had already arrived at the place where the fireworks were set off.

Hiding himself on a big tree, Ye Fei looked down and his eyes nearly popped out. He saw that nearly a hundred of his aunt and her team were trapped in a small valley.

More than twenty people in the special forces had already been killed or injured.

On the other hand, none of the terrorists hiding behind the trees had been hit by a bullet.

At this moment, neither of the two sides engaged in the fierce gunfight had hit anyone from the other side. It seemed that his aunt and her team, like his own group, had been ambushed suddenly.

Ye Fei soon saw Liu Junyiʼs figure behind a tree.

At this time, she had an angry face and was holding a submachine gun, continuously firing at the places where gunshots came from around her, but there was also a bit of helplessness in her eyes.

Because at this moment, no matter how good her skills were, she couldnʼt rush out to engage the enemy in close combat, and the enemy was all well hidden, and she hadnʼt hit a single one for a long time.

Looking at his somewhat aggrieved aunt, Ye Fei was furious. He suddenly let out a long howl, took out the two big swords, and whirled into the enemyʼs camp.

Strangely, Ye Fei had just killed no less than a hundred and fifty people with these two big swords, and he had even cut down many trees and huge rocks, but the two swords were still as sharp as before, without even a trace of wear.

The sudden change stunned both sides of the battle. It was only after Ye Fei had killed dozens of people that the terrorists came to their senses.

They hurriedly turned their guns and fired at Ye Fei, but they got the same result as their comrades.

Most of the bullets were avoided by Ye Fei, and he ignored the few that hit him. For a moment, they were terrified.

On the other hand, seeing such a powerful reinforcement coming, the special forces members were greatly inspired.

Especially Liu Junyi, from the familiar figure, she already knew that this invincible man like a god was her sixteen-year-old little nephew.

Besides being surprised, she couldnʼt help but feel proud. She shouted, ”Charge forward and kill all these bastards!”

The special forces members had already been eager to do so. With Liu Junyiʼs order, how could they hesitate anymore?

They also saw that under the man who was so fast that his shadow could hardly be seen, these terrorists could only take a beating, so they all wisely chose to surround and outflank, wanting to wipe out the terrorists who had killed more than twenty of their brothers.

In less than five short minutes, the once noisy forest fell silent. Ye Fei felt that since he had killed more than a hundred terrorists just now, his strength had increased by a large margin.

And now, killing so many more people has improved it even more.

This made him think of the leveling system in games.

Could it be that he leveled up after killing these people?

This idea made him a bit excited. Since he could level up like in a game, would any good things drop after killing enemies?

Unfortunately, after looking around, he was disappointed. He didnʼt know whether it was because these terrorists were too low-level or he simply couldnʼt make things drop like in the game.

Anyway, apart from their equipment, there was nothing after these people died.

It was only when Ye Fei stopped that the special forces members saw clearly who he was.

It turned out that except for the people from the Wang Hai City special forces, although the others had heard that Ye Fei had excellent marksmanship, they had always thought he was just here with Liu Junyi for gilding.

They never expected that he would be much more terrifying than all the special forces members combined.

Putting aside his unrealistic idea, Ye Fei turned to look at Liu Junyi and found that she wasnʼt looking at him in surprise like the other special forces members. Instead, she was looking at the special forces members lying on the ground, with an unshakable sense of self-blame and regret in her eyes.

Yes, Liu Junyi was regretting at this time.

Back in Wang Hai City, Ye Fei had already seen that it was a big conspiracy and reminded her more than once, but she hadnʼt taken it seriously.

It was only after being ambushed suddenly that she believed Ye Feiʼs words. Seeing those more than twenty teammates whose lives were in danger, she deeply regretted not keeping everyone together.

If they had been together, even if they were ambushed, they wouldnʼt have been completely unable to fight back.

Ye Fei walked over, gently patted Liu Junyiʼs shoulder, and said softly, ”Aunt, donʼt think too much. Letʼs go back and figure out a countermeasure first. Itʼs also a good time to take these twenty-odd brothers back.

Whether they are injured or dead, we canʼt just leave them here.”

Liu Junyi nodded and forced herself to calm down. She began to order the team members to clean up the battlefield, put the fallen brothers on stretchers, and at the same time check if there were any prisoners among the enemies.

Just like the people Ye Feiʼs group encountered, even if some of these people werenʼt dead at first, they all committed suicide when the team members found them.

Fortunately, after careful examination, it was found that only five of the fallen special forces members had died, and the others were only seriously injured, which made Liu Junyi feel a bit better.

After setting off the gathering fireworks into the sky, Liu Junyi sat down on the ground, looked up at the sky, and didnʼt know what she was thinking.

Ye Fei also sat beside her. He knew she was sad about the five dead team members, but he didnʼt know how to comfort her for the moment, so he just sat silently with her.

”Report, Captain!”

At this time, a member of the Southeast Special Forces suddenly ran to Liu Junyi and reported loudly, ”I recognized one of the terrorists.”

Liu Junyi perked up and asked hurriedly, ”Do you know which organization he belongs to?”

”I donʼt know that either.”

The member scratched his scalp and said, ”I fought against him a year ago.

At that time, he was from a Southeast Asian mercenary organization. I almost died with him, so I remembered him clearly, but I donʼt know what organization he belongs to now.”

Liu Junyi couldnʼt help but frown. This information was almost useless.

Since the man was a mercenary, it wasnʼt surprising what organization he joined after a year. So she waved her hand at the member and said, ”You go and rest first. Weʼll talk about it when we get back to the base.”

After the member walked away, Liu Junyi suddenly sighed and softly rested her head on Ye Feiʼs shoulder, saying, ”I donʼt know if it was right or wrong for me to take over as the overall commander.”

”Why do you say that?” Ye Fei asked, thinking it was a good chance to comfort her.

Liu Junyi sighed again and said, ”I suspect I simply donʼt have the ability. You already reminded me when we were in Wang Hai City, but I didnʼt take it seriously.

The deployment of this operation was also very problematic. If I had kept everyone together, perhaps this wouldnʼt have happened.”

Ye Fei shook his head and said, ”Itʼs not your fault at all. I didnʼt just tell you about this. Others also chose not to believe it. And even I was just guessing, with no evidence at all, and I wasnʼt even very confident about it myself.”

He had reasons for thinking this, but to make his aunt feel better, he had to try to belittle his analytical ability.

Hearing him say that, Liu Junyi indeed felt better and said, ”But I really canʼt figure out who wants to harm us special forces members, and what good would it do them after harming us?”

Ye Fei sighed and said, ”Itʼs hard to say. It could be some people with ulterior motives who want to get rid of your top elites. Itʼs more likely that some ambitious people want to replace all of you captains and plant their people in the special forces everywhere, or even control the special forces all over the place.”

Liu Junyi couldnʼt help but be shocked. Her mind was a bit chaotic, and she hadnʼt thought of that much before.

Now, reminded by Ye Fei, the more she thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed. She couldnʼt help but say in a somewhat fragile voice, ”Itʼs a pity that these terrorists are all like dead soldiers. Otherwise, we might have been able to get some information from them.”

Ye Fei asked, ”We have already recognized one, right? We can start from that person.”

Liu Junyi shook her head and said, ”Itʼs probably very difficult. Heʼs a mercenary, and no one knows which terrorist organization he joined later.”

Ye Fei had an idea and said something astonishing, ”I suspect that those people are not a terrorist organization at all.

The person behind the scenes mercenaries from various places and made them pretend to be a terrorist organization to trick us.”

Liu Junyi didnʼt quite agree with his view. She shook her head slightly and said, ”The possibility is very small. If they are mercenaries from various places, they shouldnʼt act like dead soldiers.”

Ye Fei nodded and said, ”Thatʼs true, but letʼs not guess randomly. When we find their lair later, I believe we can get something useful.”

Liu Junyi also nodded. ”Yes, after we gather, weʼll go back and rest, and then weʼll all act together. We canʼt divide our forces like this and be defeated one by one anymore.”

As she said this, she couldnʼt help but think of her mistake this time, and her mood, which had somewhat recovered, sank again.

Ye Fei said hurriedly, ”Itʼs not your mistake. There was nothing wrong with dividing into ten groups at all. Itʼs just that the enemy might have known our whereabouts.

Even if we all acted together, we probably couldnʼt avoid being ambushed, and there might be more people in ambush.”

”Why do you say that?” Liu Junyi asked in confusion. ”If we were all together, there would be over a thousand of us. Even if we were ambushed, we wouldnʼt be afraid of enemies with fewer numbers than us, right?”

Ye Fei shook his head and said, ”But the number of enemies is far more than that. I counted the ones who ambushed you this time. There were more than three hundred. And our group was also ambushed by more than two hundred people just now. Just these are already over five hundred. I think this is just a small part of their forces.”

”You were also ambushed?” Liu Junyi couldnʼt help but be shocked. She thought Ye Fei had been secretly following her to protect her all the time.

She didnʼt expect that he came from another battlefield. She asked hurriedly, ”Was the casualty heavy?”

Ye Fei shook his head and said, ”Not heavy. Only Uncle Li was injured because of me, and the others were fine.”

Liu Junyi finally breathed a sigh of relief and asked again, ”Then how did you know our location and get here so quickly?”

Ye Fei said with a smile, ”Didnʼt you see the bunch of fireworks just now?”

Only then did Liu Junyi understand why Zhang Qiang set off a signal different from the gathering fireworks for no reason. She knew Ye Fei must have asked him to do it.

For a moment, her heart felt warm, and a string in her heart that only used to be touched when she was with Yu Wuxia moved at this time, and the feeling was even more reassuring and sweet than when she was with Yu Wuxia.

”Ye Fei, thank you!” Liu Junyi couldnʼt help but snuggle closer to Ye Fei, hug his waist tightly with both hands, bury her head in his chest, and say sincerely.

Although she used to hold Ye Fei when he was a child, it was the first time for Ye Fei to hold her like this in his life. His heart couldnʼt help but pound wildly.

He also hugged her slender waist with both arms and whispered in her ear with a smile, ”I will protect you like this all my life. If we keep saying thank you, wonʼt it never end?”

”Yeah.”

Liu Junyi didnʼt know if she heard him.

She just gave a soft ”yeah” and snuggled closer to him again, feeling for the first time that it was nice to be cared for by a man like this.

Although the one in front of her was still just a boy.
