Transmigrated To Ancient Time: Thrive With An Auction System!

Chapter 337: The Aftermath ( 2 )

Xue Ya’er agreed to Yao Zhi’s request and glanced at Steward Han. He quickly went to fetch the brush, ink, and paper. It took him around 10 minutes to return. Besides that, he also asked people to carry a desk over.

After he prepared everything, Yao Zhi walked to the desk and picked up the wolf-hair brush. The ink had been ground, but Steward Han still stood on the side and ground more ink.

Yao Zhi drew the design for the bamboo water pipe, complete with the instructions, precautions, and how to maintain it.

As he ground the ink, Steward Han saw how fluid her movements were and couldn’t help but look at her with amazement. No wonder he was the heir of the Nuwa Clan. His knowledge was far above that of ordinary people.

It took Yao Zhi 50 minutes to finish the design. Thinking that she was already at it, she decided to add the drip irrigation system. This type of irrigation fits the northern area since the land is located near the mountains and the ground height varies.

They could also use a terracing system in agriculture to cultivate steep, sloped, or hilly terrain into a series of flat, stepped platforms to facilitate farming.

But this technique was too advanced for this era, and bringing it out now might cause trouble for Lu Qianxuan.

Right now, his political influence and military power were not as stable as those of the other lords and princes. Not to mention the need for significant labour for construction and ongoing maintenance.

After much consideration, she decided not to share the terracing system with them for now. She finished writing the drip irrigation system in 30 minutes.

When she was done, she spun her wrist and massaged her fingers and palm.

Indeed, it was tiring to write using a brush. She usually used a fountain pen and needed a longer time when using a brush. Fortunately, she learned calligraphy in her previous life as a hobby, so her handwriting was still legible.

Seeing that his wife’s hands were sore and tired, Fu Chen’an walked over and led her to her seat. Afterward, he held her hand and helped her massage her fingers, palm, and wrist.

Xue Ya’er was taken aback when she saw how intimate their behavior was. She knew that Yao Zhi was married, but she had never met Fu Chen’an personally. So, she didn’t know that the man she claimed to be her brother was her husband.

She wanted to remind her, but right now, she was a man. For a man helping his brother massage his hand was normal. Without any reason or excuse, she could only look at them with worry.

While she was worrying about Yao Zhi’s marital relationship, Steward Han had already gathered the papers and walked over.

”Madam, please take a look.”

Hearing this, Xue Ya’er returned to her senses and gathered her composure. She accepted the papers and took a look. The more she read, the more excited she became.

After she finished reading, she had already forgotten about Yao Zhi’s intimate behavior with Lei Ting.

”Young Master Lei, if we are able to disseminate these methods, the possibility of a successful harvest will be higher in the future.”

Yao Zhi nodded and replied, ”Using the waterway, we can connect the mountains’ water source and draw the water for the villagers to use.”

”If possible, we can dig ponds to collect the water. At the same time, we can plant lotus flowers and raise fish in the pond. If the pond is located on ground higher than the farmland, then there is no need to use a wooden bucket to hold water for the drip irrigation system.”

With her explanation, Xue Ya’er could imagine how to use both the waterway and the new irrigation system effectively.

Seeing her eyes light up in understanding, Yao Zhi smiled.

She had shared the waterway design with the Village Chief before, and he shared it with other village chiefs. But the scope of their connections was limited. Therefore, there were still a lot of people who didn’t know this method and didn’t have access to clean water.

In Xue Ya’er’s hands, this method would reach more people and help them improve their quality of life.

Yao Zhi believed that with the Xue family’s wealth and the General’s connections, this method could be distributed to faraway places. As long as people benefited from this, it would be counted as her contribution, and she would receive merit points as a reward.

Reaching this conclusion, she was in a very good mood, and her smile brightened.

Seeing that his wife was happy, Fu Chen’an was also in a good mood. Even though he only stayed by her side, he was content. His wife was very wonderful, and she deserved to stand under the brightest light.

After Xue Ya’er asked some questions regarding the irrigation system, she finally said, ”Young Master Lei, thank you for sharing your family’s secret method. If you ever need anything, please don’t hold back and tell me. As long as my Xue family is able to, we will definitely help you.”

She understood that these methods and designs must be the reason why the Lei family was still able to get an abundant yield during harvest when everyone else failed. For her to share it with outsiders, she must have paid a great price.

Not knowing that Xue Ya’er had misunderstood her, Yao Zhi replied casually, ”Madam, when people’s living conditions improve, only then will they have the ability to buy things. Only when people are able to afford things does my Lei family’s business prosper.”

”So, I’m doing this also for my own benefit. Madam doesn’t have to feel indebted,” she added with a smile.

She was telling the truth, but in Xue Ya’er and Steward Han’s hearts, she was saying these words to make them at ease. Their gratitude and admiration for the Nuwa Clan increased again.

But since she had said so, they stopped expressing their gratitude. After they finished another cup of tea, Yao Zhi and her husband finally left the General’s mansion.
