Transmigrated To Ancient Time: Thrive With An Auction System!

Chapter 317: Buying Servants ( 1 )

After she was done preparing breakfast, Yao Zhi took out 7 liters of fresh milk from her system animal farm’s warehouse and boiled it. One liter was enough for 4 cups, so this amount was enough for everyone.

Five minutes later, Xi Yi entered the kitchen with her daughter.

This was not the first time her Master had woken up before dawn. Since she couldn’t wake up earlier than her, she no longer felt as guilty as before. After all, her Master liked to wake up in the middle of the night. It was good to be young.

Seeing them coming, Yao Zhi greeted them with a smile, ”Good morning.”

The mother and daughter curtsied and replied, ”Good morning, Master.”

Yao Zhi had tried to correct their mindset, but since their upbringing was different, she didn’t force her way of thinking on them. As long as they didn’t call her Master in public and expose their identity, she let them be.

Xi Yi and Xi Si helped her plate the food and carry it to the room. When the milk was ready, Yao Zhi added honey and said, ”Ah Si, divide this milk among everyone.”

”Yes, Master.”

When everyone sat around the table, Ling Yi stared at the milk in front of him for a moment before asking, ”Master, is this for me?”

Yao Zhi nodded. ”Everyone has been working hard lately, so we need to nourish our bodies well. Drinking a cup of milk in the morning after a meal is good for the body. So, everyone has to finish it.”

”Master, I’m already 27 years old,” Ling Yi reminded her.

”So?” Yao Zhi asked in confusion.

”I’m not a child anymore.”

Finally understanding his meaning, Yao Zhi frowned and asked, ”Who said that only children can drink milk?”

She crossed her arms and glanced at everyone. ”In my hometown, everyone can drink milk. Even the elderly drink milk. So why can’t you?”

Looking at their thin frames, she made up her mind. ”From today onward, whether you like it or not, all of you must drink a cup of milk every morning.”

To show his support for his wife, Fu Chen’an reached for his milk and took a sip. He nodded and said, ”Wife, it’s delicious.”

The moment she heard this, Yao Zhi beamed and replied, ”It’s better to drink milk after having a meal. Husband, eat something first.”

Fu Chen’an nodded and drank his porridge. Seeing him eating obediently, Yao Zhi’s mood improved. She scooped a bowl of steamed eggs for him and reminded him softly, ”Have some steamed eggs too.”

”Okay.”

Even their male Master had to drink the milk, so no one had any objections. It wasn’t that they disliked milk. Milk was rare and expensive, but the gamey smell was strong.

Xi Yi disliked the gamey scent, so she had prepared herself before taking a sip. But after tasting the milk, she was surprised that it tasted different from the goat milk she had drunk before.

”Master, what kind of milk is this? It doesn’t have any gamey scent at all,” she asked.

”It’s cow’s milk. Of course, it doesn’t have a gamey scent.”

Xi Yi nodded and savored the milk carefully. It was sweet, rich, and creamy, with a slight herbal taste and a faint, clean floral aroma.

Yao Zhi was very confident in the quality of her fresh milk. After all, the cattle ate grass grown in the system’s grassland, which contained spiritual energy.

She dared to guarantee that the milk was better than the premium-quality milk sold in her previous life. As she expected, everyone finished their milk, leaving not even a drop behind.

After breakfast, Yao Zhi and Xi Yi left, driving the small donkey cart. The big donkey cart was kept at home.

Since the second donkey consumed the same feed and water as Xiao Lu, its intelligence had slowly increased. Now, it could understand simple human words. Although it was still far from Xiao Lu’s level, it was much better compared to ordinary donkeys.

Today, Yao Zhi and Xi Yi didn’t go to Zhu’an town but went to the border town. When they arrived, it was already 9 o’clock in the morning.

Seeing the familiar yet unfamiliar town again, Xi Yi clenched her fists tightly.

Noticing this, Yao Zhi reached out and held her hand. ”Don’t worry, no one will recognize you.”

Hearing this, Xi Yi took several deep breaths and calmed down. Her Master was right. She was wearing a skin mask and contact lenses. Even her husband might not recognize her, let alone government officials.

After she calmed down, it was soon their turn to enter the town. Yao Zhi showed the guards their travel permit.

The guard looked at them for a moment before returning the permit and saying, ”The entrance fee is 5 wen per person.”

Yao Zhi was taken aback and asked, ”Sir, isn’t it 2 wen per person?”

The guard frowned and said unhappily, ”Why ask so many questions? It’s 5 wen per person. If you want to enter, pay. Otherwise, leave quickly. Don’t block others!”

Although she was full of doubts, Yao Zhi still paid the entrance fee. When they were far from the gate, she finally muttered, ”Why did the town magistrate suddenly increase the entrance fee? Did something happen?”

Xi Yi hadn’t left the village for a long time and didn’t know much about the situation at the border, so she shook her head and asked in a low voice, ”Master, should I ask around?”

Yao Zhi shook her head. ”No need.” She didn’t want to cause trouble. She would ask Ling Shijiu to investigate it later.

Before going to the slave market, they first entrusted their donkey cart to the horse market.

Unlike before, the number of people visiting the slave market was fewer. This was the first time Yao Zhi visited the slave market using her real identity, so she wore clothes of ordinary quality.

When the clerk saw her coming, he observed her from head to toe.
