Death… And Me

Chapter 3890: Preventing Trouble

Foliana was taken aback. ’H-How did you know I was here?!’

Foliana wasn’t like the Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and Celis. She wasn’t connected with them. Thus, she didn’t expect to be found.

’I only found you because I was talking to Wisfreya, so I had my Divine Sense Spread,’ Rean answered. ’But you still haven’t answered my question.’

’H-Hmph!’ Foliana didn’t care. ’I’m not letting that girl become a breeding cow for the Verjansy Country. I’m going to take her away! Don’t try to stop me!’

Rean almost burst into laughter. Sure enough, Foliana had her own plans after their conversation back then. ’I won’t stop you, don’t worry.’

’You won’t?’ Now Foliana was the surprised one. ’G-Good! I will take care of her, don’t worry. It’s just until I bring her somewhere safe.’

’There is also no need for that,’ Rean added. ’We already reached an agreement with Wisfreya. She decided to come with us, and also, we are making you her master.’

’What?!’ Now Foliana was truly speechless. ’When did that happen?’

’First, come back down and don’t let anyone see you,’ Rean said. ’I’ll explain everything.’

Foliana looked down. She was ready to take action. She would invade the Verjansy Building where she saw Wisfreya entering, capture her, and leave as fast as possible. But now, she could only give up. ’You better not be lying to me!’

Some time later, Foliana returned to the Korko Sect residence. At the same time, Rean told her everything he and Roan discussed with Wisfreya and the deal they agreed on. ’So you see? She will be coming with us. There is no need for you to rescue anyone.’

Foliana narrowed her eyes. ’When will that happen? How will it work?’

’We will discuss the details after the gathering is over,’ Rean said. Even though she decided to go with the twins’ group, they had to see how it would happen. After all, they didn’t want to simply steal the girl away to avoid attracting attention. If they went for that, it was better after the Gathering was over.

[Foliana, I added you to the anti-Divine Sense formations of the building. You can talk straight to Wisfreya if you want now.]

’Good!’ Foliana was satisfied.

Rean shrugged and let it go. He was quite fortunate to notice Foliana just as she was about to invade the Verjansy Building. After all, there is a Divinity Realm expert watching the gathering this time around. Chances were the twins would need to intervene to help Foliana escape if she did attack.

The next day, Rean noticed Foliana seemed to be in a bad mood, though. ’Again... What is the problem?’

’You put me as her master, right?’ Foliana asked before continuing. ’Well, I don’t mind it since both of us have hybrid bloodlines. I am indeed the best match for her in that regard. It’s just... It’s just that I talked to her yesterday with Sister Orb’s help. She will come with us, but she also asked for a few years until her eggs are harvested. She said that it was her own way of paying for everything the Verjansy Country did for her until now.’

’And just like me, you see it as her giving away her own children, am I correct?’ Rean said, understanding what bothered Foliana.

’Yes...’ Foliana continued. ’I could never see myself doing something like that. I was especially surprised when I heard the Verjansy Country hasn’t truly forced her to do anything. They gave her the option, and she accepted on her own. If anything, the Verjansy Country has truly treated her well. Still... I mean... is it really okay?’

’That’s her decision,’ Rean didn’t intend to intervene. ’In the end, that’s her body, her eggs, and so on. You can try to convince her to not do it if you want. However, I can’t help you there.’

’I tried already,’ Foliana sighed. ’I spent over an hour trying to convince her to not do it. I even said I wouldn’t mind providing the Verjansy Country with the resources to make up for the eggs. Too bad that even though she isn’t under the effect of the contract anymore, she still intends to see it through. Something about a heart demon that she wants to avoid.’

Rean nodded. ’Even the most trivial things might become a mental barrier for high-level cultivators. She probably thinks that breaking the contract in that way would come back to haunt her in the future. That’s because she truly loves this country and what the government did for her. Well, if anything, she did say that she doesn’t care too much about those eggs. Her only focus is her cultivation path. Roan quite liked the girl’s mind. I’m pretty sure Zangeshu would give his seal of approval as well.’

’Roan and Zangeshu are just cold stones, so they don’t count.’ Still, Foliana knew there was no point in insisting. ’Whatever. I can try to convince her of the opposite during the years we will spend together.’

She continued. ’By the way, Wisfreya said that they are waiting until she is at least twenty before starting to harvest her eggs. Does that mean you won’t take her away with you after the gathering is over?’

’There isn’t really a need for it,’ Rean explained. ’Did you forget, the top ten powers have pretty much all come after us after our displays. Chances are that the Verjansy Country will offer us the opportunity to become part of their country too. Since I’m the only one alone in our group, I will accept their invitation and move to where she lives.’

’What about Trian?’ Foliana didn’t forget the boy Rean helped in the past three years. ’Right! Did he succeed in the second event?’

Rean smiled. ’I was the one training him, you know? You should have seen the crowd of elders of the top ten powers here yesterday. I’m truly thinking I helped him a little too much. He far surpasses the kids at his level now. He can jump one or two stages to fight, and everyone here is a genius from their own regions. If we’re talking about average experts, Trian can jump three stages to fight, maybe even a whole realm, depending on the opponent. All I need now is to convince him to accept the Verjansy Country invitation instead.’

’I see...’ Foliana nodded. ’Should I accept the Verjansy Country Invitation with Celis too? After all, you want me to train her, right? I already have quite a few ideas in mind. After years of struggling to understand my hybrid bloodline, I can now teach her about it and help the girl avoid many mistakes I made.’

Rean pondered a bit, nodding in the end. ’Seems like a good idea. Let’s ask Roan and see if he agrees.’

Roan didn’t see any problems. ’Do it. Celis, there is no need for you to follow Foliana since Rean is there. For the next years, you will be on your own, like Rean was before the gathering. Select some other top ten to accept the invitation later.’

Celis was more than happy to comply. ’Sure thing! I already intended to go for the Pengen Beast Alliance anyway. My only doubt was Foliana, but now that doubt is gone.’

’Good!’ Foliana hasn’t given up yet. ’Maybe I can still convince the girl during the next years. We will follow this plan.’
