Death… And Me

Chapter 3874: Second Event

The big and small powers kept trying to steal talents from each other during the next three days. Some were successful, but most ended up with nothing. After all, if the participants were brought here, that means their backgrounds have a certain degree of confidence that their kids wouldn’t betray them so easily.

Of course, when the top ten organizations came out calling, things weren’t so sure. It’s just that the top ten organizations of the Surute Region wouldn’t try to recruit anyone whom they didn’t think was a top prospect. That meant they hadn’t approached the vast majority of the participants who made it through the first event.

---

Two days later, back in the main field.

”Welcome back!” Bugel, the president of Verjansy Country, received the participants. He began with his lengthy speech once again, and only afterward did he elaborate on the next phase. ”Today we will start the second event of our martial gathering. Just a heads up: we will only have three events, so be sure to give it your all and make it to the third and final one.”

He continued. ”Now then, let’s start the second event.”

As soon as he said that, he pulled a crystal from his Pocket Dimensional Realm, something that emanated strong spatial ripples. When the leaders and elders of all the other organizations saw that, quite a few of them were surprised.

”Wait! Isn’t that...”

”Yes! It is!”

”How did Verjansy Country manage to get it?”

”The price was probably quite high, that I’m certain.”

Bugel smiled, seeing the expressions of those who knew what that crystal was. Of course, he was still explaining the event to the youngsters, so he ignored the others for now. ”My Verjansy Country went to great lengths to borrow this beauty. It is called the Celestial Convergence Labyrinth. Yes, there is a Dimensional Realm inside.”

”This is a treasure from the Papasin Sect, the very power that is at the top of our continent. It goes without saying that our continent has its name because of the sect too. Anyway, I will only be able to use it for a week, but it will definitely be worth the price.”

At that moment, Rean and Roan’s eyes narrowed. Not only them, but so did Celis and Kentucky.

’Divinity Realm...’

Indeed. A Divinity Realm Divine Sense spread around them, checking all the participants. The elders, leaders, president, etc, were no exception either. There wasn’t supposed to be a Divinity Realm expert in this place. At least, not one the twins’ group knew about. In this isolated continent, it would be a miracle if there were more than one or two of them. And yet, they had one here.

Roan quickly warned Foliana, Zangeshu, and Tanxan. ’With my pills and Rean’s technique, this guy shouldn’t be able to see through your cultivations. Still, make sure to keep hiding it yourselves, too. That will help.’

’What about the Natural Spatial Perception?’ Foliana was concerned. ’We can’t hide from that. Now that I think about it, how come I haven’t been found after entering the Korko Sect? The Core Elder who took me as her disciple should have definitely seen the black spot where I stand.’

At the moment, the entire twins’ group were as far away from Bugel as possible. After all, Natural Spatial Perception would normally make them look like black holes for everyone there. The Natural Spatial Perception of a Divinity Realm Expert was bound to be much bigger.

Still, Rean reassured them. ’Don’t worry. Zangeshu, Tanxan, and I modified our System Armors before we started this plan to make a name for ourselves in this Universe. It can’t conceal the Spatial Distortions created by our cultivations, but it can scramble the perception of others just as they are about to see us with it. Think about it as an extension of my Light and Divine Sense Bending Skill, but made for Natural Spatial Perceptions. Do you think we would have started this journey if we couldn’t hide from that? The very first Void Tempering Realm expert we met on our way up would have seen through our facade in a second.’

’Oh!’ Foliana was relieved. ’So that’s why you asked all the armors back. Wait, that worm alloy Zangeshu acquired back then...’

Zangeshu confirmed. ’Yes, it helped the three of us in the modification of the system armors that we are all using. How would we be able to hide once we joined the sects, clans, or whatever organization if we couldn’t deal with this issue? Right? However, a Divinity Realm’s Natural Spatial Perception is definitely harder for the System Armors to block. Just make sure you don’t get too close to that woman.’

Everyone understood it was serious. ’Very well.’

Rean and Roan then looked at the crystal in Bugel’s hand. They could tell it. That Divinity Realm Expert was mainly focusing on the crystal, although he kept an eye on everyone else, too.

Bugel was even happier to see the reactions of those who didn’t know about it until now. Still, he kept himself composed. ”And now, I call forward senior Eulia from the Papasin Sect. Senior Eulia, please...”

Space warped, and a woman suddenly appeared on the top of the building where Bugel and the other leaders were staying. She didn’t say anything, though. She only paid attention to the crystal to make sure nothing wrong would happen to it.

Bugel didn’t mind Eulia’s behavior and continued. ”As an important treasure of the Panpasin Sect, they couldn’t possibly leave it in my hands without the proper safety measures. Senior Eulia is here to make sure the Celestial Convergence Labyrinth Crystal is kept intact.”

Eulia finally said a few words after that. ”Enough with this. Just let’s get started.”

”As you wish!” Bugel immediately poured his Divine Energy and Sense inside the crystal, which connected to the teleport formation under the military base. Another bright flash of silver light followed, and all the participants disappeared.

The twins’ group was no different, now in the dimensional realm inside the crystal. Soon, they noticed they were inside a closed chamber, floating in space.

Then, Bugel’s voice echoed inside the entire labyrinth.

”The Celestial Convergence Labyrinth is a vast shifting maze made of floating crystal platforms and spatial distortions. The environment constantly rearranges itself, mixing gravity shifts, illusions, and traps that react to Divine Energy usage.”

”Your goal is very simple. At the center of the labyrinth, you will find a spiral. There are a total of one thousand tokens waiting for you there. You can only get one token, and as soon as you get that, you will be sent back outside. That means you passed the test. Simple, right?”

”This time, everyone will participate, which means those in the Saint Realm are also present. Some of you, especially those in the Core and Soul Fusion Realm, might be wondering: Isn’t this too unfair? There is no way we can be faster than those guys in the Saint Realm, even if you include the element of luck.”

”Don’t worry, everything was arranged to be as fair as possible. That said, the higher your cultivation, the greater the dangers you will face, the more the labyrinth will shift for you, and the further away you will start from the center.”

”Senior Eulia will back my words when I say the Panpasin Sect has used this Dimensional Realm in this form before, many times.”

Eulia’s voice followed after that. ”We use it constantly for training, so it has been modified to near perfection, and with way more participants than what is inside now.”

Everyone sighed in relief, especially those with lower cultivation. The Panpasin Sect was a monster in everyone’s eyes, and if a Divinity Realm expert from that Sect is vouching for the crystal’s abilities, then it must be true. Simply put, it was beneath the Panpasin Sect to be lying in a small event like this.

Bugel continued from there. ”Thank you for your words, Senior Eulia. Well then, the rest is up to you all. As soon as the one thousand tokens are taken, everyone will be teleported outside... if you are alive until then, that is. If you are too afraid to take part, then I recommend that you don’t leave the chambers where you appeared. These chambers can only be exited, not entered. They are completely immune to any external forces.”

”Just be aware that once you enter the Labyrinth, there is no way back. Either you find a token and get teleported outside, or you survive until a thousand tokens are taken. Other than that, there is nothing that can guarantee your safety until that moment. Naturally, everyone is allowed to attack each other if they feel like it.”

”Alright,” Bugel finished his explanation. ”The second event of our Martial Gathering starts now. Good luck!”
