Death… And Me

Chapter 3881: Shoulder Pat!

*Vup, vup, vup...*

The twins looked behind and saw that Fergaya, Flanfa, and Teridel had already taken their tokens and were teleported out of the Celestial Convergence Labyrinth.

Zangeshu, Foliana, Tanxan, and the others also did the same. They didn’t care about the newcomers, so why waste more time here? And, as one could expect, everyone’s CDs received reports that these tokens had been taken away.

”Shall we go, then?” Rean also turned around and was about to touch one of the tokens when suddenly... ”Hum?”

He noticed several tiny specs of light gathering around his hand, impeding it from going forward.

Roan, who had his arms crossed, also noticed the same thing, finding it hard to move.

”Latrak, it’s her! Wisfreya Lolkrin!” At that moment, one of the Saint Realm participants from earlier spoke to their leader.

”Attack! Don’t let her get close to the tokens!” Latrak, the man who wielded the pendant that could conceal his group from Divine Sense, immediately issued the order. He was actually feeling irritated. He intended to let the twins’ group go and hide again, waiting for his group’s real target. Yet, their target just happened to appear as soon as they gave passage to the twins’ group. How unlucky was that?

The five cultivators and two demon beasts wouldn’t stop because of that, though. They had their orders, and that was to get rid of that girl.

Peak Stage Saint Realm by the age of Seventeen. All the other powers knew she had the capability to turn into someone great in the future. That kind of talent matched even the talents at the center of the Divine Realm. That said, to prevent a shift in the power balance, this group was created to kill her during this event.

In fact, this group was even bigger, with at least thirty members from five different top ten powers. It’s just that the rest of them hadn’t managed to get to this place yet. Maybe they wouldn’t at all, since luck played a big part here.

The young woman looked at those seven experts coming at her, but her expression didn’t change a little bit.

Wisfreya was obviously part of the humanoid races, but if you looked at her body, especially her face, you could tell she also possessed a bloodline, just like Foliana. Several parts of her skin seemed to be made of crystal, including a small part of her right and left cheeks.

Rean and Roan only had to pay attention to it for a moment to understand that the tiny crystals holding them in place were something summoned by that girl.

’Quite an interesting ability. When did these crystals appear near us?’ Rean asked, genuinely curious.

Roan had to agree with Rean there. ’Most likely, Wisfreya can condense the Divine Energy and Earth Element of the environment to create these crystals. I wonder which race her bloodline is. But... one thing is certain.’

’Yes...’ Rean noticed it too.

’Her Elemental Affinity is also related to these crystals,’ the twins thought together.

Rean and Roan were right. So much so that it was called Crystal Element Affinity, very original...

Anyway, it was a rare offshoot of the Earth Element. Crystal Affinity grants its bearer the ability to solidify Divine Energy into translucent crystalline forms. These crystals can store, refract, or amplify the user’s Divine Power, allowing both offense and defense through precision control.

As the twins paid attention, the battle ahead started.

Wisfreya lifted her hand, and various crystals immediately appeared all over the area.

”Trying to hide! Not so easy! We heard how your crystal abilities can conceal the user if not dealt with in time. Too bad, you won’t have time! Formation Seven!” The attackers didn’t care and started by using their ranged attacks. Several elemental types assaulted the woman, who was surrounded by that group. Roan could see the killing intent around the woman, and it was thick. Those guys truly wanted to kill her at all costs.

*Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom...*

Several explosions followed, and the crystals near where the young girl was were blasted away. The group didn’t want to give her a chance to conceal herself with the crystals.

*Rawr!*

The two Demon Beasts didn’t give her any chance to react after that either, plunging into the chaotic aftermath of elements from the explosions, using their claws and fangs to rip the woman apart. Their elements covered their bodies, and they used as much Divine Energy as possible to increase their strength.

*Crarrrg!*

The claws and fangs ripped the woman in half, each demon beast coming out of the explosion area with a part of the young girl’s body. A crystalline red blood spread everywhere, a result of the explosions and the two demon beasts’ attacks.

*Sigh...*

Latrak sighed in relief. Wisfreya was at the Peak Stage of the Saint Realm, but even she couldn’t resist the attack of all seven of them at once.

However, he soon noticed something strange with his Divine Sense. He saw that Rean and Roan were still there, and they were smiling... No, that was more of a mocking expression; both of them had it on their faces. ’Something’s not right...’

It was then that the two halves of the woman suddenly broke apart. Wrong, that wasn’t her body. Instead, it was all made of her crystals; the body was fake!

”Careful! She’s still ali-” Latrak barely had time to say his first words.

*zin, zin, zin, zin, zin, zin...*

*Arrrghhhhh!!!*

Those pieces of crystal that covered the entire area, a few of them ended up on the skins of Latrak’s group. They were tiny, seemingly harmless. However, Latrak’s group was wrong, incredibly wrong!

Those tiny pieces of crystal began to carve their way into everyone’s bodies, absorbing all the energy inside and expanding as they dug deeper!

Latrak and the others quickly tried to use their Divine Energy and Elements to drive the crystals out of their bodies. Unfortunately, all they managed to do was to fuel Wisfreya’s crystals even more!

*Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!*

Then, the unbelievable happened. All their bodies suddenly exploded from within, countless pieces of red crystals, filled with energy and different elements, flying in all directions. Latrak and his group died, just like that. As for Wisfreya, she was nowhere to be seen.

’Wow!’ Rean was quite impressed. ’I didn’t expect that to be over so fast...’

’Hmph!’ Roan snorted. ’It is better to say that the idiots made a fatal mistake.’

The twins saw it perfectly. Latrak’s group didn’t even know what the crystals could do, yet they plunged into it. They failed to notice the extremely compressed Divine Energy within the crystals she had created. If they had noticed that, it would have been relatively easy to avoid. Well... relatively easy for the twins, that is. Sometimes Roan fails to remember that not everyone is like him.

Still, there was a small problem. The twins still had the crystals around their bodies, too. They wanted to move, but the crystals were holding them back. For some reason, that girl didn’t target Latrak’s group first. Instead, she targeted them.

[Do you wanna know why you became a target?] Sister Orb asked, although she answered her own question straight away. [Now that Celis and Kentucky left the Dimensional Realm, I was able to check the live stream and tried selecting that girl over there. Turns out that what is being transmitted is completely different from what you two are seeing. Wisfreya most likely doesn’t want to leave any witnesses of her power behind.]

’She can do that?’ Rean was puzzled. ’But that is the Werdlem network. No, wait! It is being transmitted on the Werdlem Network, but the stream is being provided by the Verjansy Country. I see... we all know she is the hidden card of the Verjansy Country, and they are altering her videos before they are fed into the live stream.’

[Precisely. However, that also means that at least the Verjansy Country is seeing what is truly happening here. It is up to you to decide what you will do with it.]

Roan coldly smiled, feeling quite satisfied. ’Hehe! It works pretty well for us, too. After all, the Verjansy Country can’t tell anyone what is happening here, right?’

Wisfreya suddenly appeared again, not too far from where Rean and Roan were being kept. Her face was still cold. She didn’t waste any time, clenching her fists and causing the crystals around Rean and Roan to sink deep into their bodies. Finally...

*Bang, bang!*

Rean and Roan’s bodies exploded, just like the previous group.

Wisfreya shook her head in the end. ”Sigh... what a waste of time.”

*Pat, pat!*

At that moment, two hands landed on each of her shoulders from the sides. One from a black-haired lad, and the other from a white-haired young man. ”Indeed. But hey! A friend of ours thinks you’re really cool!”

Wisfreya froze, turning her head and seeing the two youngsters she had just killed. ”Well... fuck!”
